Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal Muhammad Bello in Abuja The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has called for the reconvening of the lower chamber on Thursday to consider the request of President Goodluck Jonathan to extend emergency rule in the beleaguered North-East states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe. A notification by the office of the Speaker issued on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Imam Imam, said: "On Tuesday, 18th November 2014, I received a communication from the President, Commander-in- Chief of the Armed Forces, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, requesting for the extension of the existing State of Emergency in Adamawa , Borno and Yobe States by the House of Representatives. "Pursuant to the powers conferred on me by Section 305 ( 2 ) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, which requires me to ‘forthwith convene or arrange a meeting of the House’ and in order to treat the extension before the expiration of the current State of Emergency in accordance with Section 305 (6) (c) of the Constitution, I hereby reconvene the House of Representatives." APC controls less states..not upto 10 states compared to PDP that controls 20+ states.It is really impossible for Buhari to win Jonathan..Because pple will be scared to vote in d north...Does clamouring for Buhari should ask yourself hw what you've benefitted from Buhari..etc..As for me i have benefited frm Jonathan and am sticking with him 2 Likes |

My questions to Mr. Tambourine or tanbuwal is that: 1. The country is in a mess for over 100 yrs, pls tell us how many times did people from other regions have ruled this country and who are those that have plunged us into this mess if not some of the northerners that have ruled in the past 2. You scream corruption, why haven't you disclosed your salary and emoluments and in a bid to show you seriousness in tackling it demand that your salaries (as well as other members) be reduced 3. We know that the petroleum industry bill has been in the house for long, why haven't you pushed for its passage since it will address the problem and corruption in the oil sector if they aren't benefiting from it. 4. Must you run from ANPP, PDP and now to APC for a bring meaningful development to the country, why didn't you remain in the party and contribute to bring about development 5. Tambuwal, now bitting the hands that pulled him in; why disclosing how bad the ruling party now is, why didn't you do that for long rather at this last hours? |
