yongp: pls i have a sprint blackberry 9930(bold 5) can't browse with it.saying activation required.

beatbug: pls I v this same problem...its d US sprint phone(the phone is 100% unlocked, sim and service provider disabled) and wen ever I dial *556#, it wil send it as normal phone call instead of a request command.

there is no known solution for this problem, but if there is an active Blackberry subscription on the phone you will not have that problem.

Also this is a temporary fix.

Goto Options--> Mobile Network, press the blackberry menu button click on Diagnostics Test, press the Blackberry menu button again and click Run now you will be ab;e to dial the code without it calling instead

beatbug: how abt "activation Required" when my MTN sim has 1mnth BIS(1500) activation in it...wetin I goo do?

dial ##00000 a page will come up, the first option is mobile number, change it to your number and click blackberry symbol and click save then the phone will restart.

That should fix it

Thanks Wasco. They both didnt work. I just looked at the fone well and discovered it was RDV and not PRD that was there. I'm looking for another way to get PRD apart from the battery compartment. Pls can u help on this?
