Its very rude. The first rule to a polite conservation is "listening". I try my best not to do it actually,but sometimes when it can't be controlled,I check for a way to excuse myself from the conversation.

Uhmm.. not really. It depends on the kind of conversation we're having

No matter the kind of conversation am havin, i feel its not nice to be texting..... Except its a group discussion, den i can text, but if am havn d conversation with a girl... Its not right... And girls too should stop dat... I once had a female frnd who was textin me wen she was on a date with a guy and i seriously told her i wont chat wit her furthermore dat she should concentrate on her conversation..she told me it was getn borin and i told her dat even at that, show some respect..nd courtesy....i ended the chat ...

Its definitely rude and It shows that the person is not interested in your conversation. Such act shouldn't be tolerated at all.

Well if we are just having a general conversation i wont be bothered, but if we are having a serious discussion i would ask the person to put his/her phone down so we can talk.

You cannot always assume that whatever you have to say is far much more important than what that person is discussing on their phone its rather selfish, if you want full attention u simply request for it politely.

I usually just tell the person to give me his/her full attention if what I'm saying is really important.

I find ladies more guilty of this.

I will just quit the conversation for that shows you aint interested in what I'm saying !

I was really mad @my sisters when they did it to me.... They put up allegations against moi which I listened with keen interest , when I was defending each allegation .... They were replying their BFs on BBM ,Whatsapp , receiving calls and doing side talk ........

I just got mad @ them ... They'all apologised but I lost interest !!

Most ladies are culprits in this and some guys too. Pretty annoying I must say
