Gtbank,Plural house at Oyin Jolayemi is popular to get your draft done provided you have your dorm account.
Alternatively, you can initiate the FX draft from your internet banking and ask it to be delivered to the nearest Gtbank branch near you to pick it up or nominate a proxy on your behalf to pick it up.
In case your DD is unsuccessful, you can REPURCHASE IT BACK to your dorm account...it will be done within 10 working days.
Cheers.

Thank you all.

Hi damkollins,
Congratulations to you for the success of your application. I would like to know if you have done your you medicals and what was the cost to you. I'd like to prepare well in advance as I intend to migrate with my husband and 3 lovely children (all under age 5).
Thanks.

Hi House,

Please I have a question about POF. I had planned to use my pension savings statement and a Bank certification letter as my proof of funds but after going through this thread, I am having second thoughts. this is because I doubt the pension savings statement will be accepted and I couldn't get the Bank certification letter from GTB today.

I do not have enough funds in my current account or savings account for a family of four. I can move money from my savings account to my current account and the funds should be okay. My issue now is that I'm worried that a flag may be raised cos of the amount (2.5M). Please note that I do not want to print a statement of my savings account because there is rarely any activity on that account and most deposits there are not in my name.

I already transferred the money from my savings account to the current and the balance is enough for a family of four. I intend to print the statement tomorrow and submit my application probably mid November as I am still awaiting my Oct. 2nd IELTS results.

Please advice.

In Lagos Nigeria ,it's N28k per adult .Some charges N20k for children while it's same price in some hospitals.
In Abuja ,I was told its N40k per person.

Thanks for d response @solomowis. I also need to know if I can print out d current account statement as is (with the recent transfer from my savings) or print for a period that would not reflect the transfer so as not to raise any red flags?

At this stage (the initial stage of application),you can print your statement as it is but you might at a later stage be asked to provide supporting document to evidence the transaction(s).

You have nothing to worry about. Just print what you have. Since the money is coming from your savings account it will reflect your name which is a perfect thing to understand. I did the same thing too. I transfered from my account with another bank to GTB. Per RSA, there is a new law that you van access 25% of your savings. This van be a boost. I added My RSA. Account to my application to compliment gtb statement. Good luck

After 2 months of applying for remarking of my writing test i did in July. British council sent me a mail that it has been processed. i went to their office to pick up my result and from the previous 5.5 i was given, it was upgraded to 6.5. meanwhile that was the reason i had to retake the test because i scored above the recommended 6.0 on others.
they never told me it would take two months until i had paid. so i just decided to write again to save time, and made a band total of 7.0.
imagine if they had marked it correctly, i wouldn't have paid for another test because i was sure of what i wrote atleast to score above 6.0 in the writting test.
i just feel it could be intentional to make people take the test more than once, thereby increasing revenue.

Thank God for the turnaround.
But if you read their site thoroughly, you'll see that the remarking period takes almost that time.
So they are not entirely wrong.
Congrats anyway.

Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by Slya: 9:23am On Oct 29, 2014
Good morning great people! I happily anounce the receipt of my MR from Accra yesterday. I will breakdown my timeline here so the house/others can better estimate their expectations;
30th April 2014 - Application received (2013/2014 -last day)
28th May 2014 - Credit card debited
5th June 2014 - PER recieved
28th Oct 2014 - MR received from Accra.

Damkolins/Solomonwise et al, please i have a few questions for clarification;

1. I was not sent any medical form by Accra (only directed me to a link for forms). Do i need to fill a form or the selected panel physician
provides me with one at the hospital.
2. In the MR letter, it was not expressly stated if the principal applicant and the spouse only should pay for the RPRF fees or the children are
included. However, in the fee breakdown table, there was no fee (amount) specified for children under 15 years.
3. Police Certificate; Is it possible to obtain the police clearance certificate from Force C.I.D Annex at Alagbon close Ikoyi in one day?
4. What is the possibility of obtaining a Bank draft in a day in any of our Nigerian banks (GTB, UBA etc) for RPRF fees?
5. What medical examinations is one expected to undergo? Is the panel physician able to tell you what tests to undergo? I plan to have mine done in PH.

Thanks. Expecting your quick guides!

Congrats buddy on the receipt of your medical request.
1.You will receive your medical form in approximately 24hrs firm the receipt of your medical request mail.At most, you should get it btw 24 and 48hrs after your medical request mail.Surely ,the link to the hospitals will be sent to you, once you pick Nigeria ,you will see the designated hospitals.
2.RPRF fees are paid for specifically for applicants and wifey who are 18yrs and above .If have a child above 18,RPRF will be paid for such.If not, only you and spouse will pay it.
3.Yes....you can get it the PCC done under 5hrs at Alagbon .
4.In Gtbank,if you go to Oyin Jolayemi branch as early as 8 or 9am,you will get it done within 4 hrs .....not sure of other banks.
5.Just basic urine test,HIV test and Xray test and other minor tests.Once you get the link to the hospitals ,call their contacts to have an elaborate view of tests to be done.
Cheers

@ scrollmeout, what's up?

It is good to know that you still care. Well, to say i am worried or tense is a big understatement. I was hoping Solomonwis could also lend his voice to this big challenge i am facing, but it seems he has been busy on his project. A big thank you to Damkollins and the rest of the house for your responses thus far.
Remember my application was received on June 30, 2014. but July 9 CC applicants are being debited. On a lighter note, grin Since my profession involves problem solving, i worked out a few scenarios so as to find a solution.

SCENARIO 1
Hotter NOCs 1112 were given attention so they could reach the cap faster. I soon realised however that other NOCs were still being charged including mine, albeit sparingly.

SCENARIO 2
I also thought my Debit card was the problem, but i since found out from my bank that no attempt has been made by CIC to charge it

SCENARIO 3
My application was misplaced. I used to DHL tracking number to track it and found that it was actually received but the name of the official who received it wasn't logged. I also found out that some applications with the same cases did not have problems.

SCENARIO 4
The recent shooting disrupted CIC activities hence the reason for the delay, but alas, they soon resumed to business as usual.

OTHER ACTIONS TAKEN
I called British council to find out if i could request for another TRF but was told that they do not give more than one copy to test takers, they can only send a copy directly to Canada at a cost of N10,000. This of course means that it will not go with my application. this process is not guaranteed.

I called a customer care line +1 613 944 4000 to ask about my application but the agent told me he has no information about FSWP even though i was told he helped some callers some days ago.

I used my UCI to find out from the website, but since i haven't been charged the reply was null.

Lastly, i sent a Case specific enquiry to CIO but responses usually take between 30 - 45 days, at which point it may be too late to apply on this stream. I prefer not to wait for EE because i am not sure it may be easier.

What do i do? This stage is crucial to me because i am about to make some decisions that would be impacted if my PR is issued in a year or two.

EE will be better... that is Wht I'm gonna go for. It is modeled from the Oz's. It's more straightforward once you're qualified and have your documents sent online and it could take max of six months to process. Take a break...you did your best with what you did. Ur only concern should be...will my NOC still be demanded?

Yeah, a sibling of mine went to OZ with their Skillselect thing, and it works, thing is i'm not so keen about OZ. My NOC is 2133, its not so hot but you never can tell what is gonna happen. I'm expecting that CIC might raise the eligibility requirements a notch(maybe min of 7 across board) so i treat it with a bit of skeptiscm. More importantly, WHERE is my app since i still need my original ielts? This BC people be doing 'shakara'!
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by samakh: 11:26am On Oct 29, 2014
Hello all,

I am facing a difficult situation here and hoping someone could guide me correctly. For my FSWP 2014 application, I shall submit my brother's details under ''Relative in Canada'' section. In order to prove our relation, I can submit his old ID card or secondary school certificate or can even get a birth certificate from the local government office. The actual problem is that his date of birth in all those documents would differ from his passport.

I visited the local government office today and told them that I want to get a birth certificate for my brother with the same D.O.B as of the passport. They told me that I'll have to submit a case in court and they'll give a decision...all in all it is a lengthy process.

Is there a possibility to submit a birth certificate with a different D.O.B compared to the passport and attach an affidavit by my father stating that ''Mr. X is my real son and his actual date of birth is ....'' for my visa application?

Thank you.

While hoping your credit card get charged ,I will advice you to send another application ....this time, please use a demand draft.
Your next question will be how you will get another copy of an original of your IELTS result since I'm sure you still have a copy of your ECA report especially if u used WES .
If you don't have another copy of your ECA report, please order for another one to be delivered to you within 5 working days through international courier.
The big challenge is your original copy of your IELTS result......and I'll give you a lee way.
Get your application package arranged and sorted out with inclusions of everything as requested......just as you submitted your first application package.Like i say, this time, avoid using credit card......use debit card.
This package will contain everything except original copy of your IELTS result.
I'm sure you have a scanned copy of your IELTS report, please print the photocopy and include it in your package afterwhich you will write a short cover letter addressed to CIC that you are mandating British council Nigeria to insert your original copy of your IELTS result as they do not give applicants a second copy and that they have agreed to insert it.Let them also know that inserted copy will be the original copy of the photocopied one you inserted........sine and date it.
Take the whole of your package physically to British council Nigeria and tell them you want them to help you insert the original copy of your IELTS result in it since they can not give you by hand.
You will be asked to pay for courier charge to Canada and may be a possible charge on the original copy of your IELTS result to be inserted.British council Nigeria will send the package on your behalf to CIC since you must have addressed it to them and they will send you a tracking numbers to track it to know when it was delivered to CIC and who signed it .
The steps and advice i gave you above is not just a suggestion but a realistic solution that worked for me personally when my Gtbank master card had issues been accessed by CIC during my first application which i never receive back till date.
Please start the process as soon as possible while you wait for possible charge on your credit card for your first application .........please use demand draft this time.
Cheers.

A very big thank you to you Damkollins. You have done it again! Not only have you given me renewed hope, you have shared your personal experience with me and the rest of the house, may God bless you abundantly. I was about to pick a hole in your suggestion but i realised that you were right after all.
You know i told the house that i sent two applications before now. The 1st was returned because as a newbie, spurred on by my siblings OZ success, i forgot to include Accra as VO and 1150 CAD instead of 1250CAD as payment sum.
I sent the second 3 weeks later after realizing my folly, this time i sent a COPY of my IELTS and a cover letter explaining reasons but still no success.
I'm quite positive that this your approach will work. Thank you. I'll keep the house posted on my experience.

Cheers.
Good job...but why pushing for another application when it is not always FIFO @ CIC? His first bank MasterCard is a debit card still...which one is a credit card? Pple don't understand these.

Thank you.
Use ur brother's Canadian details and documents for your 5pts claims. Don't worry abt what he had in Nigeria.

Yeah, a sibling of mine went to OZ with their Skillselect thing, and it works, thing is i'm not so keen about OZ. My NOC is 2133, its not so hot but you never can tell what is gonna happen. I'm expecting that CIC might raise the eligibility requirements a notch(maybe min of 7 across board) so i treat it with a bit of skeptiscm. oMore importantly, WHERE is my app since i still need my original ielts? This BC people be doing 'shakara'!
I wasn't alluding u try OZ...their IELTS bands' points interpretations are something else. I doubt Canada will change theirs. Do what u conclude. I think you worry too much...na still to go hustle oh.

A debit card (also known as a bank card or check card) is a plastic payment card that provides the cardholder electronic access to his or her bank account(s) at a financial institution. Some cards may bear a stored value with which a payment is made, while most relay a message to the cardholder's bank to withdraw funds from a payer's designated bank account. The card, where accepted, can be used instead of cash when making purchases. In some cases, the primary account number is assigned exclusively for use on the Internet and there is no physical card.

A credit card is a payment card issued to users as a system of payment. It allows the cardholder to pay for goods and services based on the holder's promise to pay for them. The issuer of the card creates a revolving account and grants a line of credit to the consumer (or the user) from which the user can borrow money for payment to a merchant or as a cash advance to the user.

Both cards are acceptable to CIC .
In Nigeria ,the default card is debit card unless you specifically ask for credit cards from your bank.
Cheers.

I guess they know now...I still believe no institution esp in Nigeria gives a credit card without ur consent. Why wld they? Even with an agreement, they must know ur verifiable location and income flows. The debit card must have fund on the acct it is linked. Another misunderstanding could be because CIC has only credit card written against a field that takes both cards.

Though you sent photocopy with your 2nd application ,the non inclusion of the original copy may be responsible for non charging of your credit card if it wasn't included. What happened to your first application?Did you receive it back?
What of the IELTS inserted in it?
If you want to send this, make sure you are on British council trail to insert it as they can forget.....yes they can forget it.
One story i skipped in my experience in my penultimate post is that British council forgot to insert my IELTS in my second application which ofcourse was returned too.In my second which British sent on my behalf ,i did not include photocopy and the cover letter but in my third application package,i included the photocopy of my IELTS result with the cover letter .....and i made sure a high ranking official personally gave me assurance to supervise the inclusion of my IELTS result.
Ofcourse ....i got my second application back and British council indeed failed to insert my original copy of my IELTS result ..........I'm telling you this so that you will not rely on British council to insert your original copy of your IELTS result. They failed me in the first time so i have to put a lot of pressure on them the second time.
Wish you well .
Cheers.
