Most summer admissions have Jan 15 as their closing date. Time is almost up for summer application although a number of schools vary.

Throughout my search for schools, I have been avoiding uni-assist due to cost and stress, rhinewaal was my lifeline and they just joined uniassist undecided. There is god oooo. The search continues...

i do not usually write long stories but i really think i have to do it today. i met a nigerian lady recently here in frankfurt and i think i should share the story she told me yesterday cus we guys already here can learn a lot from it.

she came to germany for her masters two years ago with a sponsorship letter from her brother and her broda only paid her rent for 2 months and her insurance for 5 months so she had to struggle to survive by getting multiple jobs yle studying. the gist doe is not abt her cus she made a success of it as she has graduated now with good grades but abt a friend dey came together from OAU ife to the same sch here in fulda, germany.

the guy (an ibo guy) in question had a blocked acct and was being sponsored by his brother in nigeria so he was very relaxed and would not work but will go flexing and wasting money with another guy from nigeria who was on a monthly scholarship. he would also be sending money home from this same block acct to his gf in nigeria forming don and partying and buying things from expensive stores, dating german gals, moving with unserious people. you all know that 8000 euro in germany is really chicken change so the money burnt fast and he had to start begging his broda in nigeria for more money.

the broda pitied him and sent him around 2000 euro to renew his permit cus he got one year initially but during the process of his being broke and finding it had to survive, he lost focus and failed the semester exam woefully. so the visa office refused to extend his permit and he was asked to return home cus he could not cope with the rigours of the masters program. it was so bad for him that they had to send money for his flight back home from nigeria as he had wasted all money on him.

on getting back to nigeria with nothing to show for it after wasting close to 11000 euro, his gf back home that he was forming don for broke up with him and used the saving from all the guys foolishness to travel out herself. now the guy is back in Nigeria with no job and no certificate to show from his germany adventure and his brother have refused to spend a dime on him again.

moral of the story: we know the sacrifice we had to make to get here, the nights searching online for schs, the periods fine tuning our motivation letter, the trips to lagos and abuja to certify documents, the nights reading for IELTS and TOEFL and in some cases also preparing for german language proficiency exam. Most importantly, we know the biggest sacrifices some of our parents and sponsors had to make for us to be here in monetary terms. some parents (like mine) took loans with huge interest rates using a valuable asset as collateral. plz and plz, let us face wat we are here in germany to achieve cus the authorities here would not hesitate to send us back if we mess things up.

im not saying we cant flex once in a yle but we should remember the saying that dia is time for evrything under the sun. for those with a mindset of coming here to flex with german guys and ladies wo are already citizens, i would advise we do it with sense cus if things go wrong, they have a social system to fall back on but we will be left hanging out dry. if we dont av sex in a year we cant die and dia is a way we will prove oursefs that these gals will offer themself to us on a platter. i already have two german ladies in my class wo wants my dick but im running with sense not cus im impotent but cus i know say time neva reach.

and for us who have fiances back home in nigeria, dont let wateva pressure they pile(stuff like u av not called today, u dint send me a msg, u know i need attention and money) affect us cus they cant understand wat we are facing here. if he or she cant wait, then let him or her go, another person will come.

Hello everybody, I think its high time we even discuss some salient issues regarding going to Germany to study. We all know that getting the visa is just one hurdle, studying and coming out with good grades is yet another as well. However, in all these, the foreign certificates (original, not China or Taiwan) are our main focus. The question now is; are there really job prospects for we Nigerians in Germany upon completion of the program and earning the certificates? We all know that the certificate is just a means to an end and most of us intend to get jobs over there with it and only a few intend to come back here to struggle with our brothers and sisters in the labour market for the few available but highly competitive job offers, however some of us may be very lucky to have jobs lined up for them here already while some may even get employment in Nigeria after applying from Germany.

The main focus is about those who intend to stay back, work and integrate into the German system and contribute their own quota to the German economy. For those who studied there and are already working or those who know some good guys who know some bad guys that studied there and are now working in Germany, we would like you to share your experiences or that from reliable sources so that we will know the chances(if any) available or open to foreign nationals (Nigerians specifically) who schooled and graduated in Germany and what jobs are available to them, both those who can speak the language fluently and those that cant. Someone once told me that most Nigerians working there are not really working in their field but in factories. That is to say those who are supposed to be in the skilled labour industry on account of their level of education and/or field, only find themselves being employed in the semi-skilled labour industry.

We need our brothers and sisters who are already there to comment and contribute on this topic as am already bored with admission, visa and ticketing stuff. Lets discuss life after schooling in Germany, their acceptability, job prospects, etc so we will be able to make informed choices as there is sure life after school and that is the main focus here.

Thanks in anticipation of your contributions.

Rhine-waal as joined uni-assist for real, I received this email from the school.
Dear applicant,

We are very sorry to have to inform you that your application for the 2014-2015 Winter Semester could not be processed on time.
This semester we unexpectedly received an overwhelming number of applications from abroad and found ourselves unable to individually process them all before the final enrolment deadline of November 15th.
Unfortunately, we cannot continue to enrol students for the current Winter Semester after this deadline.

In order to better address the large number of international applicants for our study programmes, the university has decided to work together with the application processing service Uni-Assist.
This means that if you decide to apply again to our university in the future, you will need to do so through Uni-Assist – but you will still receive official notification from the university directly.
You will find more information about the application procedure for the 2015 Summer Semester on our website (under “International Students”) by mid-December 2014.

Once again, we apologise for not being able to address your interest in studying at our university and we hope to able to welcome you in Kleve or Kamp-Lintfort in the future.

With kind regards,

International Office

You are right, most people here are still studying and so can't answer your questions.
So far, i have met few old students who were able to get placements after studies, it wasn't easy but they were able to scale thru. According to a good friend, we Africans are at the bottom of the employment triangle, trust me it's not funny.
Studying IT & Engineering related courses seems to give you a more fair employment opportunity, compared to people related courses. The later requires great proficiency in German, which is quite not an easy task.

I keep saying it this, peeps should learn the Lang to at least B1 level in Nigeria before coming if you can, then it would be more easier to get to the top faster.

@nevillbot The lady who told you this story, how was she able to survive with multiple jobs? You are given a specific time to work per week and during holidays and from research the money is usually not enough to depend on only, unless you earn Schwarzgeld and that is dangerous. Brother don't be tempted ohh.

Yeah, that's a known fact.
But you don't have to give personal experience, I want to believe that people don't just go there and it's all read read read! I mean we r Nigerians, that curiosity and hustle is in our blood. Surely, ur church members would have been there longer, you will enquire from them. And those kind of things. You can share what you learn from them here. Don't know if you grab my point?

ok, I dont think people are really avoiding the question but waiting for someone with far more experience.
personally am yet to complete my studies, but trust me right from time it has not been my plan to stay back in Germany for work. Firstly, am not really the type that is really interested in european life. my first year here was so log for me that i couldnt wait to run back to Nigeria after my second semester exams.
Secondly due to what I am studying (Related to construction), I think there are really create opportunities in Nigeria for me and also to rise to the top for in Nigeria I tink will be quite easier. one of the reasons being that to learn the Technical languages that I will use will not be easy. ability to communicate is totally different from using it in a more professional environment.
the fact is, surviving in European is totally not easy, as u will have to be up and doing at all times because anytime you sit down, it will affect you.
to cut the long story short, it depends on what u wanna do. I know myself so I try to do things the way I tink it favours me. maybe i will change my mind later, I cant say. I can go on and on but.....my God help us all
cheers
