Obasajo was right as the reality of today is averse to single faith combination. There is always a time when the choice we make work for us and against us and that is what Fashola is experiencing, it worked for him to become Lagos Governor but may not work for him to become the Vice President, may be it will work for him later to become the president(go and need his interview when he turned 50 years) Thant said, I think it is not wise to field muslim-muslim ticket at this period of islamic terrorism in Nigeria and with the kind of bad posture already given to the APC front runner it is better they step it down with a more serious, committed and sell-able christian deputy, may be Professor Osinbajo will do but preferably from the Eastern bloc of Yoruba country in order to claim that area from PDP.For GEJ to embark on a pilgrimage at this time its a serious political statement to the christian community especially the Middle Beltans who are still much into such beliefs. Let the opposition party look for a credible christian with education and exposure and begin to market him seriously preferably from Ekiti or Ondo state who will be a technocrat that can be the minister for Economy and also manage BUHARI well. Fielding any muslim -muslim ticket will create ill feeling among the christian though to be honest Fashola remains a world class presidential material. |

OBJ is still a PDP Agent! APC be very careful with him, he is working against his fellow Yuruba man Fashola (Muslim) who in this calculation slated to be the next president after THE Buhari's 4 years of cleaning, recovery and normalizing NIGERIA from the rascal criminal thugs that have infested, wounded and almost ground NIGERIA. BUHARI = TAFAWA BALEWA same philosophy and charisma vote 4 him NIGERIA'S GLORY WOULD BE RESTORED TO ATB era…………… |

That buhari and fashola collaboration is too tempting to resist on a religious ground. I have not voted before but I will go out to cast my vote; an anti corruption crusader and a development driver. Who will resist this cos of religion, men bone religion 2 Likes |

All I see in many of the comments amongst people that think religion does not matter is all wishful thinking that is a very far cry from the realities on ground. Nigeria is not ready for any combination that will have any one religion, tribe or region dominate leadership positions at the top and next level. Talk all sophisticated as you like and want, the majority of Nigerians that will vote are the very religious ones you meet in the mosque and churches. You think religion is not an issue because in your family you have Christians and Muslims-and so what? Which South western state has both her governor and Deputy come from the same religion? Abi una religious tolerance no reach that place ni. Is Aregbe's deputy a Muslim as well? The most traumatic problem this country has faced and is still facing is religion. This has even wrecked way more havoc than tribalism. Just because you want to win by all means does not mean people's sensibilities should be ignored on the alter of pretense that it does not mean anything. The irony of the combination is that if this were to be reversed, there is no how any Muslim person will see any justification in the leadership of a Christian_Christian combo, no matter how promising and wonderful it is. Yet some pretenders here think because they are from a region where Muslims and Christians come from the same family they are more tolerant than regions that are predominantly Christians. Yet history shows it did not get that way because of tolerance but through cultural amalgamation from both the marauding Arabs from the North who find it easy to force their religion on the people of that region than another. It is not like there has ever been news about religious unrest of any kind in regions where Islam is not fancied, so what is the fuss about the St being religiously tolerant. Very stupid claim, I must say. 3 Likes |

OBJ should cease double-dipping PDP and APC. Does not Atiku, does not want Fashola and he is a PDP member. Shame! And who says same religious creed cannot win election. The fairest election in this country was won by Muslim-Muslim team: Abiola and Kingibe! APC please respect competence and democracy, not demigods like obj. 3 Likes |

danjumakolo: The dual Muslim ticket cannot move NIGERIA forward. Nigeria and Nigerians being what they are can never leave religion out of politics or governance. You can see what hijab ban in LAGOS public schools is causing already. Are our children in school to wear hijab or to read? Or is hijab part of school uniform? You can see how religious things are trivialized in Nigeria. Even if the dual Muslim ticket works for APC, I bet you, it wouldn't be long Nigerians will start crying. In my opinion, NO retired army officer especially those who planned and executed coup in the past should aspire for any political office. Once a soldier, always a soldier. They can only be appointed as security advisers. |

Thief Obasanjo better shut his rotten mouth! A man that has undermined democracy in Nigeria and who has proclaimed himself a card carrying member of the ruling PDP party has no moral right to tell any opposition who can represent them. 2 Likes 1 Share |

So what if the president and VP are both Muslims or both Christians? How does that change anything? When Buhari and Babatunde Idiagbon both Muslims were in the no1 and no2 political offices in Nigeria, we saw a massive improvement in so many sectors of national life. Fashola is a Muslim, but has he in any way discriminated against Christians in Lagos? Why should competent people be overlooked, simply because they are of a certain religion? Some of you guyz are somewhat immature in you thoughts. 2 Likes 1 Share |

You call the very undemocratic and mafia style of leadership they use an improvement, many of you lots need to move to Iran and the likes where you are regulated and curtailed by the religious whims and caprice of some sheik or royal despot. 1 Like |

sarutobie: typical arrogance from south easterner.... Nigeria is restructured in away where education opportunities is evenly spread aming the six geopolitical zones. Anambra boy wishing to go a unity school should do it in his region since a boy from ondo state with 300 will not be allowed to get a slot in enugu |

abdulwastecx:which boy from Ondo state? arrogance you say? it is a fact that is as clear as day..look at the " escaped" chibok girls for example, who were about to write their senior school certificate examination and NONE of them could make a sentence in English, they needed translators..Abdul you can feign ignorance of reality all you want, doesn't change the fact that quota system has favoured the northern child the most in this contraption of a country. 1 Like |

abdulwastecx:Obviously, from the way you write, it is clear you are still a kid that probably was too young to understand the political madness that greeted the Buhari government. Buhari has nothing of worth to offer leadership at any level in this country besides flaunting his self-cultivated piety and false messianic posture. In terms of intelligence, Jonathan is better, charisma, Jonathan is better. Qualifications , Jonathan is better. Tolerance and temperament, Jonathan is better. Achievements as leaders, Jonathan is better. I challenge you to Point to one major project or initiative of the Buhari administration, you will be hard pressed to find anything he did that is worth mentioning besides stupefying and alarming rate if human rights abuses, despotic and mafia trial style of executing so-called dissidents and lining his pockets with our money. Buhari is a lower and not fit for any leadership in a sane society. |
