Happy New Year my Dear, come on explain your point, help us out give us your quick assessment of the article. Thanks in advance.
The summary of d thrasing report is this: GEJ receives #14,410,290 each yr for 3 yrs, making a total of #43,230,870 (but d headline erroneously says it is #4.3bn). Also, d 'report' says GEJ paid #1,242,670 as tax in 2011 and then #2,510,755 each for 2012 and 2013, making a total of #6,262,180 (but d article erroneously calculatd as about #626M). The fact that these glaring errors escaped both Vanguard editors and NL's Mods is astonishing. The comments of most of NL's dulll membas on this thread who can't simply 'read' is not surprising though....#greetings, and Happy New year in advance too

ABUJA – FOR presiding over the affairs of Nigeria as its president in the last three years, President Goodluck Jonathan has pocketed N4.323 billion as salary...
The document showed that the president yearly salary stands at N14, 410, 290. 48 yearly.
OP: Both you and the writer of the Vanguard article have problem with maths.

14,410,290.48 x 3 = 43,230,871.44 (43 million) not 4.323 billion.

A lot of the people that commented before me also need to go back to school.

Forgive me but I think something is wrong with the maths. 14 million plus yearly, how did that get to 4B in 3 years? 1 million plus in tax, how did that sum up to 626 million in 3 years?

I guess someone would have spotted this or may be I'm getting something wrong...

my generation would have a gooood legacy left for them;

The same can't be said for yours; 'cos there won't be anything left for them as there's so much bitterness in your system. As I said earlier, if you don't turn over a new leaf, you'll die by February grin grin

Do you know that that is basic salary which he have no reason to touch, Nigeria is paying for everything he needs and to think of some allowances of which some are up to 300% of basic salary some 200 some more than 300. All those money with the level of unemployment in the country, level of poverty, state of our education and health, what about our power sector our roads and most of it all we don't have a working refinery for the oil that is giving them all him all those money. And that reminds me of one of the advert made for him on TV change is not easy which mention some leaders that is not easy for but they did it anyway comparing him with them. I only want him to know one thing he can deceive many but he definitely cannot deceive me and many other Nigerians because I know all those he's comparing himself with are not collect a meagre of what he is collecting despite the fact that their respective country is miles more richer than Nigeria. Having said all that I know for sure that all authority is establish by God which is why I will not go against his government however the Holy Bible told me to pray for it. And my prayer God Almighty in his infinite mercy should rule and transform all of their(President GEJ and his team) life and the rest of their generation the way they rule and transform Nigeria in Jesus name.

Does a senator earns more than the president? As at last year when a dollar goes for #150 a senator collect 20m per month and a house of rep collect 17m per month

While we wait for the TAX returns of General Muhammadu Buhari, it is worthwhile to note that Jonathan paid about 15% of his income as taxes.

Let us hope the pretending A-Looter will not tell us another story of military secretary sad

Meanwhile it will be good for our journalists to find out and publish the tax returns of ALL candidates in these elections:

- senate
- representative
- governor
- state assembly lawmaker.

Let us ADVANCE our democracy and reduce the number of daft pretending rogues in our high places!
