In a historic moment, Chief Bar. Uche Okwukwu has been elected as the President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, becoming the first Ikwerre man to hold the esteemed position.

The election, held today, January 10, 2025, comes amidst controversy over a previous election conducted on January 5, 2025, by a factional body of Ohaneze Ndigbo, which announced Chief Dr. Jackson Omenazu, another Ikwerre man, as President. These are Igbo men from Rivers state.

I want to see if they'll shun the Ikwerre man and say again that Ikwerre is not Igbo. Or if they will not say such. Or if they will congratulate him and foster unity.

Wike is from Bini. We don’t know him. Odili was a Biafran soldier and full blooded Igbo man. Amaechi is Igbo when it suits him but we still welcome him as one of us.

Oh please! Rotimi Amaechi has never said he wasn't Ibo. Infact, he has been at the front burner, declaring to the world how Ikwerre is Ibo.
