billtommy: Fresh Graduate, no problem I guess. I read somewhere that a year after leaving school may not need much docs to show gainful employment. If you really want to prove you have been doing some work in your field even before you graduated, you can out that in your CV. But left to me, you are cool if you graduated this year and you do not have a job. Cheers! |

Anugoson:Thanks mahn! My father has no dependants o, all of us children are out of the house fending for ourselves, plus my mum who I can say is the only dependant is working. So really all the gratuity is for him alone and whatever he wishes to do with it. So plenty of it can actually go into sponsoring me. Besides this is Africa, parents go all out for their children even if it means goin hungry. What do u think? 1 Like |

chuk66:masters > pgd. since you got into a masters program in the U.S, you should go for that. why would you do a pgd that would take you two years to complete then apply for masters that would take another two years (sometimes one, depending on the course)?. that's four years in total. since you've gotten into the masters course of your choice in the U.S, do that and finish in two yrs. you would be much more ready to move on with your life when you're finished. and if you want to continue with a PhD you would be much closer to it, than if you were just wrapping up the pgd course. time waits for no one. 6 Likes |

aflyingbird: I am wondering the possibility of getting a work permit after my MSc in the states. How easy is it? because I heard its automatic work permit for 3 years in Canada after which you can keep renewing. I don't know how it runs in the states. Can someone intimate me? 1 Like |

WESTERNCR:Hope ur new job is kinda related to ur intended course of study? You should add ur new job info, notarizing ur sponsor's letter is important more especially If ur sponsor is not any of ur parents, you can check Conestoga college's PG programs, anyways it depends on the course u r looking at... |

chuk66:... Post graduate work permit for a 2yr program can be up to 3yrs but its not renewable... Na one time thing... the good part is u can apply for ur Permanent Residency during this Work permit with a job ... Thats a sure path way to ur Citizenship... USA on the other is tricky... Not sure they have such programs as I have seen cases where guys keep doing Masters and end up with 2 Masters and still no paper besides Student Permit... Listen... It depends on what u want to do bro... U can choose whichever one but U have to decide what are ur plans after studies...If u plan heading back to naija immediately... then go for USA... If ur plan is to collect ur paper sharp sharp... U know what to do.... U can always do ur Masters in Canada and pay omo house money once u collect ur PR... Again... U don't have to take my advise... its ur call at the end... 7 Likes |
