Can you confidently guarantee with absolute certainty and put your reputation on the line to vouch that Afe Babalola has never, throughout his entire career as a lawyer, engaged in or facilitated the manipulation of justice or influenced court decisions in his favour?

And why exactly should I do that? What’s my gain? Was I there when he was practicing?

Is the statement of a JSC law?
At the bolded... Has the case been tried before to consider whether it falls under a criminal offense or not? Or was it hastily declared without due process to be a criminal offense?

The judgement of the Supreme Court is a law except it is departed from or a new law is made to remedy it.

The case does not need to be tried as a civil case first before determining if civil fines will be enough remedy. If the petitioner feels right from the start that he want to pursue criminal charges, that’s his choice. You can’t beat someone and still dictate to the person how to cry.

Yeah, and this legal procedure involves attempted kidnapping and scheming to lure the employees of the accused?

Arresting a suspect is not kidnapping.

Did you see the video and details of how Dele was arrested? It's concerning. Even street hawkers are not subjected to such bullying and manhandling. Dele is a renowned human rights activist and lawyer of high repute. If his claims in the book lack evidence, he should indeed face the law. However, the law stipulates that arrests should be conducted without violence, provided the individual does not resist. Upholding this principle is fundamental to justice and the rule of law.

It is wrong to from this case to presume that the learned gentleman procure Judgement from the court, because the vexed interest is massive for one individual to tilted judgement in his favour ... I didn't know it is the Eletu of Osapa London that is causing all this beef. They already purchased the land , so the Judgement against the Lagos State Government should not in anyway remove their rights, since it was still purchased from the Ojomu family ... I smell biase and he should apologize for writing such ridiculous piece in a book. It looks like you are actually defaming the Nigeria Judiciary the way I see it.

The reason for the public out cry is because of the manner with which he was whisked away. Defamation is criminal offence. Charge him to court while harassing him with police

You wan use your money buy books for your people wey no fit read and comprehend anything beyond 5 lines? Kontinew cool

adonainana:
Please does anyone have a link where I can get the book from

I plan of ordering like 10

And run promo ads on instagram to make the book more popular

There must be something in that book that is worth reading

Thank God it’s a book

Before the mumu SAN starts arresting anyone for reading a book

Someone defamed you using a pen and paper and you can’t use the same pen and paper to defend yourself and refute all allegations

All you can do is ARREST and bribe a judge to imprison them

Which country can this work in except Nigeria

So what we now happen if we criticise or defame tinubu he can just kill us and notjing will happen

This is not rule of law I’m afraid

The SAN should be extremely disappointed and ashamed

You didn’t teach anyone a lesson

If I was the Dele journalist once I get bail I will write more books and even criticise and repeat what I have already said that the SAN bribes judges and even use the last experience he had

The worse is prison , from prison he can even write more books

By fire by force we must make the country better and stop oppression

Pls who has a link to where I can get a copy of the book so I can do my part and run advertising promo for it

It’s a criminal offense in Ekiti, the state of residence of the petitioner.

Then it is obvious you are a newbie in Legal dictates.

It is the place where the crime allegedly took place that COUNTS. Not the location of the petitioner.

So, Are Babalola is fighting a lost case and he will definitely pay for it with his chequered reputation.

That is if he will have any reputation to protect after this case that has been strongly condemned by ALL men and women of goodwill, justice and fairness.

For the fact that I'm not trained as a lawyer, I can call myself a layman. But an educated one. Nigeria is corrupt no doubt. The system is corrupt & the judicial system is very corrupt!
Aare Afe Babalola has contributed immensely to the growth of legal profession in Nigeria. It's a fact. But this case is neither here nor there. Dele talks too much sometimes. For example, he said Asiwaju didn't not win. So who won? He said he stole it! The case went to the Supreme Court & he won fair & square.
Now, if Afe Babalola thinks he has a good case, he should have gone to court instead of using his connection to hound Dele. Afe saw that Dele was out to rubbish everything he has worked for &,, he wanted to fight him with everything he has got.
I'm watching keenly. Hands on my jaw.

The book was sold, distributed and read in Ekiti. The petitioner lives in Ekiti. Ekiti state high court has absolute jurisdiction to hear the case.

But Afe Babalola first defamed Dele Farotimi.

Babalola will explain for the rest of his life why Farotimi deserves the present detention for mere defamation.
Tinubu wants to become Idi Amin Dada for Nigeria. That's what brought Dele Farotimi to detention.

It's impossible to debate with Tinubu urchinss because they don't tell the truth. They tell themselves the falsehood of they are more informed than others.

Dele Farotimi is an unabashed critic of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Farotimi detests the APC.
Afe Babalola is just being used by Aso Rock powers to detain Farotimi.

Tinubu urchinss know this but would like to tell you that defamation is even a terrorist offence that requires imprisonement before trial.

How Dele Farotimi defamed me, By Afe Babalola

The petition by Aare Babalola, dated November 9, 2024, to the Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State explicates the gravamen of his complaints to the police and the pedestal of his action against Farotimi.

Asterisked are defamatory portions in Dele Farotimi’s foreword in his book that stirred the hornets’ nest

We all know that majority of those claiming omo onile in Lekki / Ajah axis today are all land grabbers, after the military government through Gov Raji Rasaki ousted the real land owners by demolishing the whole of old Maroko - the war started since 70s through 80s ntil finally implemented in 1990. At that time, while people were residing in those areas, they used the lie of flood to threaten and evict people - Today, the flood is still a problem. I was born in Maroko in 1979, we had houses at old Awoyaya, Aworetan, Olukotun but lost all. We temporarily moved to Ikoyi, then to Ajegunle until we found ourselves in Badagry.
Unfortunately, it was military era, no compensation was done, you can't even challenge them it's an order you had to obey. Most families lost their loved ones, some, entire family etc. Many relocated elsewhere, along the coastal areas of Lagos, Makoko, Ibeshe and inland etc

I believe Dele Farotimi saw something and knew what he wants……. Nigeria is not good today is not only the handiwork of political leaders alone. Other foremost lawyers have fraudulently assisted our leaders to achieve selfish means.
No matter what I stand with Dele Farotimi

You’re probably the dummy here. So if I accuse politicians and traditional leaders of failing to develop a state, it automatically means libel and defamation?

You’re comparing two things that are totally different.

If you're being defamed, you go to court and sue the defamer.

When are we going to get it right in this country?

Hope you know there was a bench warrant against Dele which he himself acknowledged in the video circulating yesterday?

The police at that point have the right to pick him up.

He can now explain better what he wrote about Afe Babalola in his book and show the court the evidence of his claim. Then the court can free him and Afe Babalola will be shamed. Simple as ABC
