While you are given various sermons and messages in church, do you still receive messages on the coming of Christ?

Yes. It preaches that members should increase their tithe to 35% monthly despite the hardship so that when Jesus will come soon or latest next week Tuesday, they'll all go with him to enjoy their mansion in heaven.

How did I fall for this rubbish before self.

Even our mosque preach am!
Read number 8 below!

We will refer to Jesus as ‘Eesa throughout this article.

I will like to inform you that among what a Muslim must ''believe in'' is to believe in the Prophets as stated in the authentic Islamic texts. This Prophets includes Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses), Isma'eel (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Yaqoob (Jacob), Ayyob (Job), Yoonus (Jonah), Haroon (Aaron), Sulaiman (Solomon), Dawud (David), Idrees (Enoch), Dhul Kifl (Isaiah), Lut (Lot), Zakariyya (Zachariah), Ilyaas (Elijah), Al-Yasa (Elisha), Yahya (John), 'Eesa (Jesus) and Muhammad (Peace be upon them all). And the knowledge of their numbers belongs to Allah only! We believe all of them were sent by Allah to certain set of people. Some were given Inspired Books like Torah (Musa), Zabur (Dawud) Injeel ('Eesa), Qur'an (Muhammad), etc.

The beliefs of a Muslim towards ‘Eesa ibn Maryam (Jesus the son of Mary – peace be upon him).

1. Muslims do believe in ‘Eesa as a Prophet, a messenger and a noble slave of Allah sent to the children of Israel to call them to believe in Allah alone and to worship Him alone.

2. ‘Eesa was never a god or the son of God as the Christians claim.

3. We believe that Allaah supported him with miracles that proved he was speaking the truth. Many Prophets before him did miracles. The miracles includes ‘Eesa speaking while he was still in the cradle, breathing in to a clay bird making it turn to a live bird, healing the blind & lepers, quickening the dead, etc. All this happens solely with the permission of Allah.

4. We believe ‘Eesa has no father and his mother Maryam was a virgin. This is similar to Adam who has no father or Mother and Hawa (Eve) who has no mother but was created from Adam (peace be upon them both).

5. We believe that he permitted to the Jews some of the things that had been forbidden to them.

6. We believe that he did not die and his enemies the Jews did not kill him, rather Allaah saved him from them and raised him up to heaven alive.

7. We believe that he told his followers of the coming of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

8. We believe that he will come back down at the end of time, and will disprove the claim of his enemies the Jews that they killed him, and will disprove the claim of the Christians that he is God or the son of God, and he will not accept anything from them but Islam.

9. Then he will die and the Muslims will offer the funeral prayer for him and bury him.

These are the beliefs of a Muslim towards ‘Eesa ibn Maryam (peace be upon him) as founded in the Books of Islam.

We ask Allaah to make us steadfast in faith and to cause us to die as believers.
May the Peace and blessings of Allaah be upon all the Prophets and all those who follow their Sunnah till the day of recompense!

I've been wondering if Jesus is not really coming back again. I say this because churches today are no longer preaching about second coming. Prosperity is now the key message in all their sermons.

.. the only exceptions are those early morning preachers that go out at dawn with their bells.

Genuine salvation messages pricks the heart but when its sandwiched with motivation preaching, sin becomes less a worry and men die in droves

Which of the Churches? The one that retired their Senior Pastors at 58 years so that the family business will continue? If the Church thinks about the 2nd coming, the Chief Conman heading the Church would do better

Mtcheew.

Dis na one of d nonsense dem use spellbind us into believing foreign doctrines. There is no heaven, there is no hell. There is of course no rapture.

It's so painful that those who live unjustly or justly wil have no reward in a so-called 'afterlife'. We all just must get used to it. Male lions injure or sometimes kill other male lions just to have access to females in his zone. The largest / eldest croc would kill and chase off other male crocs in order to have exclusive access to mating and pond rights. There is nothing like after-life reward for these animals.

All those tales were simply manufactured to instill morals and decency into our society. That doesnt make it true. The idea that we have a soul or are the crown of creation is just self-deceit. You are a primate like other animals. You have two hands like an ape, you have 2 legs like a chimpanzee. You have two eyes, two ears, one nose, five digits, one four-chambered heart, a spine, warm-blooded, similar digestive, respiratory system etc. like all of them.

But when it comes to soul, you have and somehow they dont have. How convenient! To make ourselves feel special, we demean other life that are more special in their own ways. An eagle's vision is better than urs 8 times, you dont think they deserve a soul for heaven abi? Dolphins can use ultrasound to navigate, can you do that as a human? Migratory birds use the earth's magnetic fields for long-distance travel, can we do that? Yet they have no soul but you have abi?

Black man, think.

This is one of the most overlooked pillar of the believers.

If you are NOT well versed on the whole aspect of eschatology, you will effectively be a weak Christian and will be easily tossed about by “every wind of doctrine”

Infact we believe that most that will be “deceived” by the coming “LIE” will be because of their poor understanding of eschatology

Even my Winners Chapel sef dey hardly preach about second coming of Christ.
Eschatology means nothing in my over 2 decades of worship with Winners.
But while I was in Deeper life years, fear of hell fires 🔥, missing rapture, sin consciousness, some impossible puritanical lifestyle were my headaches as there's no balance teachings as can be tracked by the gospel of Matthew Mark Luke and John.

Today as Bible Scholar of the whole Truth of God's word all I can say is... Study to make yourself approved unto God... so that Men with agenda won't use you as experimental Guinea Pigs.

I REST MY CASE

The Second Coming of Jesus was anticipated by early Christians as an event that would occur soon after His death, bringing about the fulfillment of God's kingdom. However, since it did not happen within the expected timeframe of 2,000 years, Christians are now encouraged to focus on living righteous, loving lives in the meantime. The emphasis is on following Jesus' teachings—loving one another, living in faith, and striving to live morally and justly—until the eventual return, whenever that may be.

Most have come to realise the story is just what it is, "A story". Most of them have become realistic, getting a good story to make Magas drop their hard earned money while the pastors enjoys the 1st,2nd and even 3rd coming while still alive.
