Tambuwal Remains Speaker Until Conclusion Of Substantive Suit - Court by siraj1402(m): 6:13pm On Nov 03, 2014
A federal high court sitting in Abuja, on Monday, ruled that Aminu Tambuwal remains the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

The court which said that the status quo remains about the headship of the legislative assembly, emphasised that Tambuwal should be recognised in his official capacity as number four citizen of Nigeria.

The court also supported the House adjourmenent of sitting, saying the House of Reps shall not reconvene until the 3rd December date as adjourned by the Speaker, Tambuwal.

However, the hearing of the substantive suit shall commence on Friday in Abuja.

Don't you know that whenever there is a dispute such as this, ppl go to court and it is the court's duty to declare between them who is legally correct?
In this case, the court has declared that the status Quo should be maintained pending judgement on the substantive case - after it must have heard and decided based on the legal arguments presented by both sides, in accordance with the law.

The judge's ruling is absolutely the correct one in that Tambuwal is still the Speaker and as such, the only party constitutionally authorized to adjourn and/or reconvene the house, unless he delegates that authority.

It simply shows the cluelessness and lawlessness of Federal Government agents and their lawless police as they attempted to violate our constitution. GEJ needs to thread softly here before he invites impeachment proceedings against he himself. olodo

did you bother to read through the ruling? This is what the judge said“The Federal High Court
sitting in Abuja on Monday
ruled that the status quo in
the House of
Representatives should be
maintained.
The Court said Speaker,
Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, will
remain Speaker until the
House reconvenes on
December 3” what this means is that until the 3rd of december tambuwal can't be removed because the house is on recess. What many of you don't know is this judgement is exactly what pdp wanted .pdp never said they wanted to remove him while the house is on recess.
