Extend it to include the president.

Until they remove immunity for everyone in the government including the President, they are all still jokers
Otherwise, they would all be at the mercy of the President and it can lead to worse corruption tendencies

Tell me which country in the world removes immunity for the President? Some people comment without reason.

If immunity is removed for the President, how will governance even be possible?

This bill is not from Tinubu until he signs it into law.

However, Tinubu is killing federalism by weakening the powers of the states. He should be strengthening them and reducing the powers at the center.

The local government autonomy is also against true federalism. Tinubu is gradually reverting to a unitary system of government
Honestey:
Tinubu is taking decisions that ordinarily no one aiming for 2nd term will take. He is doing it not minding whether they are going to give him votes for 2nd term or not e.g:
Removing subsidy
Not paying for dollars to keep exchange low
and now this.
Honestly, I don't see any selfish president looking for 2nd term attempting all these in his first tenure. It's a testament to his determination to fix the country and I salute him for this.

Every governor has a case to answer!
If the bills pass, all opposition governors will be removed with trumped up charges and
ask to defend themselves before they can face governance especially close to election time.
With such arrangement, some governors will spend the entire four years in court given
our slow judiciary.

Very laudable one. I think Fubara has exposed the governors for his audacity in bulldozing legislative complex without apology.

Your opinion would have made perfect sense if Tinubu is actually doing this to better the country political system, but it's actually for his second term ambition and autocratic enthronement. The SOE in Rivers State was just a test-run of his plan to bring all the Governors including his VP under one chain of control with the power control available to him ultimately.

If this bill becomes law, this could become one of the most important laws this coubtry has enacted since 1999.

If Governors know that during their term in office they can be prosecuted, found guilty and jailed, and therefore be impeached, they will think twice about corruption.

No single law can eradicate corruption, but boy a law like this will make a huge difference.

Also, no President can right the wrongs of over 50 years in 2 years, but the rate of changes (mostly unappreciated by the public) that this government is introducing in its short time in office unprecedented in the history of this country is incredible.

But Tinubu neither wrote nor sponsored the bills.
Why are assigning credit for Musa's homework to Olisa?

The constitutional amendment Bill sponsored by Solomon Bob (PDP, Rivers) reads: β€œA Bill for an act to alter the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 to qualify the immunity conferred on the President, remove the immunity conferred on the Vice President, the Governors and their Deputies, in order to curb corruption, eradicate impunity and enhance accountability in public office and for Related Matters”.

The bill for the creation of Etiti state sponsored by Amobi Ogah

The second bill sponsored by Solomon Bob (PDP, Rivers) seeks to vest the creation and funding of local government on the states

Your first paragraph was off topic.

I have no doubt you are just a little man trying to give himself airs.

You are also not emotionaly mature.

It's evident with the way you lament over those mikano boys with so much passion you nearly cry at the sight of them.

I don't have fuqs to give even if you are from panya. All humans are same to me

I just don't suffer fools gladly when a slowpoke tries to heckle me.

You are here morning afternoon night insulting Igbos to please your Lukumi hosts because they allowed you live amongst them, gave you free land to build, free wife and free thriving business. It's your call Oga.

Dude denied his Lukumi ancestry to evade the skullarahip question, lol

The Igbos you and your ilk love to hate, live everywhere in Nigeria. Wherever they find a business opportunity, they port.

They pay tax, develop their environment, build big houses, hotels, malls, industries etc.

These things naturally instigate jealousy in people who have no direction and ambition in life, we get it.

Which prominent or politically exposed Igbo man has ever said anything negative, divisive or causing bodily harm to any Yoruba man? Name one!

But there's a plethora of prominent Yoruba people who are on record instigating injurious harm to the Igbo people for daring to vote for a fellow Igbo man in the last election.

They were threatened with every evil in the books!

Now, can you say same of Fulani who are raping and slaughtering your old people in your villages? But you are in bed with them and the peaceful enterprising fellow southern gives you nightmares and stomach ache... jealousy. ,πŸ˜ƒ

But my brother man make I nack you Tori, I'm not going to apologize because I'm enterprising and free spirited and successful.

Anyhow you people want it, it would be given in good measure. That I live and do business in your land doesn't make you a joy forever. People all over the world move around, no biggie!

Your epistle does not change the facts. Send me a Dm, I might break protocol because of you as it seems you're projecting your insecurity and low self esteem on me. I'm not bothered what you think of me, if you think I'm Yoruba, it's all good. There's no challenges that others from outside face here that Yoruba themselves do not face. If agbero stopped your car, they also stop Yoruba people 's car too. But it's you guys from the east that usually cast aspersions on the SW , out of over 250 ethnic groups living in the SW.
You insult Lagos and other parts of the SW and you expect the land to favour you, when you insult a land that feeds you?. You expect the people of the SW to clap for you?, you must be joking.
Everybody pay taxes, including myself and 250 other tribes that live in the SW, we own businesses too but why always you the odd ones out?. I can't live in the SE, earn my living from the land and then start insulting the land and their people, God forbid. But your kind is strange. Me, I will continue to defend the SW even when I'm not from the tribe. If e easy, I should have stayed back in my state, and you too stayed back in your village.
Finally, leave me and the Mikano boys, I know the kind of arguments we had during the last election and I know how painful it was for them losing the election upon their boasting. Which is why their only coping mechanism is attacking SW and Tinubu.

Yes very good, in America governors don't have immunity, governors are abusing their immunity, they are the most corrupt in Nigeria, no need to give them 4 to 8 years before prosecuting them. This is good news for EFCC and ICPC.
There is nothing good for EFCC and ICPC. A case study of yahaya Bello, who has left office but still walking freely despite his corrupt cases
