How do i handle this?

I am in Port Harcourt.
It's more than 2 months now, the agent has refused to refund my caution fee

I didn't spoil anything in the house, in fact, I didn't even stay in the house, because after renting it, my office gave me an apartment

I probably slept there for less than 20 nights in 1 year

Now the agent says the new tenant is painting the house because there were cobwebs in the house

And they are taking the money from my caution fee

I am really offended and angry

Please I need help for this outright scam and injustice

Who can help me? What do I do?

If you can spend 20k on police with your signed paper of when you paid the house documents, they can retrieve your complete 80k, or at worst 50k.

Getting a lawyer to intervene is the best thing but the amount involved won't let them lift a finger unless the person is just nice.

Agents single-handedly drove rent prices up in most places, sadly since we don't have a working system, you may not get your money back.

You don see police wey suppose help you are also thieves. Resort to self help or forget about the money.
