Go ahead and get the 2004 C230 Kompressor but ensure you've inspected thoroughly before making payment.

(1) All w203 C230 are equipped with superchargers(kompressor)engines

(2) Reliability depends on how well you take good care of your ride but durability is guaranteed with the benz.

(3) Fuel economy is super for a performance monster(C230) equipped with a 1.8L engine.

(4) Suspension is as well good but i believe you are aware that it's low but not a problem at all.

(5) Parts are available and affordable so you have nothing to worry about. Also remember that parts replaced on benz(or any other Europe brand) last very long compared to the ASIAN brands.

(6) Except you want to drive in the Lagoon but common sense should alert anyone that driving in flood isn't advisable because of the ECU. or you don't want the tyre to touch water

Cheers

What's the difference or pro's and con's of both the European and North American version of the W203
C230 Kompressor.

Kuntash if you drive a Benz and have been to trinity you would know what I'm saying. Just the way iyana Itire is the VW go to spare part market.

The OEM side mirrors glass from my car I was told 5k for one in ladipo in trinity the pair goes for 5k. The bumper tow clip for my car in ladipo I got it 5k Infact the seller adviced not to buy it cos it could be easily stolen in Trinity I got it 2k. My mechanic got the folding mirror switch for his W211 for 3k in Trinity his parts guy didn't see it ladipo and the one he saw was for a right handed car and it didn't work and they called it 10k. I could go on and on. If you know your way around Trinity you would be shocked at amazing prices. The used OEM headlight for my car with charger (ballast) in ladipo they said 55k it's 40k in Trinity. A dedicated market would have things cheaper cos of the availability and competition.

Go to Ladipo and price to the complete Engine and gear for a W203 you would be shocked at the price in trinity.

P.S I speak fluent Igbo and drive a great bargain.

I like buying from importers , or maybe because I know few of the sellers, nonetheless, the saying of "not standing @ a particular place to watch a masquerade" would come in here.... I would plan to Visit the Trinity with a friend that sells Benz parts

lately, I am really thinking of getting these parts from abroad, you would be amazed at the landing cost of some sensitive spares that outrageously are off the roof in terms of price.

3months ago , I asked my BMW mechanic to source for the front struts of a 3-series - all wheel drive, brother, the final price was like 45k tokumbo, I wasn't surprised because I envisaged it.... so I did a comparison with ordering online , a brand new oem landed here at less than 55k, for me the decision was to opt for the new one... and avoid the risk of toks etc...

Hello everyone, merry Xmas in advance. Please I ve this problem with my w203. Wenever I apply break at 100-120km/hr speed I notice this strong vibration on the steering wheel. And I ve changed the break disc but still persist. Some dealers and mechanic have said so many thing like its the break pad, lower arms calippers and some ll say it's not. Infact, instead of helping, they ended up confusing me. Please anyone with a soln to the culprit? I base in abuja and I intend going to mechanic village in Abuja again tomorow agianst my Xmas traveling. Please treat as urgent cos I need to travel with the car. Thanks.

Wheel alignment and balancing at a reputable specialized workshop will sort things out.

How long has this vibration been?

Must you travel with the car?

I dont encourage rushing to mechanics to fix supposedly critical faults as brakes and vibration and head on the road....

if you have traveled with the car b4 whilst it was vibrating and you are absolutely sure you must travel with it... then go ahead and maintain less than the speed you say it vibrates....

you also seem not to have a reliable mechanic... dont patronize road sides... make your peak 110km/h, you would be amazed you would arrive at your destination almost at same duration.....

I am sure your car would do well, when u get back- fix it .... its a benz after all grin!

Where can one find authentic Benz parts dealers in Abuja?

I am badly in need of an alternator for my 2004 model C Class (Kompressor) engine without luck.

If you don't get in Abj, you might need to check closer cities. I use exactly the same vehicle as you and don't have issues sourcing for parts. I reside in Kaduna.

or better still, you may ask your local dealers to order for you from Lagos.

Beep me if you require more info.

I can bet its not his gearbox

When faulty sensors send wrong signals to the ECU, the ECU gives out wrong commands.

He needs a Tech with a good scantool or else, they mess up his ride.

From this section, it is safe to surmise that Mercedes aren't really reliable at all. All I see posted are issues and issues.

Say it ain't so?

Lol! I expected more respected members of the community like Auhanson to respond. The reason I asked was I have a C200 sport coupe I could use but I'm unwilling to sink money into a money pit.

Check my profile for my current car.
