Am a catholic but i do not support the pope's action.his predecessors did the same but with what results? No true peace without christ the pope is just wasting his precious time,if you want there to peace pray for them to be converted to christ's all this dialogue is useless jesus instructed his church to pray for them and make them his disciples and not to dialogue with them.
These people are only doing what their god commanded them they can never change its like trying to evangelise lucifer
If they can never change as yu stated, that means no need to pray.. Also means Jesus didn't give the right teaching.

It is on the basis of the knowledge that Christianity and Islam are two different, entirely opposed religions and that God is more interested in the salvation of souls, muslims included than making peace between the one true religion and another, that i hereby say that the pope is a 100% WRONG to pray in a mosque.
Does he think that by doing so, he'll make peace? HELL NO! The main purpose, agenda of islam is to islamize the WHOLE world, and sadly, to some extent, they are achieving it in some countries.
They have already started creeping into the U.S, U.K, France and other European countries, and if nothing is done, soon they will islamize the whole world, as they already have a strong foothold in africa, they also want to have the other continents in their grasp.
Nothing will appease or change their mind from achieving this plot EXCEPT GOD ALMIGHTY.
The pope is only wasting his time because they won't stop till the whole world is totally islamized.

Fam, tell us how Christians and Muslims worship one God and quit pulling "assertions" from your nostrils. undecided
Some of the biggest misconceptions that many non-Muslims have about Islam have to do with the word “Allah.” For various reasons, many people have come to believe that Muslims worship a different God than Christians and Jews. This is totally false, since “Allah” is simply the Arabic word for “God” - and there is only One God. Let there be no doubt - Muslims worship the God of Noah, Abraham, Moses, David and Jesus - peace be upon them all. However, it is certainly true that Jews, Christians and Muslims all have different concepts of Almighty God. For example, Muslims - like Jews - reject the Christian beliefs of the Trinity and the Divine Incarnation. This, however, does not mean that each of these three religions worships a different God - because, as we have already said, there is only One True God. Judaism, Christianity and Islam all claim to be “Abrahamic Faiths”, and all of them are also classified as “monotheistic.” However, Islam teaches that other religions have, in one way or another, distorted and nullified a pure and proper belief in Almighty God by neglecting His true teachings and mixing them with man-made ideas.

First of all, it is important to note that “Allah” is the same word that Arabic-speaking Christians and Jews use for God. If you pick up an Arabic Bible, you will see the word “Allah” being used where “God” is used in English. This is because “Allah” is a word in the Arabic language equivalent to the English word “God” with a capital “G”. Additionally, the word “Allah” cannot be made plural, a fact which goes hand-in-hand with the Islamic concept of God.

It is interesting to note that the Aramaic word “El”, which is the word for God in the language that Jesus spoke, is certainly more similar in sound to the word “Allah” than the English word “God.” This also holds true for the various Hebrew words for God, which are “El” and “Elah”, and the plural or glorified form “Elohim.” The reason for these similarities is that Aramaic, Hebrew and Arabic are all Semitic languages with common origins. It should also be noted that in translating the Bible into English, the Hebrew word “El” is translated variously as “God”, “god” and “angel”! This imprecise language allows different translators, based on their preconceived notions, to translate the word to fit their own views. The Arabic word “Allah” presents no such difficulty or ambiguity, since it is only used for Almighty God alone. Additionally, in English, the only difference between “god”, meaning a false god, and “God”, meaning the One True God, is the capital “G”. Due to the above mentioned facts, a more accurate translation of the word “Allah” into English might be “The One -and-Only God” or “The One True God.”

More importantly, it should also be noted that the Arabic word “Allah” contains a deep religious message due to its root meaning and origin. This is because it stems from the Arabic verb ta’allaha (or alaha), which means “to be worshipped.” Thus in Arabic, the word “Allah” means “The One who deserves all worship.” This, in a nutshell, is the Pure Monotheistic message of Islam.

Suffice it to say that just because someone claims to be a “monotheistic” Jew, Christian or Muslim, that does not keep them from falling into corrupt beliefs and idolatrous practices. Many people, including some Muslims, claim belief in “One God” even though they’ve fallen into acts of idolatry. Certainly, many Protestants accuse Roman Catholics of idolatrous practices in regards to the saints and the Virgin Mary. Likewise, the Greek Orthodox Church is considered “idolatrous” by many other Christians because in much of their worship they use icons. However, if you ask a Roman Catholic or a Greek Orthodox person if God is “One”, they will invariably answer: “Yes!.” This claim, however, does not stop them from being “creature worshipping” idolaters. The same goes for Hindus, who just consider their gods to be “manifestations” or “incarnations” of the One Supreme God.

Before concluding… there are some people out there, who are obviously not on the side of truth, that want to get people to believe that “Allah” is just some Arabian “god”[1], and that Islam is completely “other” - meaning that it has no common roots with the other Abrahamic religions (i.e. Christianity and Judaism). To say that Muslims worship a different “God” because they say “Allah” is just as illogical as saying that French people worship another God because they use the word “Dieu”, that Spanish-speaking people worship a different God because they say “Dios” or that the Jews worshipp a different God because they sometimes call Him “Yahweh.” Certainly, reasoning like this is quite ridiculous! It should also be mentioned, that claiming that any one language uses the only the correct word for God is tantamount to denying the universality of God’s message to mankind, which was to all nations, tribes and people through various prophets who spoke different languages.

In fact, the pope represents himself in this respect. How many imams go to church for fellowship? It's disgusting and demeaning to see respectable Christian leaders run to these religious fanatics in quest for peace truce. Mr Pope, stay away from those "believers"! They see you and every other Christian as worthless pagans.
Until Christians begin to stand shoulder to shoulder with muslims and "force" them to accept that the earth offers everyone equal opportunity to seek a decent peaceful life, they (muslims) will continue to see themselves as lords, and others, subjects.

The Creation of the World

1 In the abeginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was bwithout form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 And God said, c“Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
6 And God said, d“Let there be an expanse1 in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” 7 And God made2 the expanse and eseparated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were fabove the expanse. And it was so. 8 And God called the expanse Heaven.3 And there was evening and there was morning, the second day.
9 And God said, g“Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry land Earth,4 and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
11 And God said, h“Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants5 yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so. 12 The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.
14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for isigns and for jseasons,6 and for days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. 16 And God kmade the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. 17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 to lrule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.
20 And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds7 fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.” 21 So mGod created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, n“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day.
24 And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. 25 And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, o“Let us make man8 in our image, pafter our likeness. And qlet them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
rmale and female he created them.
28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, s“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. tYou shall have them for food. 30 And uto every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. 31 vAnd God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

Islam thrives on making subjects out of people. As you've indeed stated, the Pope's action compares to that of someone who appears not to understand their mission or has simply chosen to ignore reality. Christians are suffering because the supposed leaders won't stop shifting grounds in compromise. He, like most Christians, is licking bitter butts.

Word!
The pope in his bid to make peace between christianity and islam has flagrantly disobeyed God's commandment to not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. Praying for them is one thing, praying with them inside their mosque is something God would forbid. How can a supposed vicar of Christ disobey God's word and lead millions, probably billions into error?
The pope is doing something highly forbidden by God-praying in an idol's house just for peace sake. Smh
You have laid out ur point to the best of ur knowledge. I refrain from condemning u. What most of u fail to understand is we live in a world that is pluralistic in terms of belief in the omnipotence. Christians, moslems, Hindus, animist and free-thinkers must live side by side. The catholic church has a 2000 years of experience in dis area. She has had a peaceful nd bloody encounter with the sons/daughters of ishmael. Anyway conversant with the crusades will know that violent confrontations and virulent utterances aint the best. From the earliest dayz of Christianity, Christ set an example we shud imitate. Even wen d poor were ill-treated...he recognised with their sufferings but refused to make inciting comments as expected of him by the zealots hoping to trigger anarchy. Wen Christ walk dis earth as man, there were several religion in the Roman empire...judaisam, stoicism, Greek polyteistic faiths etc. Even Judaism has differnt sects. Holy as he is Christ didn't shun invitation to the house of the pharisees or sadducee. he ate nd dine with them ...even worshipped in the synagogue as a Jew wen it ws clear he was Instituting a faith the will bring all men salvation. St paul the greatest theologian and missionary who is unanimously credited among theologians, as one who dealt a fatal blow to Judaism also advocated harmony with pple of different faith. He admonished one who is invited to d house of an unbeliever to act in a way that won't weaken the faith of fellow believer.(1cor. 10 v 27-33). St paul himself dialogued with pagan scholars in the areopagus ( a kind of hall dedicated to the athenian Gods where stoic/epicurean philosophers usually meet). Cf acts 17: 16-33. So the pope in ur view might be wrong...but u just in d comfort zone of ur house ...you know nothing abt church dialogue...the catholic church has 2 millennia experience in this.
The early missionaries did it...first the houses the lodged in were sometimes also inhabit idols...they made friends with even witch doctors ...visit them in their shrine. They became like them sometimes outwardly to win them to Christ. Cf 1 cor. 9 : 19-23. As a staunch catholic, I sometimes find it difficult to approve of his action...just like the disciples were scandalise with some of Jesus' action ...like with d Samaritan woman, being anointed by a sinful woman...having women with questionable morals among his disciples...the truth is he knows better than most of us in steering the church to its ultimate destination- the beatific vision. One truth is the pope can't undermine the teachings of Christ nor compromise his baptismal faith to please man. He is answerable to Christ his Lord nd master how he live his life nd lead the more than a billion souls entrusted to him. If we criticise, it shudnt b out of malice or faint knowledge but with love...let back him up with our prayers.

Why do u want him to become a moslem? Isn't this the same cause/root of terrorism. U guys have the same blood running in ur system abi wah do we call dis when you guys cant tolerate oda religion(s). I guess to curb terrorism, Islam teachings should be checked @ every level. U guys should be taught and be woken to d reality that Islam is not the only religion and God can't be fought for.
so praying for the greatest good for others is now terrorism.

There is nothing special about this. This is a setting of a Father visiting one his Son.
Catholic church of the Roman Empire days trained muahmed and they later formulated the quaran for his followers after is death. Though that book is not complete as the catholic who were the brain behind Islam and quaran removed all the main secret connections of the papal with muahmed and what actually they used him for in the east.
All the things muahmmed knows about the Torah and Injil (Bible) which some of them are about Jesus Christ was revealed to him by those who he calls angels which are the same "fathers" or saints of the catholic faith.
This is not about "what is this one saying".
If you do not study it, you can never know about it let alone explaining it to people.
Do your research.

May Allah (SWA) continue to bless you sir.
Thee is only one God.
We worship Only one God.
So you believe that there is only One God of I believe too; but the god you people kill for, I don't know or believe

This isn't really proof. one book was written more than 600 years before the other.

Every child is born atheist , parents then force religion. Try to be open minded and read more , those who wrote Thiers 600 years later weren't trying to overtake the bible , I believe it has an element of truth especially because different in languages all the stories of creation are similar

Trust some people to think otherwise of this simple act meant to show peace and unity. Whether muslim or christian, we are supposed to unite against this global war, instead of shifting blames. Later we'll be blaming the government when we are also to blame. Mtsw
