eddy20: To get cheaper deals on fones and anyoda stuffs u need...u have to make use of classified ads websites. such as kijiji or Craigslist. Thats where u can stuffs for bargain. I got my phone for CAD350 brand new which is far better than paying CAD200 to phone operator and be on maximum plan for 2yrs contract. There's absolutely nofin free in oyinbo contract...u must read those contracts n fully understand the words or else u go pay soteh! The iphone 6 fever don go dwn for here... lately bn seeing the price for iphone on kijiji n Craigslist for like CAD 700. Choice of phone is a personal decision. If u like android go for android n if na iphone u like, go for iphone. Also note to those coming ...dnt go for the highest phone plans, it doesn't worth it. U will have unlimited Internet in ur house and in ur school. Am on a plan of 500mb a month and I dnt use up to 150mb monthly. Sometimes I really think am bn 419 cos u use am or u no use am , u gast pay dat phone bill monthly. |

Hello All, I am actually new here but i'm sure from what i have read here, i would get the best of assistance from you guys. My wife was issued an admission/acceptance letter from Regina University a couple of days ago. I must confess, the tuition is very high (Cad$ 16,000) and we are seeking alternative school and or course as i write. My thinking are that, since she can boast of a statement of account from a sponsor here (just to secure visa), she may defer the admission upon her arrival in Canada and go for a course that I can afford to pay for. The other issue is that, I am looking at the possibility of joining her as well as our son as spouse and dependant child respectively in her application. I will appreciate if you guys can give us your candid advise. I am equally trying to get a six month sabbatical leave form work and intend to include the approved leave in our application. I will like to know if it will be possible for me to secure a work permit also. Lastly, I wish to mention that I have travelled to The Netherlands, Germany and UK in the past two years, my wife and son visited the UK this year. I currently have a valid 2 years UK visa while myself, my wife and son posses a valid 2 years American visa. PLEASE ADVISE... |

kaynine59: Kai take ur mind off contract things ooo make I explain how the contract things work. say u won collect S5 now from Rogers now , u will pay $200 for the phone n sign 2yrs contract n u will have to be on a maximum plan,$90 per month. Now calculate aw mch the contract will cost u as a whole: $200 +90 x 24months($2160) = $2360 total cost of ur contract for 2yrs b this( rmber u still av to pay tax on this) Now other option: buy ur phone outrightly say $400 n u have a monthly plan of $45. $400+ 45x24months($1080)= $1480 ( tax also will calculated on this) THIS IS HOW IT WORKS....Saving almost $880 will gt u 2 new S5 which u can send home to mama n papa 2 Likes |

I got same mail yesterday. i also got a follow on one saying it has been couriered from visa application centre so i guess if you didn't pay for courier to your house you can go to visa application centre to collect. chilonchi247: |

So long its a GSM iphone and not a CDMA.. I believe most networks are GSM.. you just need to make sure your phone can switch between 900 and 1800.. You'd be fine vanrichie4u: 1 Like |

henrybabs: To be candid with u, the cheapest sch u can get to school in canada is memorial university apart from that I dnt thnk thrs any school below 10k in tuition fee for international student. Applying to Mun will be ur best option bt then that will take time cos she will av to go thru the whole admission process again. Coming with her wunt help, let her come 1st and after a semester in school she can invite u over with ur son.its easy that way. U can't get a work permit like dat, u will have to spnd almost 3months in canada 1st b4 u can apply for a working permit. I hope this helps. 1 Like |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by xeshie: 2:41pm On Nov 18, 2014 |
kaynine59: If u r a student and u have ur work permit , u can start working immediately however its not always easy as it seems .u have to search for job first na n dat doesn't come easy as most new students dnt have the CANADIAN experience or canadian soft skills. Anyways u can gt a job bt the ultimate thing is how u can joggle ur study with work. This can b done bt I wunt advise u to trade some few dollars with ur study. Rmber u r here to study n dat shud b ur main aim, getting the gud grades shud come first. And I can bet, sch schedule n works will practically worn u off , u go see job n u go talk u no want. 4 Likes |

This is wat I got from a potential supervisor in university of manitoba after sending him my academic profile to know weda am qualified for any scholarship ... "Almost every graduate student we accept get a scholarship. The normal amount for a MSc student is $17,000...." does that mean I will be given a scholarship once I apply? |
