Former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo has warned political parties not to toy with the idea of selecting a Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christian ticket in the upcoming election.

The former Nigerian leader was tacitly referring to an interview granted by the likely presidential candidate of the All Progressives congress where he stated that he was not opposed to a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

In a brief press statement, Obasanjo said it will be absurd for any party to make the costly mistake of choosing both top candidates of their party from the same religious background.

I wouldnt have bothered with Muslim muslim or christain christain ticket as far as the candidates are qualified but because of Nigeria's sensitivity with regards to religion, it will be dangerous.I guess that was why baba said this.

Fashola is Fashola because he has access to a state like Lagos with so many multinationals, productive people and of course, large resources. The fact that other governors in states like Ekiti, Jigawa, Kwara, Ogun, Katsina aren't making headlines in Lagos based TV channels do not signify failure in other states. We need to get these facts right.

I am always flabbergasted by the amazing indepth intelligence being displayed by Nigerian Youths on NL. NL folks exhibit a an uncommon and unparalled deep thinking pensive intelligence. I see great minds, the future leaders of this country here. But the most nefarious weapon being used by the devil is to misdirect their energy by getting most of these great future leaders preoccupied with wrong focus; on "eye candy" soft pporn on computer and subtle pporn on the streets, encouraging nudditty. Nudity IS NOT AFRICAN CULTURE! Only few minute tribes were without cloths and we took cloths to them. Even if our ancient ancestors were walking butt nacked, must we?! Finally, why haven't you, you and you stuck to a 1st generation computer, a Petntium I or II Computer or that ancient horned big Nokia? We humans ensure that new generations of technology are much better than the old ones, yet some humans will never want to become better beings. We all agree that nackedness promote immorality. What advice does he have to give? This is a former president who failed to deliver even his own ward during the last general elections. The only way Obasanjo can affect anyone politically is if it's to the detriment of that person. He can't make any positive impact on any candidate. His irrelevance became palpable when Ogun PDP resolved its internal crisis sans Obasanjo.

That man is a pincipality. APC leaders even had a meeting wit him in his house in abeokuta abt a month ago.
I didn't believe Tinubu cld visit Obasanjo. They were avin challenges wit candidates naa ni o. Obasanjo leading Nigeria since 1999.

OBJ said the obvious. Any party, be it the rulling party, that fields Muslim-muslim in Nigeria is bound to loss. That's why the idea of Buhari/Fashola, as good as it is, can not work for APC.
