The decision by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery to reduce the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) on Saturday night came at huge costs to many petroleum marketers, The PUNCH reports.Source: https://punchng.com/Dangote-price-slash-Marketers-with-imported-fuel-fear-losses 8 Likes 1 Share

Marketers who spoke to our correspondent said the sudden price reduction by the Dangote refinery must have been occasioned by the recent warnings that some traders were planning to resort to importation if the foreign PMS remains cheaper than the ex-depot prices of locally refined products. When would the presidency look into this marketers who have been the pain in the ass not only to the government but Nigeria masses? 49 Likes |

helinues:No, the market is fully deregulated and pricing is out of the PPPRA's hands. It is now sorely due to competition. If retailers feel imported petrol is cheaper, let them as this will ensure that private refineries do not hold the customers to ransome. And then it is also the business of these private refineries to make sure they sell lower than the imported price this makes importing unlucrative. If the government puts higher import duties on imported fuel, local refineries won't compete, all they will do is just make sure their prices are a bit lower and they win even though it can be lower 52 Likes 8 Shares |

The price slash is not for us, it is part of his monopoly game. This is one best thing this man knows how to do, that's how we have no major cement competitor today and then he keeps tuning the price up like radio frequency Once he runs all the marketers out of business, he starts play chess game with the price... we are in for a long ride 80 Likes 9 Shares |

Favorable Global crude oil prices and having a functional refinery contributed to this. If only it can fall lower than ₦500 per L 10 Likes 1 Share |

Sensational news. Is the amount significant? Slash it x% today then increase by x*3% next week. Then bring down to x+1% in the two weeks time. Increase again by x*5% in four weeks time. Maybe all of us no well for this country. https://youtube.com/shorts/b0AwH4lY2nU?si=E9JMM863-67oRLwP 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Most of these importers are a major part of the problem. They'll do anything possible to make sure they don't run at a loss, even if it means putting the whole nation at a disadvantage. 4 Likes |

Re: Dangote Price Slash: Marketers With Imported Fuel Fear Losses by Babamide(m): 6:20am |
Chukwuisgreat:Abi ooo my brother. They would be using the term price splash for a 6.3% reduction. It was said that Dangote adjusted the price about 3 weeks ago and he is readjusting again because marketers were looking to import cheaper. I believe he can afford to sell a lot cheaper but our mumu never do. 2 Likes 1 Share |
