If it is 5 for 2, 2bn OS will just become 5bn OS and your unit holdings will multiply by 2.5.
It's still the same thing....
5bn new shares will be added...
Making 7bn total new OS

We are all just speculating here ni oooo 😁
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeeKudi: 1:34pm On Mar 06
If you are just starting and you are interested in an immediate or near term result, do not buy OR do not pit all your money in ELLAHLAKES for now.
ELLAHLAKES has the potential to make you a billionaire in the (maybe, distant or not so distant) future.

Valthegreat:

Thanks for the information. This is like the exception to the rule I wanted to understand.
Please is the current price a good buy zone?

Not excatly, dear sister. If it is 5 for every 2 held, it means they want to transform 2units to 5units, that is, 2bn OS will just become 5bn and not adding 5bn new shares.

Or, maybe I am getting it wrong? Abeg, we will see it when it happens. Lol

Don't get confused, my brother. Our quest for money (mulah) is real and can be confusing at times grin grin
You have 2 shares in your hand, already. No one is taking those 2 shares away from you.
If you now receive 2 new shares for every 2 held; your total number of shares become 4
If you receive 3 new shares for every 2 shares held, your total number of shares become 5
So, if you receive 5 new shares for every 2 shares held, your total number shares come 7.

ELLAHLAKES recently (yesterday) listed 1.1bn additional shares on NGX at N2.80......this listed shares being the conversion of debt owed to Equity.
Even though this has increased ELLAHLAKES OS from 2.7bn to 3.8bn, I think it's a good step aimed at cleaning the balance sheet and positioning the company for more value enhancement and near future profitability.
This could be the reason for not falling and reason why it will probably not fall below N3 for longer time.....barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Lol. That's my own understanding of it.

Mercy on the beat 👍

Mcy is right, then.

But, would that dilution not be too much?
They should just release the report and let's see what happens.
Thanks.

Cleaning of the balance sheet with the debt equity swap is a good one especially as they install their processing plant very soon.

Interesting times ahead for the company.

This is why short-term investing is just gambling. Anything can happen in the short run. In the long run, though, we all revert to six inches fundamentals.

I really appreciate your fantastic efforts.
They may not be seeing all these your great efforts in the midst of the tensions and anxiety in NGX, but when you hit the jackpot and goldmine very soon, then some people would start to do ''ganu si'' by asking ''how/where/when did he make his money''?

When a self-proclaimed judge does not understand his subject, can we say that his judgment is null and void?

Look at the financial notes on page 58—they clearly state that the revaluation includes physical assets, from land to computers and even furniture (even aircraft grin), adding up to over ₦400 billion. This matches what is reported on the income statement.

So, I was correct—any other company could revalue its furniture and add billions.

Truely you argue just to win but not to learn.
In which account principle is revaluation on asset recorded as additional income and taxed.
So how is depreciation on asset value recorded.i guess as loss and then taxed too.
And I never said on any of my post I was hoping on naira gain concerning my investment on sugar. How is that possible on investment I started buying since IPO.Do you know the yr sugar and flour IPO happened .For sugar I was not even given the quantity I bided. I had a refund of cash.

If I sell sugar @ #30 because of my yrs of averaging up....I will still be on #6 gain.If I remove dividend of past yrs it still comes down.
Yes I still regret not selling at #80.though it has always been part of retirement portfolio.

Bolded, not really.

But, the little green we are seeing now keeps reminding me of Oracle’s trap basket and if care is not taken, the red we are seeing now may be a testing of the mic. Regardless of the dividend by the banks, some financial institution may use the opportunity to offload their kaya, thereby making the market to go down more. In addition, I do not see the banks performing excellently this year because the forex gains that contributed to their excellent financial results last year may not be there this year, coupled with their over-bloated outstanding shares. You and I know that the upward/downward movement in the price of bank stocks dictate the direction of the market. Even the outlook for oil is not looking good in the next months. However, this does not mean that all stocks will go down together. Some stocks will still present opportunity for people to make money despite the reds in the market.

I sold 85% of my holdings last week, the remaining 15% are stocks that has forcefully turn me to an investor like @emmanuelewumi grin. Like Sky aviation which I bought at N24 but does not have enough volume for me to sell since 2 weeks ago.

However, it is pertinent to note that I donated 14% of the loot I made before 15th January 2025 to the market as part of my corporate social responsibility and greed. For now, I have decided to stay on the sideline and watch how events unfold in the market in the next 2 months. It is good to be a spectator and not a participant at NSEMPA when e-fight starts due to the red in the market.

Above is a personal opinion please.
You're a skilled master of the game, along with numerous other Snr Analysts and gurus in the house.

I feel honoured you used my comment to share with estemed members some of your latest masterly moves and experiences.

Many of these resonate with my own sentiments and experiences.
For instance Snr Analyst Emma's aversion to short term trade or JIJO is well known.

One day I wrote here:
"When your short term trade turns awry, you turn it to investment".

(In other words, when you get trapped in JIJO, you convert to long term).

Out of nowhere, Emma emerged and quipped:
"Bear-induced investment" grin grin

I still suppress laughter when I remember that encounter. grin
We enjoy a lot of happy conversations here.

I'm watching this latest crude oil's dance steps a bit nervously, and prayerfully wishing it back up above $70.
A lot depends on it in our petrodollar economy, in our market and in our portfolios.

This will be good if it's true

5 for 2 or 2 for 5?

AFRIPRUD currently have 2bn OS
How many will this translate to thereafter?

If it's 2:5... 2bn + 400m = 2.4bn ....this looks small

If it's 5:2.... 2bn + 5bn = 7bn

If its 1:1.... 2bn + 2bn = 4bn

Hope my Arithmetics is correct sha
We're awaiting the Corporate Action.......😊

With 2.0bn OS

2 for 5 will bring the OS to 2.8bn
5 for 2 will bring the OS to 7.0bn
