Hello beautiful people. Please I need clarification on some stuff.

I was offered an admission into a school in the US for Fall 2015 without any standardized exam because of my grade in WAEC (English) and my work experience. However, due to what I have picked from here for the past couple of weeks that I have been following, I noticed that most of the time the VOs ask for results of standardized exams most especially GRE. And then I decided to prepare and write the exam most likely in February, 2015. Now I have been having issues with payment for the past couple of days. The payment through VISA card (required) was not going through. I visited a tuition centre and I was told I would pay N47,300 to register for exams. I feel that's very much on a high side though the dollar rate is messed up. Since it's something I can do myself, no big deal, it should save me some cost.

How do I go about the payment before all the available seats are taken completely?

I wrote TOEFL like 18months ago, I had 109 ... by and large its simple. in my opinion TOEFL is impossible to prepare for so I don't advocate much preparation. I have a tip for you about the summary part of the writing section, just let me know when your TOEFL is near.

N.B if you must prepare focus your attention on the speaking and writing sections. The reading and listening section is a piece of cake, I had perfect scores without preparation. just read novels and watch American movies without subtitles and you are good

I agree TOEFL is pretty much lucid. I never studied for it to score 108 off 120. Its more of fun than an exam for a 'graduate prospective'. Cc sirRiddy pls don't forget the chinko group thing bro and thanks for the details on phone. Its quiet invigorating

You should specify which of the standardized tests you want to write and I'll suggest you get a GTBank MasterCard.

I registered for my test using paypal and GTB visa card. It cost me about 33k, this was in sept. I can guide you on how to register.
The tutorial center just want to make small money off you, na the enterpreneural spirit be that bro. I collected 40k from my dad for the exam, and I still had 5k left. Open a paypal account first, then pm me.

Hey guys, so I've been following this thread for a while and gotten alot of useful information. I have an interview tomorrow for a student visa interview. I got admission to American University for a Masters.

I just wanted to ask, how long should the financial statement show? I mean how many months or years? I only have like 3-6 months. Is that enough or should I reschedule my interview.

Thanks for all the info.

Alright, thanks. I have another question. My sevis was paid on the 14th which was Sunday.i have printed the confirmation page which shows I have paid.

on the sevis website, it shows this.

If you need a visa interview, the American Embassy/Consulate will be able to verify your payment within two (2) business days after 12/15/2014.

Would this be a problem? 17th is just the second day after the 15th.

It should reflect as stated. Go with your confirmation slip and you can embellish your answer IF and only IF asked. No need to worry. It'll reflect on VO system as paid!

The day it was received is Sunday, it doesn't mean it was paid on Sunday , he must had paid earlier than that. I paid on Behalf of someone on Saturday and it hasn't been verified

No we told him to pay it on Sunday morning and he paid it in the afternoon US time. I checked the next day on fmjfee and it showed payment confirmed.

I printed out the Payment Confirmation page that showed payment date as 14th of December.

HE used western union at a post office in the US.

If you can annihilate GRE, I'm pretty sure TOEFL would be pellucid. I really can't suggest a specific guide for TOEFL success cuz I just did it to embellish my study intention; I'm sure sirRiddy will be willing to carry you along bro!

I don't think any of those schools you quoted above requires evaluation. Are you planning on applying to other schools?
