As much as you desire a young harvard-kind of candidate for the presidency, I must tell you that your imaginary candidate will fail woefully so much your head will spin. No Harvard, genius, or young politician can even go near dealing with our biggest problem which is corruption. Corruption can only be stemmed by a totally selfless person like GMB. That is his strong point, the kind of corruption going on here was never taught or even understood in Harvard or in climes where humans are humans. So thinking that one sophisticate is the messiah you think we need is simply put a fantasy. Nigeria needs a Buhari to kill corruption before way can be paved for that young man you are talking about. My brother do you know how much GEJ and his wife has stolen since assuming office? Have you heard of NITDA? That agency has been dedicating their budget to any contractor sent by Patience since GEJ came into power. Have you heard that all contractors that did work at MDG have not been paid for like 2 years now? Do you know why? But the same MDG sent N2bn out of the N4bn they got to Patience ( I dare anybody here to challenge this). Please go to any Bank and ask if any contractor borrowed money to do MDG job have paid back in the last 2 years. See this is just a small tiny part of what GEJ has been up to. GEJ is a good person personally but not a leader at all! Not at all!
Your allegations could very well be true. I mean, they sound quite plausible in Jonathan's Nigeria. In fact, I have no doubt that corruption has reached its apogee under this current administration. But given Buhari's antecedents, I remain highly sceptical about the fate of our freedoms and our rights if power is entrusted to him. Surely you do understand my point. Therefore, I still insist that Jonathan and Buhari are not the best that Nigeria can offer. We are shortchanged if we have to choose between them.

So talking about Buhari suit and how many times that he had contested seconds later is his idea of discussing issues? lol

The man Olisa Metuh is everything wrong with Nigerian politics and democracy. When you see him live you see a conman. If Abati had not tasted the forbidden fruit these are the kind of people he kills with his pen. So shameless a man.

Please stop this trash!!!!. The SW has a problem with GEJ not his tribe. Also historically the Niger delta and SE have been the prostitutes to the north..go and read your history. GEJ is the problem, there is something about leadership and the Yoruba' s conception of it that is offended when you observe GEJ's style. Even his supporters amongst the Yorubas don't respect him, they say he is humble, translate that to mean stupid and willing to do stupid things to be a president without real power. I personally suspect the guy has 'down syndrome' and it is only when there is money to be made or some evil to perpetuate that the guy shows smarts. SW Nigeria does not like GEJ, pure and simple.

Geo politically speaking, when NPN Shehu Shagari' s gov t was in power all the votes they used to beat Awolowo always came from the SE/SS. At the PDP convention in Rivers an elder statesman was saying the same thing about the special relationship between the north and the SS/SE. Zik ganged up with Shagari against Awolowo during the second republic.
Even during the June 12 elections, it was only in the east that Abiola did not gather much votes. As for Obj's handover, i said it somewhere that Odilli had already bought the entire north in preparation for the presidency before Obasanjo stopped it dead. After the amnesty, Yaradua personally was more popular with Niger delta militants than Buhari during their own elections. If there is any region closest to the North in Nigeria, it is the SS, SE.

People are just spreading falsehood because Jonathan is in power, is corrupt and incompetent and the SW does not like him. Of all the candidates that coukd have arisen from the north only Buhari is acceptable to the SW and this is because of credentials garnered during the Buhari/Idiagbin regime, we all saw that on display today at the APC convention.
Please accept the fact that your simpleton president is not good enough and going down in 2015.

Jonathan may not be "good enough" for you and your uncelebrated family, but he surely is for a large spectrum of Nigerian society. Stop your hate and embrace reality. GEJ TILL 2019.

Buhari antecedents are not practicable and feasible in our current democratic setting. It's just not possible. This man used what was available then to try to instil discipline in Nigerians. Nigerians are indiscipline by default and there are institutions today that can deal with such which only need empowerment from the constitution to carry out dutifully. The problem we face today is that the very people saddled with this responsibility are indiscipline themselves led by an equally indiscipline and tainted President who preferred to join the party instead of putting a stop to it. The party should be over already if ever we have to move to the next level.

This man murdered democracy in Nigeria and doesn't deserve to be a leader, he has an agenda which I have come to realise and definitely not a good agenda but God will never let that happen.

You and your cynical likes apparently have a new definition for corruption. It's amusing however that what you celebrate as corruption is just mere media propaganda orchestrated by APC and unrepentant GEJ haters. Can you explain to the world why you and other corruption jingoists have never deemed it necessary to initiate court proceeding against the so-called corrupt officials if there are evidences to substantiate their involvement in corruption? After all, GEJ has made it possible via FOI Act. Stop your wicked lies against fellow Nigerians.

While I congratulate Gen. Buhari on his victory at the APC presidential primaries, I remain unconvinced that a seventy-something year-old former military dictator is Nigeria's long-awaited messiah. Make no mistake, Buhari is, I believe, a very honest man. As President, he would probably be motivated to make an impact, much more than the pathetic effort that Jonathan has so far exerted. No, Muhammadu Buhari is not a bad person per se and my objection to his candidature has nothing to do with his tribe or religion. Rather, I am worried that Nigeria today has not yet birthed a political system that can allow its best and brightest, its vibrant and brilliant young minds, who exist in abundance, to rise to the highest echelons of political power. If our choices for the topmost office in our land are limited to Jonathan and Buhari, what does that say about our level of development as a nation?

do you have a better feasible option....since you can only choose between the two (GEJ & GMB). Maybe you guys should encorage Seun Osewa to run next term. The so called bright young minds are not into politics....Just take a look at the student politics running in Nigerian universities...there are too many junks. Even the younger folks are corrupt so what is the point?

I support u bro.

Yet, we don't have the young minds in any of these party that are likely to produce the next president.

What else should we do?

I don't hate GEJ. My dislike on him is based on his 'trowey face' on his corrupt executives. Likes like farouk...(I remain silent on the rest just as he remained silent on their issues). He's more heard of when he's trying to make a reply to either his critics or his non-party critics and even the decamped guys.

I'm 26 yrs of age. I wasn't born when GMB ruled this country, but based on my study, you and I would prefer him to GEJ.

GEJ is on top @ d moment. Despite the fact he has his good sides, the bad side are not favorable. I don't mean the boko guys issue. I'm referring to what an illiterate would look up to and condemn. Stuffs like means of living, corruption, devaluation of the naira, fuel(I don't see d price going back to the previous anytime soon), e.t.c. In our normal broken english, e too plenty bros.

Having a change in leadership, based on the fact we aren't satisfied with the incumbent, is part of democracy.

Bros, a change will definitely lead close to what we(right minds) actually desire in 'This country' of ours.

NB: I'm neither an APC member nor a hausa. I'm an Ibo dude. Abia. Calanar based.

With dis, it can tell u I'm not being motivated by neither tribe nor religion and state of residence.

APC thanx 4 giving us GMB. GMB unlike GEJ has d wisdom, tact, decisiveness, guts & d bandwidth to run a country as intricate as nigeria. During his short stint in charge of our country he clamped down on corruption like no other regime & restored law & order thru d War Against Indiscipline.
He rescued d economy frm total collapse in d worst economic recession in its history & paid a huge part of d external debt incurred by thieving politicians. He rejected d IMF loan & its slavish conditionalities. He refused to devalue d naira & thru economic ingenuity he kept d inflationary rate between 3-5% & d exchange rate at $1 to 1 naira. He did it b4, Ve will do it again. SAI BUHARI
