The corner of my room started cracking little by little some 3 or 4 years ago.. now it has gotten to this level. You can hear what the person at the other end is saying sometimes. It's so scary.

Every 30 minutes, I do hear sound of small sand particles falling off. Guys how can this be fixed and how much would it cost?

Treat as urgent house

Just fill it up with well mixed concentrated cement

All this are a result of greediness
Una nor dey want buy enough cement for molding blocks...
Imagine una go dey do 1 bag of cement for 50 block

Instead of maximum of 33 blocks..same mistakes people are doing..they will run to buy metcopo roofing not knowing that if the wood work is not done by professional you will suffer later...just go for long span roofing

Them dey see huzzle way I never first do..sometimes when people say I'm a keyboard warrior...I just laugh at them because they don't know what a real niggarrr have been through
I don first work for bakery, work for hotel. We don do legbuke
I don first work as civil servant.....federal government staff to be precise..got angry one day after realising there is no life in civil servant job...withheld salary sometimes, promotion arrears delayed..hazard allowance not found. I resigned..stupid ippis...I bought a laptop then I started keyboarding..first it was hell for seven months but when I received my first steam card of more than 500 dolls I realised there is hope

Get a structural engineer to take a look at your building and recommend and immediate fix.

When you see this crack on a building... Two things involve.....
1-the plot is full with gold. Means you build on top of plenty gold....
2- you blocked road for jin/spirit or ghost......

Urgently move out of that house first.

Okay the fact that this issue started about four years with the crack still increasing tells you that the problem is progressive. Remember, baba was not aware before he handed us over to T-Pain. The sound of sand you hear is because the house is giving way.
Possible cause.
1) A single line crack may suggest a bounding error during construction. This problems is less severe.
2). Settlement in the foundation as a result of poor soil formation ( loose soil, clay soil etc), inadequate foundation depth, poor quality of work, bad materials etc.

My guess is that the problem is from the foundation caused by soil settlement (movement or sinking of the soil underneath a building). From what is see the settlement is not localized. Meaning the problem is not at the very point where the crack is but some few meters away from that point.

Solution.

Underpinning. This however requires a technical and professional skill that the Mason that you now call engineer may not have. It will also cost you money.

My 10 kobo advice.

Whatever you do, that work cannot be done with you living inside that house. Also remember that the problem is progressive like APC, it will keeping getting worse. Never make the mistake of giving it time or vote, you may never live to tell the story.

Inadequate design, use of low-quality materials, incorrect concrete mixes, and poor workmanship during construction are common contributors to building cracks

The tieing was wrongly done where the pillar was supposed to be casted. Shows no pillar is used and the roof weight is on the wall directly. No reinforcement. It was done by a bricklaye. grin angry grin grin
