The immediate past Minister of State for Education,
Chief Nyesom Wike, has denied a media report that he
has withdrawn from the Rivers State governorship race.
Wike, an aspirant on the platform of the Peoples
Democratic Party, Monday, dismissed the report and
called on Nigerians, especially people of Rivers, to
disregard the report.
According to him, the news that he had purportedly
backed out from the race was sponsored by other
governorship aspirants who were afraid of him.
He said, “These planted false reports on the pages of
newspapers and the electronic media that I have
withdrawn from the race and contesting the senate seat
are proofs of my general acceptance, popularity and the
confirmation that I am primed to win the governorship
primary and the general election in the interest of the
people.
“The Rivers people cannot be deceived by lies told by
frightened aspirants who have no connection with the
PDP members, delegates and leaders. They are not in
touch with the Rivers people, hence their resort to
falsehood and untenable stories. The PDP family is
united behind me to lead our party back to the Brick
House.
“I have the capacity to face APC and defeat them. The
so-called governorship aspirants are afraid of
competition; hence they are jumping from one office to
the other telling stories”.

Sekibo did not pick expression of interest form so how could he be Governor when eligibility litigation will trail his imposition if it happens as regard your postulation

Your postulation is already proving to be wrong. You have said this a million times here but the reality proves otherwise. Sekibo has shown openly that he has no govenorship ambition neither does PEJ want to force her kins man on Rivers state as you have often claimed. Wike is the major contender in PDP and unfortunately Kalabari cannot unit to provide a single candidate to match him as they have over 6 aspirants in PDP. As for APC, no doubt it's either Magnus Abe or Dakuku Peterside depending if Wike eventually gets the flag for PDP.
