pls my dell laptop is working well b4 the HDD crash. and i
change HDD perfectly. but wen I finish installed window 8
wit other software there is no problem. then I shurt it
down. after sometimes I on it again hoping to charge d
battery and continue using it. then I discover dt my
battery is charging but not increasing. pls wht could cos

Sorry for that,
Unplug the charger from the socket, shut the laptop down and remove the battery.
Put back the battery and plug the charger again and see what happens.
If the problem persists try using the charger on another laptop.

That means there maybe a drop/increase in the voltage the charger supplies.
Is the charger connected in a stabilizer? if yes try connecting direct and see what happens.

yes they d same 19v each. and hv been using the to charge it perfectly b4 HDD issue come up

When you hoover the mouse over the battery icon, does it state plugged in but not charging ? When you re-installed your hard drive, did you re-install all system drivers ?
Log unto dell.com, go into support,home,and run an auto diagnosis on your system. It would prompt you to download detect.exe, the system would run an auto-detect to check if all your drivers are up to date or any missing drivers.
While on dell.com, navigate to driver downloads and check what system drivers would be beneficial to you.

Installing windows 8, does not install all system drivers. Your BIOS driver could be out of date etc etc etc

You need to see a pro to handle this, the problem maybe from the newly installed OS

when I plug the charger is shows plug in charging. but only that the percentage is not increasing. I will try follow ur process

Test with another compatible battery & AC adapter, and see if the problem persists. If yes, proceed to the laptop manufacturer's official website, download & install a BIOS update.
