ThaVluit: I did not marry the two screenshots, I posted two different images, and because they are HP computer screenshots, they have no boundry line and appear like merged, you are a computer illiterate and an IT mumu. Each photo screenshot mentions the news media that published it, Janes says Janes, Tribune says Tribune, or your fish brain has ever seen Nigerian adverts pop up on Janes pages? Can't your dull head figure out Nigerian local adverts on the second screenshot from Tribune newspapers? Soweto Retaard. Call me a fraud 1,000 times and I don't care, I have developed thick skin, so I don't care. I have those weblinks repeated over 20 times in the past one month, and I will NOT repeat them for you, keep on devaluing this thread, I am out, have fun ! . 1 Like 1 Share |

agaugust: You can speak like the persecuted messiah until the sun rises in the east, but it won't change anything. You are a fraud, like you have been told before. You tried to mislead the forum. We can read for ourselves man. If you'd posted the links before, why go through the trouble of making screen grabs. It's much easier to paste links? No, Auguby. We don't buy it. Let us read for ourselves or simply quit this story. What devalues the thread are fraudulent posts. And enjoy sulking! |

agaugust: And this is why you hid the source, you dirty FRAUD! "The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is in the process of acquiring new fighter jets and helicopters, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Adesola Amosu told a press briefing on 8 April. "Recently, the Federal Government approved the acquisition of new fighter aircraft and helicopters for the Nigerian Air Force as well as the upgrade of some of our existing platforms to enable the service to perform its roles," AM Amosu was quoted as saying. The NAF chief did not identify the aircraft types or numbers that would be acquired. Nigeria's defence budget for this year includes funding for the procurement of six additional Mil Mi-35 attack helicopters and the reactivation of an Aero L-39ZA jet trainer, but not new fighters." http://www.janes.com/article/36560/nigeria-to-acquire-new-fighter-jets |

some people are getting rather desperate in their bid to tell more lies and deny facts/proofs.even if a dunderhead saffer is staring at hard facts right in front of his nose,he would still deny it{violently} in favour of propagating more lies and malice.no matter,SA will soon be left far behind, nigeria will soon be the african 'land of opportunities',be prepared to come sell pork and carrot here,we are kinda friendly like that. 2 Likes |

patches689: You are utterly daft, it isn't shocking any longer. If the revenue for a single commodity is 10 billion usd a year, how can you rationalise the total government earnings to be 25 billion? Fool. The title say's it all. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by ThaVluit: 12:15pm On Nov 04, 2014 |
Henry120: Rather how on earth can anyone say value = earnings? That will never make sense no matter how hard you try. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Nobody: 12:23pm On Nov 04, 2014 |
ThaVluit: What does the businessday tittle say? Who say's value can't equal earnings? Fact is for a single commodity, cocoa, Nigeria gets an estimated 10 billion dollars yearly. If Nigeria has an OPEC quota of 2.4 million barrels of oil at $100 per barrel, how much is nigeria's government earning? |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by ThaVluit: 12:25pm On Nov 04, 2014 |
Henry120: So meaning is in the title now? The value of your exports CANNOT be equal to your earnings. Your country exports $10bn in value. That's not the bottomline and that certainly NOT government earnings. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Nobody: 12:29pm On Nov 04, 2014 |
ThaVluit: It means there isn't any Economics to state Total value of cocoa, cannot meet government earnings if supplies are adequately met. This is the bottom line. The Nigerian government made 10 billion dollars in cocoa exports, what the government currently has in it's purse after payments have been made is a totally different matter. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by ThaVluit: 12:33pm On Nov 04, 2014 |
Henry120: First of all, the nigerian government does not farm or sell cocoa. So, that the government earned $10 bn is rubbish from that perspective. Two - if I sell units worth $10 bn, that's only my revenue. The top line. The bottom line will be less. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Nobody: 12:43pm On Nov 04, 2014 |
ThaVluit: The Nigerian government provides seedlings, subsidised fertiliser, storage facilities, loan facilities and machinery to small and large scale farmers, including chocolate manufacturers in the country. These farmer inturn pay duties, taxes to the nigerian government. Across the cocoa chain, the government has made 10 billion dollars of a 200 billion dollar industry. It is a straight forward comment, easy to understand. Like i've said, a sellers earnings can and would match up to the value of his produce, if he is able to meet and satisfy all demands. Nothing to it. |

patches689:dude,you better patch you cracked skull http://mobile.bloomberg.com/news/2013-10-31/nigeria-finance-ministy-says-revenue-gap-may-reach-12-billion.html in 2013,nigeria was expecting $80 billion from oil alone{though it was reduced by $12 billion,to about $68 billion},add in taxes,royalties,import/export duties,IGRs,revenue from government owned facilities, revenue by sector e.t.c.,imagine what you would have after adding everything up!,do some research please 2 Likes |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by ThaVluit: 12:56pm On Nov 04, 2014 |
Henry120: Providing seedlings is a cost to the taxpayer and is only meant to facilitate the industry. That doesn't mean that the government is the exporter. Individual farmers and entities are. It just makes no sense that if the collective industry exports $10 bn in value, then the government earns $10 bn. The article is simply a picture of how big the industry is. It has nothing to do with government earnings. We can't even work out from the article how much each of the actual exporters make in profits. How much their income is and how much they pay in duties or income tax. Nowhere does the article say your government earns $10 bn. you're stretching things. A lot. Anyway, your article says "nigeria EXPORTS $10 bn ...cocoa". Your bolded sentence is a beeeeeg thumb suck and misrepresentation of what the article says. |

Henry120: And upon reading your article again, it even contradicts itself. It can't be taken seriously and is not even worth arguing about. 1. It says the GLOBAL value of raw cocoa exports is $10 bn. 2. Then it says 76% of selfsame cocoa is from Africa. 3. Then it says Nigeria exports $10 bn in value of cocoa, which does not work with 1 and 2. This is rubbish. |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by ThaVluit: 1:40pm On Nov 04, 2014 |
Patchesagain: Look at my last post and read the article again. It's some bad piece of writing. Look at the first parts by the journalist and then look at the direct quotes towards the end. Also, the $200 bn value that Henry is talking about is not even raw cocoa and it's global. |

Patchesagain:be realistic for God's sake!,if a country like nigeria with a GDP of $510billion,is getting gross revenue of $20billion per year, how can a country of 170million survive.how many barrels of oil do we produce a day at a cost of $100 as at 2013?,in 2013 alone,we made $68billion from oil+non-oil revenue, imagine the revenue a year.SA generates about $101billion per year, how is that different? |

EVarn: Man!! indeed, your cranium is damaged. Nigeria's revenues are worth $23 billion. I just only hope you make peace with it and move on because even your government says so during their budget speech. That means you are not up to date with the news of your own country. from the expert point of view, it is also estimated at $23 billion and hundreds of sources, including those of your government. Bigger GDP does not equate to richer government. http://qz.com/207560/whats-really-behind-nigerias-kidnapped-girls-a-very-weak-president/ |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by mzilakazi(m): 2:48pm On Nov 04, 2014 |
EVarn: You are suffering from a severe psychological syndrome. Budgets of many countries are a representation of an actual revenues of everything which they have collected in a given financial year. So, please!! stop twisting facts and start to behave like a professional in this particular discourse. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by DieVluit: 2:56pm On Nov 04, 2014 |
mzilakazi: anyway, your source clearly says: "Today the CIA World Factbook points out that 62% of Nigeria’s 170 million people live in extreme poverty. Seventy percent are below the poverty line. Government revenues are $23 billion-plus annually. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by mzilakazi(m): 3:06pm On Nov 04, 2014 |
@Evarn must start to ask himself why is the government of SA is doing more for its citizens despite being marred by chronic corruption. -Building of massive infrastructure by the government and not the private sector -Free healthcare -Social services ( pensions, grants to children and the terminally ill -Road accident fund -Free housing -Power provision -Free water supply and sewage, etc The above mentioned amenities are all that Nigerian government cannot afford to give to its citizens free of charge because of their limited financial muscle. Nigeria might have bigger economy, but cannot match SA revenues, not even close. Thank you!!! 2 Likes |
