mikeansy: Have you seen the debt profile of the United States compared to other countries in the world? Why do you think the USA and Lagos both had AA+ ratings by Fitch. You dont know economics and how debt to potentials ratios are calculated and analyzed. A good and shrewd businessman invest with other people's monies and benefit himself and others. If you don't know ask warren Buffet and Donald Trump. Lagos has more on ground that is more than its debts 10x over. America has over $1trillion debt and just raise their debt/loan ceiling to take more loan. Can Nigeria with lower debt compare to America ? Only ignorant people talk about loan taking as a debt, loan is a good source of revenue of it is used for purpose meant and serviced well. 1 Like |

Here them say oh their national manifesto is based on Lagos achievement but refused to project the very man who oversaw the "achievement" in Lagos. It seems to me that even APC does not even believe in their own pilot government Talk about a party without convictions! 5 Likes |

pendy179: Ok APC should show us the maths Will they borrow money to pay for their programmes? Let them say so! Will they raise taxes to pay for their programmes? They should also say so clearly. The electorate needs to know these things in order to make an informed choice! Basing you economic plan on digging up natural resources and unpredictable oil prices does not sound like a roadmap to me! The days when people hoodwink Nigerians with platitudes are gone! 4 Likes |

mikeansy: Even if APC wants to field Fashola as their VP Candidate, would bigots like you support him?! APC hasn't even conducted its Presidential Primaries and some people are already saying NO to Muslim/Muslim ticket. Let's even forget the VP Slot and go for the Presidential Ticket. Is Fashola contesting?! Even if he's contesting, would many people not say Obasanjo from the SW ruled Nigeria for 8yrs and Fashola from the same SW wants to rule again?! Many regions would complain of marginalization! 1 Like |

mikeansy: I knew you wouldn't agree to that. Ok. Lemme be a little bit calm sir. If Fashola is given the APC VP Slot when Buhari wins the Presidential Ticket, would you vote them since you've agreed he's a performer?! Wouldn't you say they want to islamize this country?! We all know some people especially from the SS/SE are saying they won't vote a Muslim/Muslim ticket. If Fashola also contests the APC Presidential Primaries and wins the ticket, would you vote him?! I'm asking this because some people believe that Obasanjo from the SW ruled Nigeria for 8yrs and they wouldn't want another person from that region (SW) become the President for now. Won't they complain of marginalization?! 1 Like |

donphilopus: I will vote for President Fashola because I have said so many times on this site that even though I don't agree with everything he does I believe that he is one of the most brilliant politicians of this generation! But I will not vote for VP Fashola and get a President Buhari because you can put a lipstick on a pig? It's still a pig! Watch Lagos vote against Buhari in the election even if Fashola is his VP! 4 Likes |

mikeansy: What happened in 2011 wouldn't repeat itself come next year. Many Lagosians believed that Jonathan was the messiah then, they all voted him. Since he has shown them his true person, they'd never try that again. He won't be able to win most SW States he won in 2011 because he's divided Nigerians with his ethnic/religious card! If APC fields a popular person from the SW as their VP, they'd massively win the region. But, if they field Fashola, I'd advise GEJ to consider there a no-go region because they would all go out en masse and vote Fashola! |
Re: APC: Road Map To A New Nigeria. by Nobody: 2:45pm On Nov 30, 2014 |
donphilopus: Lol, the South West is smarter than that! Jonathan's worst records in the last 4years pales in comparison to Buhari's 30years of records Again I say it as I have said before, the people of South West are too civilised and enlightened to vote a 76year old former Military Dictator as President in 2015. Buhari can go and wake Awolowo from grave and make him his running mate if he likes he still wont win the South West. APC needs to learn political calculation, they are getting it wrong again! I wanted an opposition that will give PDP a run for their money but this election is looking like a cakewalk for PDP because of this Buhari nonsense. 5 Likes |

mikeansy: I dislike seeing stuffs like Candidates that would make PDP run for their money. It's visible to the blind and audible to the deaf that PDP wants to try everything humanly possible to ensure that Buhari does not get the APC ticket because if he does, they know how the election is gonna be. Most Southerners didn't know who Buhari was around 2011 when he contested under a new Party, CPC. Atiku, alongside Buhari have contested the same election before around 2007 and we all know what happened. Yaradua came 1st, Buhari came 2nd, while Atiku came distant 3rd, regardless of the fact that Yaradua himself confirmed himself that the election was massively rigged. Even as 'wretched' as Buhari was, he was still able to have 3 against Yaradua's 4 in the Supreme Court, while the extra rich Atiku managed to get 1, while Yaradua trashed him with about 5. If Buhari has got 4 then, I'm very certain he would have been in his second term as the President. Apart from Buhari, I don't think there's anybody capable of defeating GEJ easily. Tambuwal only enjoys the sympathy of people, he can't defeat GEJ. An average Yoruba, Igbo, Urhobo, Bini, Itshekiri, Ijaw man does not know who Kwankwaso is, as such, he wouldn't be able to win. Even in the North, he's not too know. As for Atiku, his reputation has far gone. Buhari is the only person who can bring change. And I'm happy he's universally accepted. Go confirm from anyone who resides in Edo. Almost all the Hausa/Fulanis were not seen in the market yesterday. They decided to close down their shops and go welcome Buhari in Benin yesterday. They love him more than their children. That can't be said of other APC top Presidential Aspirants! 1 Like |

◾ Pursue legislation expanding forfeiture and seizure of assets laws and procedureA recipe for disaster. ◾ Strengthen legal provisions to prevent stay of proceedings and other delays inHow is the APC government going to implement that knowing fully well the Judiciary is an independent arm of government just like the Legislature? ◾ Provide allowances to discharged but unemployed Youth Corps members for 12 monthsThis package is socialist in nature and will increase corruption in double fold. The aim is to make young people dependent on government. A perfect example to show that APC is a pro Big Government party. ◾ Encourage State Governments to focus on employment creationWhat kind of job are we talking about? This doesn't make any sense. The only thing that will fix Nigeria permanently for Good is TRUE FEDERALISM. Thank God the recently concluded national conference acknowledged that in their reports. Instead of planning Jamboree policies that are easier said than done, why can't the APC call for True Federalism? 2 Likes |

Gbawe2: APC’s Roadmap for Social Welfare Includes: This social security scheme will cost a mere 1.25 billion monthly which translates to only 15 Billion a year. And this will give 25 million poor Nigerians some life line to at least manage to live like a human being. Imagine what all the 50 Billion, 100 Billion, I trillion that disappeared under this government or used for phantom subsidy payment could have done if properly channeled to proper use. Diezani's private jet bill of 10 Billion within a year could have funded 2/3 of this scheme for 25 million Nigerians, we are really a nation of wasters. |
Re: APC: Road Map To A New Nigeria. by Gbawe2: 6:15pm On Nov 30, 2014 |
Ovamboland: Indeed. This is why I have no time, on this thread, for pseudo-intellectual mischief-makers masking as erudite and objective critics. Do some wannabe analysts know what corruption, lack of accountability/transparency and profligate/bloated governance cost Nigeria yearly? The monumental sum stolen via the fuel subsidy scam alone ($6.8 billion ) could comfortably fund a social security scheme , as part of broad reforms to usher in a new Nigeria of empowered and productive citizens, for a substantial length of time !!!!! And we have not even factored in the billions and billions of dollars an austere and committed President/government could save Nigeria by initiating broad and sincere cost-cutting reforms and absolute insistence on judicious use of public funds everywhere !!! Literally ,and in simplifying issues, many, many billions of dollars will become available to spend on Nigerians when we gain a President, like Buhari, who genuinely believes the wealth of a nation should be spent on her people and not on a small and rapacious Oligarchic class of callously anti-people opportunists. To that end, I personally have no time to waste on senseless back-and-forth arguments with apologists of this woeful government or those who cannot see that we have sunk as low as we can go and thus need change urgently or fail as a nation. http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/05/13/us-nigeria-subsidy-graft-idUSBRE84C08N20120513 Factbox: Nigeria's $6.8 billion fuel subsidy scam 1 Like |

major466: You get time to dey analyze typical Apeeshit senseless, contradictory, "say-anything" gimmick. They had Tam-Barawo, a Janjawid in sheep's clothing in the House for 4 years and neither he nor the other Apeeshit dogs and baboons saw it fit to even propose any of these "kwarauption" fighting laws. It's only when we are duped into voting them into the executive that they would start earning their pay. 2 Likes |

Ovamboland: Little Maths update: N5,000 X 25,000,000 = 125,000,000,000 ( that is 125 Billion Naira) or N1.5 Trillion annually. That means that an Apeeshit government (our ancestors forbid the abomination) will be using over 33% of the Federal Budget (caN4.5 billion) to pay people to sit at home doing fcukk all. |
Re: APC: Road Map To A New Nigeria. by Ovamboland(m): 8:09pm On Nov 30, 2014 |
Curlieweed: Thanks for the correction, this is not feasible, however the annual budget is about 4.5 trillion |
