This article will definitely fall on deaf ears especially for the diseducated like Pius Adesamni put it. Infact even the ones who will attempt to read it, will be turned off by the verbosity used in the article. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Well, I won't blame the "a whole former head of state" guy. That's our Nigeria the one I was born into. If this is also about Buhari trying to sell the honesty mien, to tell me he doesn't have the ticket sum, we may as well start an online donation for him again to clinch the ticket, so we can shame him again for the umpteenth time. Nairaland did it in 2011, we can do it again! As for Fayemi and his "goodwill", the gods will decide |

I actually believe the 27,000,000 naira application fee is to scheme Buhari out of the running. I remember in 2010 when he couldn't fund his campaign, there was this man in Kaduna who gave him four SUV to drive around the country. Imagine a former head of State crisscrossing the country in SUV when GEJ and other were cruising in jets. 2 Likes |

if it took them five decades to destroy the Nigerian psychology and produce the mass mumufication we witness today, it will take five generations to demumufy the Nigerian psychology. And that is where there is the will o. So, dear friend, when the candidates of APC begin to pick up presidential nomination forms for twenty-seven million naira, your responsibility as a Nigerian citizen is to ask questions about the source of the money. |

You castigate Oritsejafor for owning a jet even though he got his from donors but laud Buhari for same thing. There's no indication Buhari is poor, does he flaunt his wealth no, but its delusional to think a former international magani buruntashi exporter is poor. He couldn't have spent all his loot buying gworo. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

Thought provoking article from Pius Adesanmi as usual. He has captured all that is wrong with Nigeria succinctly. With the kind of opinions people express on NL daily, we will just be lucky to get things right in the next 50 years in Nigeria. Even a school drop out will come here and defend the same government official that stole the funds that should have been used to provide him with good education. The level of diseducation is simply pathetic and sympathetic. 7 Likes 3 Shares |

This is definitely a scheme by the Apc governors to rid off some aspirants, how can sam and buhari pay 27mill? I remember someone donating 7 buses to the buhari in 2011, I remember he couldn't afford to campaign in many states. |

Now to those that refuse to heed - hmmm* to the others say what you think, believe what you will, buhari was a next door neighbour of mine in abuja, thou I never talked to him - not even a wave, believe it or not his humility personified, he is not poor that he cannot feed himself - and he definitely is not a multi-million that can afford to go on a spending spree- say he has a religious inclining because his from the north (which I know is not true) one day you shall know the truth- well its not far away again* the only thing is the amount is crazy N27m - I guess that's the best way to make people that have the money but don't want to waste it run away- I want to believe, this strategy is targeted at people coming together to donate for their candidates ticket- 1 Like |

I'm impressed. This is because this article was posted by Naptu. I have been watching him for some time because he comes across, at times, as pro-APC, pro-Islam and pro-Buhari. So, I didn't expect him to post anything anti-APC. Kudos, Naptu. My respect for you remains untainted. Erm...we all know Buhari stole from the coffers of the Nigerian government. He amassed wealth during his stint as the head of PTF. But, sincerely, he didn't pilfer like his mates. By Naija standard, he's a saint. He's the best candidate out there if all we want is a dogged fight against corruption. But, politics/Naija presidency is much more than that. Fact! Up GEJ 4 Likes 1 Share |

I am convinced that most secondary school graduates and other Nigerians with higher education, including most Nairalanders, are fully aware of the obvious facts pointed out by the Author. The laziness of the author is what has convinced him that he will be long dead before solutions to the problems he itemized are found. It is this same laziness and irresponsibility which causes the youths of today to sit idly and watch the destruction of Nigeria without doing anything about it. I'm afraid that the author and the youths of this country are enablers of the thieving leaders. Noise making in newspapers and online does nothing to ameliorate the itemized problems. Make una organize millions of youths and match go NASS and see whether una no go see results. Na action we need, no be noise making. 1 Like |

On the one hand I have never viewed APC as any different from PDP in terms of ideology. Nigerians are highly emotional and can have their voting decisions swayed by flimsy and grandstanding acts by politicians, which may end up as bad choices. On the other hand, me think GMB is too old to contend with modern day democratic and development needs of the present generation. He should just keep to his words he made at the outcome of the 2011 elections supreme court judgement never to contest in future elections. He should play from the background and offer relevant statemanship advices. We may just, afterall, take his shed tears back then as the proverbial crocodile tears. Peace.....#team2019. |

Well put article. "So, dear friend, when the candidates of APC begin to pick up presidential nomination forms for twenty-seven million naira, your responsibility as a Nigerian citizen is to ask questions about the source of the money." Am reminded when someone asked on this forum what Buhari does for a living, APC armies came in shouting in disgust "Op why will you ask such st.upid question? A whole Buhari, former head of state for that matter" Without any of them providing any tangible answer(s), only hanging on the facts that he is a pensioner. How can pension sponsor 3 failed presidential campaigns and same number of presidential aspirant forms?.These are questions we need to ask ourselves. These goes to anybody not just GMB. |

I am about clocking 30 and I had forgotten about this country becoming prosperous before I left university 6years ago. And why? becos the engine of change (youths), are the major carrier of the wrongly wired mentality outlined in this article. I wonder what can anyone do to change the psychology of nigerian citizens? from saharareporters to premiumtimes and other online media, all you in reactions to national issues is constant bashing and supports for demons who will never stop oppressing us. An average nigerian is settled when he get a job plus a small toyota car and one i-pass-my-neighbour generator to watch nollywood movies. He will never participate in protest again president that launder money abroad nor raise his voice against an administration that has been accused of abhoring sponsors of terror nor condemn a sitting and aspiring president who refused to participate in open debates prior to general elections nor stand against lawmakers who use their position to block every avenue to open investigation into money laundry and other abominable acts perpetrated by the political class; Its a shame. Nigerian youths are perhaps worse than the demons in corridor of power and so where is hope for a better country? The political thugs are youths, national association of nigerian students is a body comprising of youths, militants, bokoharam, armed robbers are all youths. where is the future? why can we be united, for once, against politicians who sent our fellow youths to their untimely graves in a recruitment scam? why can we stand against politicians who collect millions of naira as security votes on monthly basis yet complained that there is no money to pay salaries let alone sanction salary increase? when are we going to stand against our common oppressor? It is shame |

Dora akunyilli was recommended by buhari to OBJ from PTF- for some of her exemplary characters so also so many others and D.G's - PTF was the equivalent of the sure-P initiated by abacha government (they were collecting money on first line charge basis, they didn't have to account to anybody) and their audits till date stand as the best - (they are used as a bench mark till date, they didn't have to carry out audits but this man *GMB* insisted audits should be carried out regularly) to do direct interventions of federal government jobs, schools hospitals at least I went to one of such schools in lagos and some of them are still around that they inscribed PTF built on till date- all federal hospitals during that time had drugs constantly, I am sure you also benefited from them - please think back remember them, those drugs that were shared to all hospitals on a monthly basis and all state commissioners of health would come and collect those periods, they use to show them being shared on TV - then people preferred to go to the hospital to collect panadol because our brothers from the other side of the niger were selling us chalk as panadol, and akamu as Calamine lotion - when people were dying of typhoid due to fake indocid/amoxil - everybody was going to the clinic for the slightest treatment, if you drive from akure to ilesha somewhere along the road you would still see the PTF boulders with their inscription and the roads are still good till date- after he left PTF, like I still insist- if I can I, would post a picture of his house in abuja its a twin duplex - he stays on one side and he has a neighbour then I would post a picture of one of saraki daughters house, and you can compare and contrast- and he was using a toyota land-cruiser jeep dark green coloured only one - where as the directors of the same PTF where given houses in PTF estate in high brow wuse II - detached duplexes state of art- haba! The only thing I would frown at is if he comes out to pay that N27m from his pocket, thou I know more then 6 people who have pledged to donate if he says his coming out- but talking about this man, is very unfair- a thief, after stealing -who would he entrust his stolen loot to? -another thief? or a honest man? As for me, whether he wins or loses - if they eventually allow me collect my voters card I would entrust it a honest man irrespect of if, he wins or loses - irrespect of if its GMB, or another candidate but definitely not the current man at the helm of affairs* I don't know where you are, but where I am kai* not this man (GEJ) again- 3 Likes 2 Shares |
