I guess he knows and has lost confidence in himself. This kinda proves what we have been saying all the while. Else, he himself wouldn't br worried.

He needs help and the team is always behind him anyday. We hope he regains his formal self or evolve to a newer and better version from what we have seen over the years.

[b]Marc Bartra has been considered as one of the
most promising center backs in Spain for
many years . As a product of La Masia, one
could assume that the young defender would
get his chance in Barcelona. However, based
on this season, that hasn’t been the case.
Bartra played his first La Liga match of the
season in the end of September, over two
months after the start of the Liga. And in his
first Liga match against Rayo Vallecano, he
only played 5 minutes. After that, he has
featured in 8 La Liga matches, of which he
has started only 3.
What makes the situation a bit twisted is that
Bartra has played a lot more in the
Champions League. He has started 4 CL
matches and made a total of 6 appearances.
Given that Barcelona have played just 12
matches in the UCL, Bartra has featured in
50% of those. The ratio is much higher than in
La Liga, where he has featured in only 22% of
Barcelona’s matches. If Bartra can be trusted
in the Champions League, why haven’t Barca
trusted him in the La Liga?
To underline that question, one must
remember that Bartra has been pretty
impressive everytime he has played. The
matches against Bayern Munich – of which
he’s been criticized a lot for – are one thing
and those matches don’t really measure
Bartra’s level, since Barcelona were trailed at
basically every department.
Bartra has still made mistakes and as a young
player he will continue to do so, but what has
been impressive is his maturity and
confidence. He has the skill and the
confidence to play in an extremely high
defense line and he doesn’t hesitate to urge
forward from it when the opponent is
attacking. This aggressiveness is something
that Barca’s defense line needs, as seen in the
2nd leg against AC Milan. Bartra – despite
being a bit similar to Pique – is someone who
can provide that.
With all the defensive issues Barca have had
this season, they can only ask themselves a
question; “What if we had played Bartra more
and earlier?”
Bartra is a huge talent and has the potential.
But to unlock that potential, he needs to play,
and quite frankly, he hasn’t played enough
this season. One can only wonder why.
There was a time when both Pique and Puyol
were injured. You’d think that at times like
that, playing Bartra would be the perfect
choice. But Barca didn’t see it this way.
Instead of trusting the young center back,
Barca started using Alex Song and later
Adriano in defense. In other words, Barca
moved two players away from their preferred
positions to cover the CB position, when in
fact they didn’t have to; Marc Bartra was
there all the time.
The same has continued to happen as the
season has gone on. Even in the less
meaningful matches it has been rather
Adriano than Bartra for Barcelona. Choices
like these might provide Barcelona’s shaky
defense some much needed experience – in
form of an experienced fullback, though – but
it’s not smart in the long run.
Adriano will not be a future center back for
Barcelona, nor will Alex Song. Marc Bartra is
different, he is young and talented, he
possesses a future in the club’s defense.
Barcelona’s urge to turn midfielders – and
now even wingbacks – into center backs is
somewhat understandable when they simply
don’t have healthy defenders available. But
it’s not understandable when they have a
youngster like Marc Bartra waiting for his
turn.
With the new center back potentially arriving
next summer, Barca must now make a
decision; will they continue to snub Bartra and
slow down his development or will they finally
trust him with the future of the club’s defense.
The decision must be made and Barca must
then start operating accordingly.....
