Good day everybody, Its going to two months I have applied for Saqa now. my result was to be released on 27th of October before I received a suspension email from saqa. The reason being that further information is being sought for the confirmation of my certificate. On seeing the email I went to my school to find out what's happening but I was told they've not any email from saqa and was given the email address to give to saqa which I did since but no response till now. House please kindly assist with any info that maybe of help. Someone in SA even went there and was told the same thing as I have in my email. Please what can I do again, what's the correct saqa email I send such complain to. Just help as I don't know what to do anymore. Thank u. |

Emasel: That's the exact email address I have been sending to but no response yet. its the second time of sending to them. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Emasel(m): 5:25pm On Nov 13, 2014 |
chemenger: Then maybe you should try calling them, because as long as there is no communication between SAQA and your school, your application will remain suspended. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by chemenger: 6:33pm On Nov 13, 2014 |
Emasel: ok, so how do I know if there is any communication between my school and saqa. What i observed is that there is no any email address provided by my school on the transcript I applied with. Could that be the cause of all this. I supposed saqa should have the email address of every school. |

Hi, Please I'm in the republic, my visa is expiring December, I wasted getting an appointment, now the earliest date I can get is December 9, I was wondering if they are strict on the appointment, whether I can just go to VFS office and submit. Thanks Cc TYPOP, manager007 |

chemenger:is your transcript addressed to SAQA? |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by chemenger: 1:23pm On Nov 15, 2014 |
surdik:No it wasn't addressed to saqa. It's just the transcript pages only and the certificate. Could that be a problem. I scanned a certified copy of my transcript and certificate to someone in SA who printed them out and submit for me. Saqa didn't state any address for applicants to put on transcript or maybe I wasn't aware. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by surdik(m): 6:07pm On Nov 15, 2014 |
chemenger:i will advice you to apply for a new transcript, make sure the transcript is addressed and sent to SAQA directly from your school.. That's what i did when my SAQA application was suspended .. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Julietjay(f): 12:54am On Nov 16, 2014 |
Hi guys how is O R tambo's point of entry like? I heard they turn those who don't have hotel reservations back at the point of entry. Please can anyone recommend a cheap hotel or lodge in Pretoria like Zar300 to 500 per night. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by TYPOP(m): 7:25am On Nov 16, 2014 |
chemenger: You can go to your school and confirm if they received SAQA's e-mail and surface mail and if they responded to that. Some schools WILL not do anything about the mails till you come and pay the necessary admin charges. That is true for AAUA at least. You may not need to apply for a new transcript. Just call SAQA, ask for when the e-mail was sent (date and time), what the subject was, what e-mail address it was sent to, the sender's e-mail address. This will help you to advise your school's registry in searching for their e-mail. Once they have responded, call SAQA back to inform them of the date the reply was sent, the sender's e-mail address and the time it was sent. The moment they get this, they will reopen your application. Cheers. surdik: And if Surdik said applying for a new transcript worked for him, that's great. You may want to explore that option as well. I cannot say it won't work since I never tried that option. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by TYPOP(m): 7:31am On Nov 16, 2014 |
damola91: Listen, you are already VERY late for the 60 days ultimatum. Plan to go home to apply even if you get to apply now in case they are strict with the new laws. Let me take my time to explain here. The new laws states that you must apply at least 60 days before the present one expires. You have less than 60 days now. However, nobody knows if they will be strict with that law. If you apply and do not get a decision from them before Dec 31, please go home before your visa expires. If you wait till their reply comes, saying you have already applied, they have covered that part of the law and if they deny you visa, they will declare you an "undesirable" in the republic for 12 months (if you don't stay more than 1 month after your visa expires). If you stay more than 1 month, you will be undesirable for 5 years. So do yourself a big favour and leave the republic for home to reapply for your visa from there in case you don't get any reply on time. We can only pray you get replied on time though. So what's the advice now? Get the earliest appointment you can at VFS now. Go to their office and try to lobby your way into applying even though your date is still far away. These guys are also humans and you may be favoured. Just explain your case well and hope for compassion. Also, don't give up until you are able to apply (as early as you can). But you must have gotten your police report by now (I assume). Otherwise, that's another 3 weeks of waiting. All the best. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by TYPOP(m): 7:33am On Nov 16, 2014 |
Julietjay: Ma'am please get your reservation right or a letter from your host and their passport data pages. It depends on the officer receiving you into the republic. But know this, they may (most likely) call the hotel or your host to confirm your reservation. If you are using a letter from your host, let them put their phones on and expect calls from the airport. |

Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by manikky: 11:42am On Nov 16, 2014 |
TYPOP:thanks TYPOP for the info. but this issue of 60 days ultimatum for renewal is somehow......so many study permit expires by Dec but many just got admission to further or letter from sch and hence renewal of their permit delayed till now. however, this home affairs is so slow with permit...I applied for study permit renewal in June 20 and got the permit on October 2nd. that is more than 3 months. does it mean if people submit according to the 60 days ultimatum ...it would be ready before the permit expires by DEC? I doubt it...and what will be their fate in the republic? cos I don't think if ur permit expires by DEC and u apply for renewal even in october....that the permit would be ready before DEC 31st. so what do u think is the best thing to do. I have a lot of people in this situation now. thanks |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Manager007: 12:18pm On Nov 16, 2014 |
manikky: TYPOP has rightfully advised you. The law states 60 days before visa expires. HOWEVER, its's very very possible for you to submit as long as your visa don't expire. Go to VFS in your area, speak to the guys at security, they will let you in. I advised because i have seen this happen lots of times. Even if you eventually secure an appointment date and miss it, its not the end of the world, go the very next day and submit. VFS in South Africa uses these methods to streamline entry and controls into their buildings and not to scare people away. Unlike the VFS in Nigeria. All the best bro! |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by manikky: 1:03pm On Nov 16, 2014 |
Manager007:OK..thanks bro but do u mean after application... they should return to home country cos like TYPOP said if he doesn't hear from home affairs before DEC when the permit expires. cos I don't think home affairs will be so fast as to issue within a month or so... after applying what is the best thing to do now.....application will be done this week. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Manager007: 1:53pm On Nov 16, 2014 |
manikky: From your question about "after applying what is the best thing to do"? Well, you have gotta to know that visa processing takes between 4 - 12 weeks. This is usually the time frame for renewals for Study visas within the RSA. The new SA Immigration Act is expressly clear on this, DO NOT DEPART SA UNLESS YOUR VISA HAS BEEN ISSUED,ELSE YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RE-ENTER SA. The Law has stated everybody must await the status of their applications before making travel plans. Gone are those days when your Visa Application receipt allows you departure and re-entry. If you submit next week, bear in mind your visa MAY NOT come out by Dec. So alternative plan would be for you to submit in Nigeria if you want. |
