The silent treatment is so annoying, issues should be resolved as soon as the two ppl involved calm down. When you keep giving me the silent treatment the amount of respect i ve for you will keep going down. 5 Likes |

Kachisbarbie:Exactly as it was posted you need to buy some time, take a walk or just find something nto relax with......silent keeping can take some minute, even hours depending on the level of the heat. The ground rule is it must not last 3days and the first to say hello takes all the goodness. Thank you 2 Likes 1 Share |

Not good. I can recommend it if tempers are high at the moment and saying anything then can cause more problems than solve them. Especially if one is prone to 'misyarn' during moments of anger so that they don't say stuff they will forever regret. But when tempers cool down,it is good to talk it out if you sabi talk or put it in writing if you can't talk : 16 Likes 2 Shares |

Silent treatment is a sign of maturity. It takes a lot of self control to shut your mouth, think things over, analyze and talk. Silent treatment, when used the right way, is very effective. 86 Likes 4 Shares |

If its done to calm your nerves/anger, fine. But it becomes immaturity when abused at the slightest provocation or for every misunderstanding and when its prolonged. Its capable of destroying relatnshps/marriages. Ive heard of a marriage that ended in divorce becos of silent treatment that lasted for a year. Thats how dangerous it is. Communication is key. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Sophyrocks: hiannn!! 1year? ? Who was dishing out the treatment? Some people have mind though. I can't even do it (silent treatment) for more than 3minutes, I would rant, once I'm done ranting___ it's over. I forget that issue almost immediately. 4 Likes |

Kachisbarbie:It was the husband o. Only God knows what would make a man deliberately avoid his wife for a year. Not like she cheated o. If it were to be so, he could have just divorced her. Prolonged silent treatment means you are not interested in the marriage/relationship. Its not advisable at all. 3 Likes |

Sometimes silence is better. I give d silent treatment to make my hubby calm. He comes back to sort tins out if I jst bone and maintain my lane. But if I rant, hmm, d house will be on fire and he won't knw I'm angry. He dreads my silence 12 Likes |

If i'm wrong,i apologize. If you are,i shut up and wait for your brain to start working normally again. Besides,i stutter.. Especially when i'm angry. So most times, the ladies involved think i'm giving them the ST but in reality i'm tryna hold myself from biting my tongue or exploding and saying crappy stuff i'ma regret later. 17 Likes 1 Share |

Silent treatment is immature and childish. If you have a problem with someone ,the best way is to talk about it and if that person is mature both of you should be able to iron out your differences and whoever that is at fault should find it less hard to apologize and everyone involved gets to move on. Most folks that prefers the silent treatment are emotional blackmailers and I for once do not hesitate to walk away from such drama. There is no point staying with someone that wouldn't talk to you for days or do things with you in harmony,I'd rather get myself a manikin at home than live with a silent emotional abuser........They are manipulators and you do not let anybody manipulate and play with your emotions. 29 Likes 4 Shares |

@Kachisbarbie......Silent treatment givers are emotional blackmailers. One common thing that I have noticed about silent treatment givers is their inability to receive just 1 minute of silent treatment from their partners. They will do everything humanly possible to make you talk, they will poke you, they will do all manner of things even irritating things to make you talk and the more they do this the more offensive they become. They would rather cover all their misdeeds with playful banters instead of sitting down and talk about the issue at hand. But as soon as it becomes them at the other end, they will stone up and become as cold as anything and expect you to beg until their ego is well massaged and they will turn around and behave as if they've done one great favor for you......All na wayo. They are indirectly manipulating you - Because immediately after then whatever they do that doesn't go down well with you would get a natural waiver because no man in his right senses would want to stir up the hornet's nest after all that silent treatment and the begging for peace that followed. I repeat silent treatment is immature and childish and they can be manipulative - And if you try it with me ,I'll personally treat you like you never existed until you come back to your senses and act like human. 30 Likes 3 Shares |

Silent treatment is golden at some instance it's term immaturity at some instance Also it's wicked and phoolish at some instances But Before applying this treatment ones have to assess the situation, causes, environment and the precedence of the person in question Also the temperament of the opposing person u wanna give that treatment too and why u wanna give it 4 Likes |

Kachisbarbie: You aware men desperately hates women that rants.... So, once men give them 'a word' to keep quiet, they feel insulted and decide to go all silent until he 'apologise'... Silent treatment is good for the ranting type of women, for women that are specialist in deviating from the issue of discourse just to avoid the blame at all cost. |

If you don't abuse it, it can be very useful in handling some situations. I don't give the full silent treatment sha, will respond to necessary questions concerning other important issues with the barest minimum of words in reply. With regards to the issue that brought on the silent treatment I won't give an opinion anymore, usually say stuff like "I don't know" or "do whatever you think is right" If am the one receiving the treatment I usually apologise for whatever and if you continue then you are on your own, will give you space and wait you out. It could be good or bad but I think it's necessary. 4 Likes |

Silent treatment was my daily companion before I took this words to heart When people laugh at you, you better laugh along. This way, the shame will be reduced. The more you frown, the more they will laugh I have come to realize that words among friends that tends to incite one to the angry are jokes made to b laughed at but when one takes it to heart there are friends that laugh u more n then continue getting angry till u r tired in other spheres apart from friends, I respect other people's opinion n tries as much as possible to see things through their views thereby making me not to b infuriated no matter whatsoever they might tend to do 7 Likes |
