Why does it need to be on a mountain top?

Its in a mountain range

Or do you think that slippery snow makes the shell go further?

No, you are the fool that thinks artillery shell range increases because the gun is 'on a mountain top', how does it climb ?

Even ordinary hills of Gwoza Nigerian light artillery could not climb, now heavy artillery will climb up Himalayas mountain? fool !

At altitude means the target is on high land and you can see the shells landing on target, nobody tows artillery to mountain top, Bofors is driven by Scania vehicle, like a truck, it cannot climb mountain and helicopter cannot airlift Bofors artillery, so how does it leave army based and climb mountain ? Fool grin grin

I said 4000 because you first started saying that we deployed only 4000 men to the border.

Quote where I said that.

I have always said 18,000 at border, and 4,000 at frontline.

MPLA was 120,000 after bush war in year 2001. In bush war they had 70,000.

Cuban figures are disputed between 25,000 to 60,000. Average is about 40,000, add MPLA 70,000 you get 110,000 not 140,000

Dude, high altitude means the gun is fired at.... you guessed it... high altitude

Shells achieve ultra-long distance ranges there because the air is thinner, hence lest resistance to the shell in flight.

This is basic high-school physics. You should know this.

I have allready posted a picture of a Bofors in the Himalaya's, where the average elevation is 6000m above sea level - high altitude

This is pure desperation on your part, driven by the inability to comprehend even the simplest things

I was among 200 strong force which defeated approximately 3000 Seleka rebels in Bangui. I travelled many places in CAR, viz, Bangassou, Bambari, Bria and many villages around Bangui enforcing security for our instructors. The most memorable spot was along the banks of Ubangi river where our sappers used to fetch water for purification and around the vicinity of university of Bangui. Not to forget the screams from the locals greeting us in sango languages with great jubilance on our way to M'poko international. The warm greeting of the sango people screaming "Balao or Bonjour" is all that is engraved on my mind to date. However, I miss my comrades who fell in CAR.

Cool story for the gods.

*i laugh in greek*,they fought CAR rebels who didnt have tanks, anti tank missiles, rocket launchers,mortars,artillery,anti-aircraft guns,etc...was that even a "battle"?,10000 seleka rebels would be wiped out in a paltry few hours if they stand before 300 NA soldiers, and there wouldnt any casualty on the NA's side.boko haram fighters are more capable than the SANDF death bags that they call troops.over half of them are HIV positive just because they couldnt keep their service-rods zipped in their trousers, that shows a high level of indiscipline.

Physics ? You ? South African ? Science ?

You boxed yourself into a corner, see all your posts with no source to proof, no citations.

The real physics is that cold air on high altitude is heavier and gives more resistance to the shell and slows it down, cold air is a dense harder matter for shells to travel through, your science is crappy from your South African crappy schools grin grin

"Cold air is much heavier than warm air and this is the basis for much of what we call weather. You may have heard that a baseball or a golf ball will travel further on a warm, humid day than it would on a cold, dry day. Since the warm, humid air is less dense, the ball travels through it with less friction."

Air at high altitude is less dense than air at low altitude

If the entire mass of the atmosphere had a uniform density from sea level, it would terminate abruptly at an altitude of 8.50 km (27,900 ft). It actually decreases exponentially with altitude, dropping by half every 5.6 km (18,000 ft) or by a factor of 1/e every 7.64 km (25,100 ft), the average scale height of the atmosphere below 70 km (43 mi; 230,000 ft)

In summary, the mass of Earth's atmosphere is distributed approximately as follows:[23]

50% is below 5.6 km (18,000 ft).
90% is below 16 km (52,000 ft).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atmosphere_of_Earth#Physical_properties

Meaning that the air in the Himalaya's is half as dense as the air at ground level - this allows the shell to travel further

You see, my South African education has been proven to be superior to your bush-school education. This is basic, primary school, knowledge we are talking here. Knowledge you seemingly dont have.

Nigerian education is nonsense and is inferior to SA.

Air at high altitudes is less dense, that is a simple geography from primary school education that an MBA graduate could not solve. My son would have answered that question without any difficulty. @Agaugust at high altitudes, oxygen (O2) which is heavier than other molecules of gases that make up composition of air is less. Hence, molecules of Oxygen are more concentrated on low altitudes making it easy for humans and animals to be in reach of it. So, mister Agau your Nigerian education is up to scratch, no wonder many Nigerians study abroad including here in SA.

We have carried out multiple over-hauls on NNS Aradu on many occasions in-country.

Nothing new.

“According to the Review the SANDF is in a critical state of decline, is unsustainable and prime mission equipment, especially in the landward force, faces block obsolescence. “Ammunition stocks are depleted, infrastructure is falling apart, skilled staff is leaving and the arms of the various services operate in silos and are unable to manage basic procurement, which is centralised and run by the deputy director-general in the Defence Secretariat.”

Nope unlike your brainless generals who have decided to chase pirates with subs, Nigeria doesn't buy, what Nigeria doesn't need.

2 long endurance ships from the U.S
2 corvettes/OPV's from china
2 additional ships from turkey and china
6 65 meters IPV's from the netherlands
Additional 2 Helicopters from china.

This is how you make procurements, based on the Nations needs, on a need to buy, not on a need to buy 26 jets with only 8 pilots to fly.

Posting photos of 4 Augusta LUH of 30 proves absolutely nothing.

Most of the SAAF’s 30-strong light helicopter fleet is grounded because of the “almost total lack of flying-hour allocation”, according to the Defenceweb site. Defenceweb writes that this “precarious financial and personnel situation” also led to the humiliation of the SAAF managing to keep its specialist maritime helicopters aloft for fewer than a dozen hours,".

Again, coming here to post flight hours of your presidential fleet, which is part of the SAAF is absolute balderdash.

You didn't deploy soldiers for anti-poaching ops....... grin grin

Unfortunately, Nigerian teachers can only teach in government schools teaching disadvantaged students who could not afford private education.

Density of Air is dependant on several factors such as temperature and altitude. The higher the temperature the lesser the density of air. The higher the altitude the lesser the density of air. However, the opposite will result should we apply the low temperature and low altitude.

In short I remain appalled by some of the details that you have written above, since you failend to give proper explanation which is free of ambiguity. I do not believe you can even understand what you have written.

In conclusion, Nigerias education is a flop
