So if an electrician do a shoddy job for me, I can't criticize him? Bear it in mind, I pay for his services.

But what will be the moral compass of another electrician who will even do a worse job to increase the other electrician?

If I subscribe my DSTV by paying a fee to Multichoice who in turn pay for TV right, then I have every right to criticize those players who were supposed to entertain me if they play rubbish.

Do you think I will pay sub fee if every team played like Everton? I would simply consider football as not entertaining enough and won't pay for it.
The justification you are giving to be able to criticize players is that you subscribed to dstv yet you are also saying pundits who are payed to offer their insights and professionally critique those players with an addition of being ex players themselves should not call them out for playing nonsense lmao. You with zero knowledge of being a professional footballer can call out players but ex footballers hired as pundits should not call them out. Once again can you actually hear your self?

Wrong. I can criticize a poor electrician for not doing an excellent job but another electrician who is worse than the previous one has no right to criticize him.

I have the right to demand you improve in your profession but imagine your colleague who is worse than you criticising you harshly.

You have the right because you are paying for the service

So who are you paying in Chelsea currently, for you to have the right to demand any service?

The pundits too are paying for it.

So what exactly are you doing that is exceptional?

If paying for DSTV gives you rights, why can't it give the same to a Shitty player that pays too?

Trump should know that Russia is not afraid of economic sanctions.
There was sanctions yet they took Crimea
The same sanctions didn't stop them from defending the breakaway Ukrainian regions.

The victory or bargaining power you didn't achieve on the battle field cannot be achieved through threat of economic sanctions... not against a very powerful and formidable foe like Russia.
Russia is selling their gas in rubbles.

I think you need to refer back to constructive criticism and destructive criticism. I expect pundits to criticize constructively, I also pay to watch that too.

The TV right money which I contribute to gives me that right. I don't criticize Fernabache players, I don't watch them cos I can't pay to watch them.

I also expect pundits to criticize in a constructive and professional manner. That's what they are paid to do.

So you think that those retired millionaire footballers who have homes with their families living in them do not contribute to TV right money?

Or is it that you think they are homeless and live in the TV studio?

Kimbeast is right on this one.

If you say a pundit (whether as a shitty player) has no right to criticize a player, then we sef no suppose talk at all.

Imagine saying someone whose job actually requires him to criticise footballers has no right to criticise but you whose job is actually to support footballers ( as a football supporter) has such a right.

People, some of who could not make their secondary school team or even their class team are good enough to criticise professional footballers but those who went beyond that and were actual pros have no right.

Very makanaki something.

He's been seriously misinformed on the war or how to broker peace because he still has all those CIA shills like Rubio around him. Deep state hacks cosplaying neocons.

Putin has all the leverage and by the Trump realizes it he'll fire some people to save face. Typical Donald. Once I saw that post, I just laughed.

He has been making really funny jokes about Brest. He once said "I like the shape of them" with his funny scouse accent. When Kate jokingly asked him if brest can get exposed in tonight's game, he responded " I hope so".

Funny enough, I actually thought Jamie was quite hilarious and more quick witted in relation to the whole Brest commentary.

Think it's just a matter of perspective

Kate herself went too far by saying 'would they come a bit quicker for brest tonight' and even Jamie sef had to caution her. but it's all fun grin

She doesn't have good wordplay to resort to that low hanging fruit. If Gary Lineker was there, he would have finished them with wordplay. Gary can pull any wordplay out of his hat. You would be hearing things like 'the success of Brest isn't measured with cups", "Barcelona couldn't milk the opportunities Brest presented", "Brest are strapped in for a difficult game". "Red card led to Brest reduction".

There was one World Cup match Argentina flogged Serbia and Montenegro, and Linker and Wright were just coming up with wordplays about how S&M got a good whipping, I nearly fell off my chair

Last week I was at my sister's, and we were discussing how and why I didn't play professional football despite being a talented amateur footballer back then. She was curious as to why I didn't pursue a career in football, and I reminded her how our mum would not even allow me go for training while my mates whom we play set together had registered at a local academy where they all train.

Back then our parents see playing football as a means to waste away your future. There are enough bros in the area who followed the path of football and never made it to professional level despite being very good footballers. This speaks to the number 1 fact in that guy's thread which states that only about 1% of youth players make it to professional level. We had so many of those bros who wasted their years going for trainings, playing local competitions and even going outside the country for trials strictly on self-sponsorship level.

Some of those bros are now in their 40's now, no skill whatsoever, they didn't learn a trade and don't have education beyond ND at most. This dampened the spirit of parents, and they forbade most of their kids from towing that same line. The few ones who made it to play in NPFL, other African country leagues and eastern Europe quickly relocated their parents. Even when those ones come around and bring agents to do preliminary talent hunt/trials at the local field, the few people who still get selected still have to deal with possibility of rejection when they go for trial outside the country. The margin of success was just too low that parents will force their kids to go to school over choosing a career in football.

However, now with the advent of social media and youtube being a veritable tool for posting clips of how good an amateur player is; I think the odds are much better in favor of the young talents.

that is why successful first generation athletes and artistes are usually from very poor backgrounds. they never had anything to lose in the first place. but you already have opportunities available to you - and your parents were weighing the risks.

and it is much worse with football in particular which has a very narrow window in which you can hammer.

You are very correct ; the few people who made it are those whose parents couldn’t afford to send them to higher institutions even if they wanted to . They are mostly people who struggled to finish secondary school despite being beneficiaries of Lagos state free education up to secondary school level .

For those who had options, their parents encouraged them to have good SSCE result to have a good shot at university and then make something out of their degree in the future .
