In view of this, does it make sense to enter a new trade between now and november; after the 3rd quarter results? Though the results are not coming in by now as i expect.

Such theory do not work in developing economy like nigeria. Any time means no time always look for the bearish runs in any good stock with good fundamentals to invest in developing stock maarket.

@omexonomy have you been watching nigerian stock market chart since last year till this very moment ? We are talking about nigerian real time experience. It is obvious omex, we are not just theorising. The stock has been at its lowest at september this year until it started picking up recently.

@ogb, I have placed sell order for vitafoam.my broker shld have finished selling all by now but the stock is illiquid. They have announced right issue and wen they list it, price is likely to fall. I advise u reconsider vitafoam b4 u buy.

B4 now, prices are lowest nov ,dec, jan, but may not be so this year. Analyst think that with the present macroeconomy, prices may not fall low than in sept. Try and read http://www.proshareng.com/news/21131.html

For me, I don buy finish. Will only buy again wen they pay me my upfront housing allowance in Nov (lol, counting chicks b4 they are hatched).

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Odutodaiwa: 11:25pm On Oct 05, 2013
Gurus in the house. I have a question. I have about 1mill units of Transcorp and UBACAP. I am contemplating offloading this stocks this Monday before profit taking begins. I really do not need the money but I hate seeing previous appreciations go down the drain. For example I bought 100K units of Oando at N14+. When it was at N19+ I was thinking of selling but i didn't sell until my gain became loss and I had to sell at N12.

I have lost money on some stocks this year e.g C&I Leasing, Oando, Japaul, AIICO, Prestige Insurance. This recent marginal gain in Transcorp is taking me towards break even this year. I don't wanna lose it in the name of profit taking.

In think the price appreciation in transcorp is due to handover of Ughelli power station to transcorp by the FG and nothing more. I guess sometime soon it will retrace. But i have the feeling that the stock will do well in the long run.

Make una advice please.

Anyone knows the future of UBACAP.

THEY ARE NOT GOOD TO BUY NOW FBNH 1O OR 7.50, okomu 10 or 12
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Toluway: 6:07am On Oct 06, 2013
I took my 35% profit from transcorp last thursday and ran away. Delay might be dangerous. You never know with stocks.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Toluway: 6:17am On Oct 06, 2013
@ogbs look for stocks with good fundamentals that has gone very low and buy, now now, or you want to wait till after dec, jan when ppl would like to enjoy their money.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ogbs2020love: 9:55am On Oct 06, 2013
@ toluway thanks for your concern. But. As for interbrew I bought it since at her ipo price round 0.68k and I've held on to it since then. And as for ashaka cement I bought it since sept 2011 at around 5naira plus. So pleae assist with other recomendation

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Toluway: 12:07pm On Oct 06, 2013
You bought International Breweries at 0.65k? You must be a millionaire by now. I did my research and found those two in perfect position now. Fundamentals are good and they are among the nse 30. I pick my stocks very carefully nowadays. The market has thought me a lesson. You already have those 2, you have great stocks. I already have Ashaka too, but with the way it is now, I got to buy more.

@ Mr odu I am waiting for the GURUS in the house as well to anwer your questions , i had the same experience with OANDO as well, I decided to sell more than half of my UBACAP to take the profit cos i hate seeing it going back to losses again . ALSO i was able to buy more TRANSCORP last week cos like you said i have a feeling too it will do well in future
I have friends that bought Transcorp at 7.50k and 9.34k during IPO ERA , lets hope it will do well in future .

Krisuba: Pls bro wat is market maker.
\

A market maker is a bank or brokerage company that stands ready every second of the trading day with a firm ask and bid price. This is good for you, because when you place an order to sell your thousand shares of Disney, the market maker will actually purchase the stock from you, even if he doesn't have a seller lined up. In doing so, they are literally "making a market" for the stock.

Hope this help?
