Attimes, I wonder how its name got coined by appending 'chicken' to 'pox' cos I dont think this red/black itchy sickness is in anyway related to birds. Albeit, I am less worried about the name.
Consequently, the confusing thing there which lure perplexity is the fact that this occurs once in a life time. I therefore, implore experts, medical practioners and the likes to enlighten us more on this and also unearth to us the mystery behind this phenomenon with detailed and scientific explanations if any.

Sum antibodies standby for few weeks(malaria) and sum standby for life time(chicken pox) hence explains why most people only suffer chicken pox once in a life time.
