Truthseeker10: I said, there's nothing wrong in seeing a doctor. But it is good, ultimately, to seek God first. You see, king Asa did not die because he sought the physicians rather than God, but the Bible says, Asa did not sought God concerning his sickness. Pleasing God is acting by faith; and faith comes by hearing the word of God. You are a good guy Truthseeker. But let's put God's word first above all else, however good the intention notwithstanding. |

ocnovakmichael:Has a person who does not seek God first done something wrong? |
Re: As A Winner Must I Attend Service In Canaan Land? by ocnovakmichael(m): 11:08am On Feb 06 |
Truthseeker10: The Bible did not say king Asa did a wrong thing for not seeking God first concerning his sickness. Rather, the Bible says, "... Yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians." The import of that statement is that Asa should have sought the LORD first. |

Re: As A Winner Must I Attend Service In Canaan Land? by ocnovakmichael(m): 12:59pm On Feb 06 |
Truthseeker10: Dear brother, I have piped to you, yet you wouldn't dance. Seeking God is hearing from Him and living and acting on his words. The Bible says, "Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him" (Hebrews 10:38). |

Re: As A Winner Must I Attend Service In Canaan Land? by ocnovakmichael(m): 1:15pm On Feb 06 |
Truthseeker10: Seeking God is hearing from Him and leaving and acting on his words. The Bible says, "Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him" (Hebrews 10:38). Asa sought not the Lord, but to the physicians, and he died. 2 Chronicles 16:12-13 [12]And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians. [13]And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign. |

ocnovakmichael: So if I go to the hospital when I am sick, am I seeking God first according to James 5:14? Yes or no? King James Bible Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: |
Re: As A Winner Must I Attend Service In Canaan Land? by ocnovakmichael(m): 1:41pm On Feb 06 |
Truthseeker10: Brother when you're sick, first and foremost, do exactly what James 5:14 says, even if you will eventually see a physician, "Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord..." |
Re: As A Winner Must I Attend Service In Canaan Land? by Truthseeker10: 1:52pm On Feb 06 |
ocnovakmichael:If I do exactly what James 5:14 says, why do I still need a physician? |
Re: As A Winner Must I Attend Service In Canaan Land? by ocnovakmichael(m): 1:58pm On Feb 06 |
Truthseeker10: I said "even if" you will eventually see a physician. This means you might not need to: because the Bible says, the Lord shall raise him up! James 5:14 [14] is there any sick among you, let him call for the elders of the church, and let them anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith shall save the sick. And if he has committed sins, the Lord shall raise him up. |

ocnovakmichael:Why should there be an "even if" after following James 5:14? |
Re: As A Winner Must I Attend Service In Canaan Land? by ocnovakmichael(m): 2:09pm On Feb 06 |
Truthseeker10: That's because it's according to your faith. One could believe when he's prayed for, he would receive his healing. Another could believe when he's prayed for, and he sees a physician, God would direct the hand of the physician to effect the much-needed healing. Faith is in levels and measures. |

ocnovakmichael:So which one has greater faith in the example above? Is the second example in line with James 5:14? |
Re: As A Winner Must I Attend Service In Canaan Land? by ocnovakmichael(m): 2:17pm On Feb 06 |
Truthseeker10: If you know the category you belong to as explained, then you will receive according to the measure of your faith. 1. Peter had a little faith and he was able to walk on water for a while. 2. The woman with the issue of blood had great faith that when she touch the hem of Jesus' garment she would be healed: and she was healed. It is according to your faith! |

Re: As A Winner Must I Attend Service In Canaan Land? by ocnovakmichael(m): 2:21pm On Feb 06 |
Truthseeker10: It is according to your faith. I had already expalined that earlier: but it bears repeating ... One could believe when he's prayed for, he would receive his healing. Another could believe when he's prayed for, and he sees a physician, God would direct the hand of the physician to effect the much-needed healing. Faith is in levels and measures. |

ocnovakmichael:So where does James 5:14 say we should go to a doctor? If you can't answer that question then you are teaching false doctrine. Was Asa given the instruction in James 5:14? |
Re: As A Winner Must I Attend Service In Canaan Land? by ocnovakmichael(m): 8:58pm On Feb 06 |
Truthseeker10: Brother you are the very one that asked the questions that if a man is sick and go see a doctor, if he has sinned or not. I have not changed what I bagn declaring to you since you asked that question, that the Bible says in James 5:14 James 5:14 [14]Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: This is word of the Lord. When the sick act on it, the prayer of faith shall heal the sick and if he's committed sins, the Lord shall raise him up. You see, concerning the sick, the Spirit asked the question: Jeremiah 8:22 [22]Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered? This text is speaking to the healing anointing in Christ Jesus. And the Spirit is asking why are my people not accepting the healing which Jesus had already wrought for them (Matthew 8:17)? The answer to that question as touching divine healing is given here below: Jeremiah 46:11 [11]Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: in vain shalt thou use many medicines; for thou shalt not be cured. That text just got through saying, go up to Gilead and take balm. That is, accept the healing which Jesus has wrought already because in many medicines thou shall not be cured. You see, sickness has a spiritual cause: sin (Act 10:38). In the world of medicine there is a saying, "We treat, but God cures." All the sick need to do is act on God's word! |

Re: As A Winner Must I Attend Service In Canaan Land? by ocnovakmichael(m): 12:53pm On Feb 07 |
Truthseeker10: Off course, James 5:14 did not say is any one sick, let one see a physician. Rather, the text says, Is any sick among you, let him call for the elders of the church, and let them anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord: the prayer of faith shall save the sick. And if he's committed sins, the Lord shall raise him up. Truthseeker, all you need to do when you're sick is to stand on that verse in James 5:14, and the prayer of faith will heal you. But I will not have any man bound because faith is in measures. Therefore, if any have faith to be healed according to James 5:14 let it be according to his faith. And if any have faith that after being prayed for, if he see a physician, God would direct the hands of the physician to effect the much-needed healing, let it be according to his faith. For God is ever faithful to reach us and help us at every measure of our faith. Jesus is Lord! |

ocnovakmichael:Do you have authority more than James 5:14? If James 5:14 does not say we should go to a doctor according to you, why are you now saying that there is nothing wrong in seeing a doctor? Why are you adding to the word of God? |

Truthseeker10: 1 Corinthians 14:38 [38]But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. Don't be ignorant as touching this matter. I believe you could read. Let me put it here in plain sight again: Jeremiah 46:11 [11]Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: in vain shalt thou use many medicines; for thou shalt not be cured. James 5:14 [14]Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: |
