The only stuff you brag about is a wall which the British destroyed with 14 soldiers from the north.

Majority of the African Countries that gained independence in the 1950s - 1960s have nothing tangible to show for it.

Apart from the phrase that....

"We are Independent"

They claim to be independent but still rely on their colonial masters or the west for almost everything..

They are now even looking towards the east for new colonial masters.

Russia and China are now their darlings...

It would have been better if the first colonial masters have stayed because Africa may never achieve her true potentials with the black man sense that is currently in charge.

You don't know how negatively the colonial era affected the race. Take for example, Nigeria. The British joining Nigeria together remains one of the world's most evil things. That action alone has destroyed the country. The same fate is happening to many back nations. And if U know how the global system works, U will hate the white man. They messed U up. U won't know.

It's hard to reply you because you don't focus on anything, nor do you actually have any arguments, you seem to be more interested in vexation then in actually seriously discussing the topic.

1. We didn't need paved roads.
2. We didn't have a written form of language, we had our own indigenous systems, not European schools.
3. There is clearly a horse in the painting of Oba of Benin.
4. You are basically saying that we were not Europe. Yes we were not, we were Africans and we had our own way of life, our own culture, our own needs and our own centres of interest which are not the same as those of Europeans.
5. Benin had its own architecture which was not limited to walls

See there is nothing to discuss

You only want to tell me that the benin kingdom is great because they built a mud wall.

1,The kingdom is so great that 14 soldiers destroyed the kingdom and stole all its artifacts which are all in British museum today.

2,You didn't have paved roads because it was not an advanced society, now you have paved roads brought to you by your colonial masters.

3,You didn't have a written form because the people weren't educated even in their local language, they couldn't even read and write, that is one reason why the British conquer the land. Today English is been taught all over benin schools.

4. They didn't have any form of writing. Because there was no schools or university. Today you all write in English and not in your local languages.

5.The horse must have been a gift from the queen or king of England.

6. Benin had its own architecture which was hut or mud houses. These architectures can still been seen in benin city today

I am not so smart for understanding the reality of life.

The man saying I am not very smart is even typing in English brought to him by his colonial masters from Britain.

He even look down in disdain on people who speak his local language.

Mr know know know....

The Colonial masters are not your problem.

Hong Kong and Singapore were also Colonized

Even America was Colonized with different territories joined together

They are better off...

So Mr know know...

What is the difference....The answer is simple...

The Black Man has a Black wicked heart that they cannot use to invent anything good...

They can fly to the Coven but cannot build an Aircraft because of the wickedness in their hearts..

The white man also flies to their coven but have conquered the moon and are now about to Colonize Mars.

We had huts, they had skyscrapers, that is the point

Now that there are houses

Can you live in a hut after living in an apartment building or a house concept brought by colonization.

They are building huts now all over the place in the West. It's called eco-living - using what we were using before, wood, bamboo, earth. lol..

Keep on juggling their balls in your throat.

Reading through this shameful post, I can very much agree with Black Americans: DE-LINEATE from Nigerians for your own safety.

I see why Nigeria was called the "Slave Coast": home of the house nigger.

I would had love to reply some comments, but I understand that nairaland had been infiltrated by intelligence agents paid all over the world , to dumb down the Nigeria youths. It's a fruitless endeavour.
Let them live & die as slaves. Hopefully a new generation of confident black men and women will arise.

It's a little bit more complicated than that, and the slave coast was an actual coast and there was nothing called Nigeria back then... You have to do proper research before talking about a topic.
But indeed some Nigerians are uncle Toms, but it's not just Nigerians, many Africans suffer from low self esteem. Many suffer from mental illness.

They are not building any hut in the west.

Europeans have a style of wood architecture that is commonly in the country side

We have a mud style because of availability of mud here in Africa

Dude try and stop lying here. In Lancaster 1956 following the talks for independence the British gave as a precondition for Nigeria's independence that all the boundaries of colonial Nigeria must not be redrawn in any form. All those present in the talks including Awolowo all signed. The British never wanted the north to be removed from Nigeria. Zik never forced anyone to remove secession clause. I have always asked people who peddle this lie that how can one man over rule everyone one else who had supported the secession clause in that meeting? No one has ever been able to provide me an answer

I want to ask you two simple questions that anyone can answer:
If at any point the North decided they no longer wanted to be part of Nigeria could Britain have stopped them??
Another:
Was it Britain that waged a war to force the East to stay in Nigeria??

Doesn't matter. Besides, Nigeria fought for OIL not tribal differences. North went from being begged to stay in Nigeria to fighting a war for the same ONE NIGERIA they did not want!

Yes, to an extent. But what do they owe us for destroying our traditional institutions and heritage?

Na ingratitude go kii many of you Africans. Even in personal relationships, you are some of the most ungrateful wretches that the world has to offer.

If you are so angry with the British that you are sure you gained absolutely nothing from them, the right way to start expressing your anger is to throw away everything you got through them - like this English you are speaking and this technology you are using.

This English and this tech are your only means of connecting with the world. It's now 60 years since the British left us, yet we are still much worse than they left us. Yet, we think we are wiser for hating on the British, just as we think we are wiser for hating on one another.

Read this short article: Another Blow On Igbo-Yoruba Rivalry and see how stupid this generation of Nigerians have become compared to past generations. We have been getting worse every day since the British left us my dear.

U BASTARD CAME TO OUR LAND TO KILL US, FOR 40 GOOD YEARS THE IGBO FOUGHT YOU OFF BUT U JUST REFUSE TO LEAVE IN THE EKUMEKU WAR.

U CREATED THE ENVIRONMENT FOR OUR PEOPLE TO BE ABDUCTED BY PROVDIING THE COASTAL DWELLERS WITH GUNS AND REWARD TO RAID OUR VILLAGES FOR SLAVES, THAT U DRAGGED ACROSS THE ATLANTIC OCEAN IN CHAINS TO THE AMERICAS, DUMPING THEIR DEAD BODIES IN THE SEA IF THEY DIED.

so? that does not negate the achievements of black people nor make us subhuman

No brother we are absolutely not subhuman. We are extremely intelligent and full of potential. But we do not develop our countries; we flee instead of fighting; we go to countries that have already been built without fighting and building ours. The rest of the advanced world has left us far behind and we are stuck in reveling in old glory.

This is why Nigeria will never improve, this kind of mentality is the reason why Nigerians like me in the diaspora look down on Nigerians back home

so stupid yet so arrogant, a strange mix of superiority and inferiority complex

how does a person say this kind of thing about not only themselves, but their entire race or ethnicity?

first of all, Colonisation in Africa was not the same as colonisation in Asia, due to the simple reason that we had resources, the Asian did not, at least not to our level

so our colonisation was extraction based, theirs was for trade,

why should we stay? look at the comments, if the Nigerians back home have already accepted that we cannot be better because we are somehow less than the Europeans, how can we get better without a serious change in mentality?

The diamond in the British Royal crown was not taken from Nigeria, but from Southern Africa.

To be realistic, his statement is true.

The British brought western education, hospitals and clinics, roads, new way of farming, improved farming tools and seeds etc, obviously they also brought their religion and churches.

I have watched lot of videos, to be sincere we should be thanking them.

Many of us will still be living in hut, sold as slaves, naked without electricity and no ambition
They also brought diseases. And don't forget we had traditional and inexpensive health remedies before they came. They came and set up a corrupt system of government which they can manipulate for their own advantage and they did this without our consent. I think without them, we would have been just fine just like our ancestors were

I fully agree.

Had these people not risked the seas to come here, either malaria or Arab slave raiders would have finished sub saharan Africa.

We vilify the white man but every single thing that prolongs and make life comfortable was invented by them.

Since they left in 1960, we've been retrogressing, instead of progress, in geometric progression.

Our traditional medicines couldn't solve many diseases. Many of us died off from malaria and other diseases we had.

Western medicine brought lot remedies to many diseases we had in Africa.

Without them we would have been fine and won't have been where we are right now.
