Hello house.

Please long does dependents visa from Nigeria typically takes after biometrics? #Ikeja or VI

My wife just got her COS with NHS and got her visa approved within 8 hours of application.
I'm currently in the UK with her, on a visitor's visa but I plan coming to Nigeria for my biometrics appointments.

My reapplication has taken more about 4 weeks now.
They just sent me this email today after sending me an email on the 23rd of December that my application has arrived their office, it’s now taking them like 2 weeks to even start considering it.
I think there’s a huge load on them, so if your application is delayed, just be patient.
Funny enough I don’t even need this UK visa again, I already got an E-Visa to visit South Africa. 🇿🇦
They should do their review and return my passport.

I think they have huge load onto hem just like you said.
Did you appeal or reapply afresh?

It is not about huge load, your case requires more time as they have said - seeing your refusals in the last 1 month, the complaints review process and now a fresh application. Same applicant.

What documents did you upload for your biometrics?
I have my visa application done but yet to book biometrics appointment, and I was only asked to show proof of financial maintenance and the proof immigration status of my wife.

I don't know if marriage proofs, like marriage certificates, photos, are necessary since they didn't ask.

Any documents that you feel would help your case, should be added, except if you're told not to

If you're looking for a human questionnaire, you don't need to look further than this thread.

Since 2024 asking questions, including frivolous ones that have been answered.

At some points, it will appear like spam or trolling.

Budget: £1.5k just for flights and miscellaneous.
Duration: 2 months
Will stay in daughter's house
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by b31164707: 10:21pm On Jan 10
Alright, cool. I'm planning to budget like £1,132 for a week (including flights and excluding accommodation). It might seem like a lot just for one week, but one of the cheapest round-trip flights from Lagos to London is like £632 (approx. 1.2 million Naira) on Kenya Airways, then budgeting about £500 for living expenses for one week, which should be reasonable. To be honest, if flights weren't this pricey, there's no way I'd be planning to spend slightly more than £1,000 just to visit London for a week.

Sorry about the disappointment.

In my opinion, the application wasn't denied due to insufficient proof of funds but the discrepancies in her nature of business/trade vs statement of account.

I feel you should have just stated that she is unemployed instead, and that she depends on you and perhaps other family members. I think that would have sufficed.

It will be nice to hear from those who have been in this kind of situation before for proper guidance on how to reapply.

Cheers!

Hello everyone!
I did my biometric on the 2nd of Jan at vfs ikeja (priority) and till now I’ve not gotten a mail or any response. I’m having serious anxiety as regards this. The money paid for priority is not small and I thought it’ll hasten the process but Omo, it’s not. It’s still the same. It’s over 5 working days and I’m lost as regards what could be causing the whole delay. I have gone through this thread and, I saw a link to track the application only to see that a decision has not been made at all. Like…did they forget I paid for priority? I’m just tired. I know this looks like a rant but I’m honestly anxious and worried.

Do a paid call or email

Sorry for the refusal.

The first red flag I can see here is the budget of over £5k for a less than 1 month visit. Omo, it is too much oo. It connotes desperation and raises an eyebrow as to the importance of the travel given her paltry annual income as a petty trader and expenses. My MIL's budget for a 2 month visit was just £1.5k.
Another factor is age. If your mum is in her 50s or less, ECOs tend to scrutinise such applications heavily and pick minor things and hold them against the applocant. So one needs to be extremely careful in making an application for such person.
Lastly, just like someone said. It would have been safe to say she was unemployed and safe yourself the stress of explaining.

Lastly, try and get a letters of consent from Dad and family members in Nigeria as home ties to backup her application.

Thank you so much for your response
We just felt since we were fully sponsoring her,we needed to put something a little high and that’s why we added the £5k, she’s in her late 50s, we added consent letter from my dad and also stated that my siblings are in Nigeria too,we added our family pics too
I just felt the mistake we made was stating she’s a petty trader,we would have just said unemployed to avoid all this issues,
Just confused about how best to apply again in other not to get a another refusal

Please I need an advice on the following please and your input here will be really appreciated.

My mum, had visited last time on a 6months visa and I want to apply this time for 2years. My questions..

1. I want to now say she is unemployed and we are supporting her but the last time we applied that she was self employed.
How do I go about wording it, in her cover letter or letter of introduction..

2. She visited our GP about twice when she was not feeling well, she also got registered and had her NHS number. Do I declare it and what impact do you sense it will have in the application.

Your response will truly go a long way..

God bless us all.

Thanks

Good afternoon everyone, happy new year. Please I have a question regarding the selfsponsorship route for nurses to UK.

When gathering documents for visitor visa application, will the applicant need to have a lot of money in her account bearing in mind that there is a sponsor in the UK with good bank statement and accommodation? Thanks for your response.

Good evening,

I'm in need assistance with booking a medical appointment through the IOM website. Initially, I made an error in my date of birth (Their website did actually, added a day to my DOB), so I promptly cancelled the appointment. However, when I attempted to rebook, I received an error message stating that I already have an appointment scheduled.

Can I visit IOM Office on Monday to book?
