Why do you people present him as messiah when you can't actually point out one achievement of his? Any time he comes under scrutiny the same rhetoric reverberates. Same answer always, if he couldn't do anything when he had power, what makes you think he can do anything now?
what a 4uck r u talking abt? Buhari spent his 2yrs in office in Saudi Arabia n Yemen, is that not enough to give him some credit ⊙︿⊙ During hs time in office ,he transformed Nigeria into modern Somalia..... Guy no talk dat thing again o..o

The insides looks plush enough... its people like the op and cohort that will want to scratch the body of the train... let's have pics of the full fleet of trains and not posting just one cargo train.
So the ones wey u dey enter na like this e dey? *Referring to the pic you posted* The last time i dared enter a train, i swore never to again in my life. I was heading back to Lagos from Kwara during the festive period. I ended up spending 24hours on what would have been a four-hour journey in transit.

I prefer the Ghanaian ones sorry. It looks safer with wider windscreen and its neater. The GEJ one looks refurbished.
The Ghanaian one does not have elaborate engines taking over the locomotive itself, probably a more efficient design.
See how GEJ trains are all engines in the locomotive. Those are pollutants if you ask me.

This ones?

Na locomotive diesel engines o.
Look at the ones from other countries. They're are electric. Don't be deceived. Na paint you dey see.

After two months you won't recognize the Nigeria locomotives again because of smoke from the burnt diesel.
..
emm emm av seen them with my own eyes and I can tell you they where built in 2013 and they up 2 standard. If previous administrations had done something like this, the present government would have done even better by improving on them. Development is not a one time thing it's a continuous process.

This is the information I could find on the web:

The older looking ones are C25 EMPD locomotives from GE (General Electric). But it is mostly in African countries with less sophisticated railways that they're used.
You are rather wrong on the claim that these locomotives are used in African countries with less sophisticated railways. The Messrs GE Transportation built diesel locomotive engines are the first choice call for operators in both the US and 65 other countries for heavy freight and passenger traffic haulage.
They are rugged and the best.....although not as fast as the sleeky built electric trains deployed for intra city shuttles.

Yeah, they use electric train there. Gautrain (speed train) and metro rail (normal train).

Metro rail is almost available everywhere just like danfo... And Gautrain is still a bit selected for some long distance and special places but they are still extending sha.

Na only Sentiments dey kill us for this country.

We always fail to accept development, rather we choose to castigate virtually every little progress we make.

@Op... Please answer the following to prove that you're sure of what you're saying

- how long has trains been in existence in majority of these countries you're busy displaying their "best" trains like you said?
- are you better off with no trains at all than with "refurbished" trains like you claim?
- must you condemn a government to prove that your candidate for the next election "GMB" like you say is the messiah?

My prayer is that we all live to survive the "hell" we are unconsciously building for ourselves cos of this 2015 elections.

I am showing the best of the each country.
You have seen the best of Nigeria. Compare them with the best of Nigeria which is DMU.

I am not impressed with GEJ's trains.
Theyre a rip off. Watch how this rail project will die an infant death because they're not planned woth the times we live in.

Also, theyre not integrated to other transport modes like the sea ports, inland ports.

I expected rail lines from Apapa port to the hinterland, dredging River Niger at Onitsha and putting a rail line from there to Aba.

I am sorry but it is disappointing.

Instead of this wasteful rail project that is not well thought out and integrated, GEJ should have focused on either the Power Sector or Refineries.

Honestly Nigeria would have been better off because these are the No. 1 problems with the country alongside Insecurity.

My friend this forum is a respected site for information and valid opinion. unfortunately, you are not promoting these values. your hatred for GEJ is clouding you making it hard for you to absorb truth. for your information, the rails are linked to all the major seaports. even companies are thinking of stopping trailers from entering their facility. I know this because my company made that part of their mission. we been moving containers to Kano for over six months now by rail. But your APC brothers in trailer drivers association are bragging that this will die as soon as Buhari takes over.
APC is a strong opposition which is goog for our democracy. But their choice of Buhari was wrong. He toppled a democratically elected government. He does not have respect for democratic institutions. so he shouldn't benefit from it.

My prayer is that we all live to survive the "hell" we are unconsciously building for ourselves cos of this 2015 elections.

You have spoken like a concerned gentleman and I will reply you as such.

The three most important priorities for Nigeria today are:
Security, Power and Refineries. I have not even included Checking Corruption.

Why focus on the 6th or 7th priority while there's no progress on the top 3? If we have constant power and stop importing PMS, AGO, DPK, bitumen we can even build electric trains here in Nigeria using borrowed technology.

Afterall 5 or so years of GEJ's Gov't, see the level of progress. refurbished diesel locos.

Have you seen pictures of the stations? Nothing to write home about. Nothing integrated about the project.

I assure you if GEJ wins in 2015 all these projects will be abandoned and you will hear it's because of low oil prices.

Happy Holidays.
