If they had just gotten a permanent manager after Peseiro, like Herve Renard, we would be top of that group by now. Mtchew.

No coach for Falcons o. If they have s terrible outing in the wafcon they'll begin to run helter skelter, talking to the press asif dem sabi better thing. Incompetent lots.

Eguavoen didn’t handle World Cup qualifiers
Take his name out
He was complacent when we had already qualified for AFCON, we lost to Rwanda
That game should’ve been a trial for 2nd 11 to me
Inconsequential game

That man doesn't take nonsense. Osayi played rubbish and yet still fielded. Renard go see Chuks dey do nothing b2b and that one go start next game? Abi na wetin Ndidi dey do he go accommodate?

It definitely won't be the same. We won't and can't draw 3 home games under a manager like Renard.

Apart from 3 or 4 players this team don’t have enough zeal and commitment and there’s nothing any other coach will do. You don’t even have better replacements so if you fire one which other players will perform magic. Renard go just shout tire and the players will just continue their career in Europe, most are even dual nationals so no stress on them at all

Did I said over look defensive ability? My point you can't be defending alone without knowing how to use the ball effectively. Most coaches preferred having both but in a situation where one cannot get it,then you look for CB with good positional play with ball sense and pair him with defensive ability defender to balance things up.
This was what you said that made me respond

Slower but better than Ekong with his feet on the ball...

If he played ball well & at the dying minutes his pace and reaction let him down for us to concede, will you accept it?

Mad people dey Nigeria. We dey complain say Ekong lacks pace. Now see suggestion that we should bring back Balogun who when the Oyibo wall was in place was slower than Ekong.

Bringing back 35 year old Leon Balogun is a joke
He’s almost 36
To face pacy South Africans
Maybe he was paid for PR

This man played two games and got more points than Finidi, Peseiro and Eguavoen combined in that group. Make una rest abeg.

You think if we stuck with Peseiro after AFCON or we had this man from the beginning of this WCQ we'll be in the situation we are now?

It's not really about Chelle but early preparation with the quality manager. Renard>>> Chelle in quality. We are with him now but we have to review where all this nonsense began. We need to.

Give Peseiro his flowers too please.

Boy leaves everything on the pitch
Nigeria can still qualify if FIFA do the right thing

He’s in the wrong generation of players, if he even gets more services, his goal tally will be more. The clubs he has played for all play to and utilise his strengths, we are yet to fully utilise it in the national team. More crosses and floating balls is needed in the box for him. This was what Yekini enjoyed in his days until his teammates started thinking otherwise

the problem is Nigeria is likely to still drop another point.. I have given up even if South Africa gets 3 points deducted. We are not topping the group unless we qualify through the backdoor.

E go hard us to beat South Africa. It's gonna be another draw. That team is a TEAM. no talents but as a TEAM, they are solid and have been consistent.

yinkeys:

If we surprise the South Africans by playing 3-4-3 we stand a chance against them on their turf & we would not concede
They would be shocked that we switched formation
3-4-3 has been saving our defense
It hides our flaws
Especially with Onyeka in the team
I hope they invite Uche too, players that can create goals by themselves because we do not have team cohesion like the South Africans do
Arokodare & Boniface are not those types of players to force gameplay
I wish Orban was in form
I don’t know the 2nd or 3rd strikers that would be invited next, but the coach has to be very selective about it. We need fighters that can dictate the tune of the game or force gameplay not necessarily players who operate in a working team structure
My opinion
They can still qualify if NFF release a merit list & get everything done properly
Invite take the bull by the horn type of players & end that corruption list
We really need our best legs
I hear FIFA will still hammer South Africa for fielding an ineligible player even though Lesotho withdrew their complaints
Lesotho may be penalized too for corruption issues for doing that lol
Still a rumour though
Chelle doesn’t know most of our players & their abilities
I think NFF needs to regularly advise the coach on the best players for each position
Fielding Lookman in the wrong operating position
Not giving Onyemaechi game time
Aina is a better RB than LB
Chelle chose to always start & accommodate players he seemingly has a good relationship with .eg. Moses, Chukwueze.
Lookman should’ve been on the left, he needs space to operate
Obvious errors
NFF also need to carefully look at the referees in our games, the last one didn’t give us a clear penalty won

Nothing is impossible
Rwanda did it
Mali with this coach did it
Start front 3
Lookman Osimhen Uche in a 3-4-3 formation
Let’s see if their father will not concede
We have better & more athletic forwards
Ejuke, Simon, Tella, Chukwueze, Orban, Dele Bashiru for reserves
South Africa will concede, forget that thing
If you watched Morocco v Belgium in the last World Cup, you’d know anything is possible if we field players on merit & with the right tactics
It’s 100% possible
We beat Ivory Coast first leg on their turf
We just have to believe provided the coach, players & NFF make no silly mistake
They need to beat Rwanda at home too

After two matches, you can't conclude. He didn't even lose any of the matches. It's funny that I, who never supported Chelle in getting the job, have to defend him from you people who celebrated his appointment all over the place.
I generally maintain a position of giving every new coach a chance. You see that playing Aina at LB, keeping Bruno on the bench and Osayi as the RB? the error showed itself in the first game against Rwanda when Yusuf, as in Yusuf came in for Osayi.

At that point he should have realized the error of using the two RBs at the same time.

Then shockingly he repeated it in the match against Zimbabwe. The entire right hand side of our game was flat. Zimbabwe had a free day running up and down that track. No be there dem take score us?

I doubt his tactical nous oo. Doesn't mean I will not give him the benefit of the doubt. After all, it's Finidi who finished us, not Chelle

Going into archive....Christian Chuckwu a libero with Tunde Bamidele a stopper...Keshi/Eboigbe...Uche Ikechuckwu/Chidi Nwanu....Uche Okechukwu/Taribo West....Yobo/Danny Shittu...Omeruo/Oboboana....Balogun/Ekong

Last Afcon we have 3 brawlers as CBs in Ekong,Ajayi and Bassey in 3-5-2 and reason why our possessive football was poor even against weaker opponents

Chelle 4 at the back need ball playing CB to connect the middle not two raw CBs
I agree with you saying we need a ball playing CB but let's get a quick ball playing CB. Speed is essential.

What if it’s something agreed by the coaching crew and players. It’s not today eagles coaches switch positions of players and Chelle won’t be the first eagles coach to do such, Tijani babangida said in an interview how bonfere Jo switched his position against South Africa in Afcon 2000 and we were 2-0 up in first half. So it’s nothing strange and if the game in uyo ended 1-0 not many will bothered now about changing of positions

If Ndah is back by September, I feel he should be giving an invitation, he's top 3 best center back in the psl and is very familiar with the South African attackers, also one of our best ball playing defender, there's no way he can do worse than what we have right now

I agree with the spirit of your post D'Law but like I commented earlier the coach playing Aina at LB looked seemingly justified with his assist for Victor's goal.

So maybe it might be the pain of the result making us say he's not 'tactically sharp.

Funny thing is if he had used his subs exactly how he did against Rwanda we would have gotten a result in the Zimbabwe game.

Everybody here including me, still want us to qualify even if SA 3points isn’t removed…although it will be removed 😊

Don’t underestimate super eagles 🦅…we can be very unpredictable, besides 5months in football is a lot . A lot can happen in South Africa 🇿🇦 team too (loss of form, injuries etc ),same as oda teams too in d group.
