NIGERIANS NEED APC-MANIFESTO, NOT RAGE Jonathan cannot be Clueless and also Machiavellian -Attorney Patryk Utulu As a society we do not usually examine WHY politicians cry but we reserve the right to tell them HOW NOT to cry to us. Opposition parties need power and any lawful quests to defeat the Ruling party is legitimate. However, it is not the duty of a ruling party to prop up the opposition. As Nigerians await APC Presidential candidate, its leaders must beware: Nigerians need to see/hear its manifesto, not insults. DEMONization and DENIALism are two sides of the same coin: frustration! When one tribe repeatedly loses to another the defeated/frustrated tribe tends to fabricate stories that the stronger tribe uses sorcery ("juju". The demonizing of stronger tribes as (demon-possessed or demon-assisted) serves a therapeutic function for weaker tribes: it helps to deal with the shame/frustration of defeat. When it is NOT possible to "demonize" a stronger tribe the weaker tribe tends to deny reality. They invent myth and convince themselves that the stronger tribe is full of CLUELESS buffoons who win by lucky or mischief, thus, untrustworthy. In wishful narratives, losers deny the humanity of those who bested them. It is silly denialism to accuse a man who rose to the top of his own party machinery --and who has repeatedly beaten the oppositions' political apparatuses-- of cluelessness. Nigerian politicians are many things: mean-spirited, illiterate, corrupt, lawless, perfidious and even treasonous. But clueless, they aren't. In teaching us how to lose graciously my Dad used to say that the more you demonize your enemy the more you look like your enemy to neutral observers. In their bitterness/defeatism/frustration about a man who twice beat them to win earth's most powerful office, U.S. Republicans often accuse Barack Obama of being simultaneously a secret Muslim and a Christian theology hardliner. They see no contradiction in accusing him of being a rabid Socialist set on destroying America while also complaining that Obama spent almost $1TRILLION to save the U.S. Wall Street (the unofficial capital of global capitalism) and a pillar of America's capitalist system. We see the same blind rage and hatred in Nigeria. President Jonathan's enemies/opposition seem to entertain no shame as they try to pin two MUTUALLY CONTRADICTORY labels on him. They accuse him of "clueless incompetence" and then instantaneously turn around and accused him of "Machiavellian competence" in scheming to eliminate all of the North. Amazing, isn't it? Enough! Respect Nigerians. Please tone down insults and give us manifestos. A manifesto is a public declaration of policy and aims, especially if issued before an election by a political party or candidate. Nigerians need to see the manifesto of APC and PDP. We need the opportunity to review the governing philosophies of both parties for Decision 2015. APC must know that to defeat a champion is to knock a champion out. So, APC needs to do more to convince Nigerians that it would govern differently and govern better. And HOW!!!! While insulting President Jonathan may make you feel good it is no substitute for a manifesto. Respect Nigerians if you want to win. Millions of Nigerians may not know the dialectics of philosophy but they have uncommon common sense that will instinctively tell them that Machiavellian buffoonery is an impossibility. ***** Attorney Patryk A. I posted this in another thread... Its funny that APC does not seem to have a party platform. For a party that claims to be revolutionary and progressive the only thing I ever here from them is Jonathan this, Jonathan that... We are 2 and a half months away from elections and I have no idea what this party and her presidential candidates stand for. I mean what is their opinion on the local content policy in the oil and gas sector? Do they think it should be implemented in other sectors of the economy? what is their stance on the PIB Bill? (VERY IMPORTANT!!!) What do they think about the governments auto policy and its implementation? what do they think about Jonathans agricultural agenda? Do they think Nigeria is practicing true federalism? Do they think improvements can be made in its implementation? What steps are they going to take to curb corruption? What is the their stance on Nigeria's decision to refuse to sign the EU EPA agreement? (VERY VERY IMPORTANT!!!!) Do they support resource control? How do they intend to put a stop to Boko harams activities and bring peace to the North? (VERY VERY IMPORTANT!!!) How do they intend to solve our power problem? Do they agree with Jonathan's privatization of PHCN? What do they think of the federal governments plans to privatize the airports? How do they plan to diversify the economy? Are they pro big government or small government? Do they agree with the federal governments plans to privatize various sectors of the economy? What do they think about the current state of Nigeria's foreign policy? How do they intend to put a stop to Gas pipeline Vandalism in the country? (VERY IMPORTANT!!!) What is their thoughts on the Chinese and their growing footprint in Nigeria? Do they support the federal governments decision to give so many contracts worth billions of dollars to Chinese firms? So many questions... 11 Likes 3 Shares |

Manifesto not rage Issues not insults Thats the demand of all sound minds who desire good leadership Its amazing that all the e-rodents of APC have never engaged us on issue based politics. If APC wins, Nigerians will be grossly disappointed....there is nothing on the table except that Jonathan must go.... |

This guy nailed it. Very abt and straight to the point. Unfortunately APC has no ideology. Even if they do, it would be insults again all over from the beginning to the end. They are like Headless chickens moving around with no direction. |

It's on record that at all APC rallies and conventions, they mention GEJ and PDP, many more times than they talk about themselves and what they have to offer. They think chanting change is an ideology. Fashola has been disappointing, even at simple social functions he will talk about FG, GEJ. It's very disgraceful for someone of his caliber to join this kind of thing |

true talk. What is their own policy to counter the president policy. Then we would know that they are serious. |
