My inverter reading is different from the reading on my battery itself, which is in turn different from the reading on the BMS app on my phone grin

For example rn, inverter says 27.2v, battery display says 26.8v, and the app says 27.0v. It's a clusterfuck.
I tire, I think reading a multimeter at the battery terminals should be the most accurate.

How long jhave you been using the battery? Battery most possibly gone bad!

Just 6 months.

Just 6 months.

That's strange.I have 2 units of tubular that clocked 3 years in October and it is still going very strong and it isn't even connected to solar. You need to investigate why the electrolyte dried up because even at 6 months you should just be about topping with distilled water and it would even be little. What is the brand of tubular in question? There are a lot of useless tubular batteries in the market now.Mi me is Haus Strom though and I know their products are very good.Having to top of with 10 litres of distilled water means you have practically no electrolyte left.Battery is gone.Whats the name of the battery?

Lol, the 555kw is huge. I broke 2 panels just transporting them to my rural settlement. Imagine the 650w+

I know one day, new technologies for solar panels will reduce its size....

One day 555 watts Jinko Panel will have size and weight like 40w panel.

Don't use hot water o!
I don't think panels can be 100% clean this period until rainy seasons.
The best you can do is cleaning them to get most of the dust off em.

HeavenlyBang:
How do I clean my panels?

I've tried hosing them with a some dish soap and water, then just water, but there remains a thin layer of dust/grime on them.

Not sure how much that affects my output, though, but I want them as clean as possible. Do I try using hot water?

Not happening anytime soon.

Current solar panels are just about 20% efficient (convert around 20% of solar energy that reaches the surface of the panel into electricity), with the rest being effectively wasted. There are both material and physical limits to the efficiency of panels, and I'd be surprised if mass-production solar technology even got to 40% efficiency in my lifetime.

Current record is under 50% and those panels are built with materials that are completely untenable for consumer use.

Africell and Twintech, 180watts each. Connected in parallel.

am using one 200w africel and am getting 5A,....so i expect the 2panel should give you 11A in series......pwm controller is okay for 12/20v panel but it is a waste for 36/42v panel cos the excess voltage is waste....if your panel is 36/42v i will advise you to go with mppt.

i need 200w 12/20v panel...08036432383

Yes they re both 12/20V panels with max current of 10. However the highest current I get from their parallel connection is around 4.5Amps-5Amps. The highest voltage is 14.8Volts.

I just did a quick test on both Panels separately around 4:50pm today. Here are my observations:

Africell 13.5V, 1.1Amp = 14.85Watts
Twin Tech 13.5V, 0.9Amp = 12.15Watts
Parallel connection of both 13.6V 1.6Amp = 21.76Watts

The connection should have given me 27Watts, but I’m getting 21Watts, which is very bad. What do you think of the whole thing?

Can this protect my inverter from surge damage or lightning strike.
I also see people mention DC breaker, is it better for protection?

No. This is just an ordinary over/under voltage delay protection

Panel orientation, air flow, and cable length are super keys to output generation. My test pv of 190w bought used few years output average of 7a on a good sunlight. Pv : 38v 10a max and surprisingly during September before this dusty days, I experienced 9.7,9.8 and 9.9a max. I was surprised to see this though that I had to use a clamp meter to confirm and it was affirmative......Keeper's series powmr 20a mppt.

Hello great people of Nairaland,
Please any suggestion of a short blade ceiling fan that blows like it’s the end of the world but doesn’t consume more than 60W max?
Standing fans prices these days are ridiculously high
