Hmmm, this thread shows that most people comment based on title of thread without taking time to read. It could also be that some people are being outrightly treacherous.

Lol!

Correction noted. But what about the billions for feeding, traveling, fleet of jets etc?

Let's forget about contracts and looting for now.

The headline should have just read Basic salary not he "made" as if that's all the money he has gotten so far.

@OP where did you get the initial figures you posted.
Honestly, I was shocked on reading the figures in billions you posted earlier.
I made a web search and found that the information you posted was incorrect.
Checked back and noticed you have effected a correction.

CORRECTED!!!

Abuja- President Goodluck Jonathan made tax payments of N6,264,221.75 to the Federal Inland Revenue Service, (FIRS), out of a total of N43,230,871.44 as president between 2011 and 2013.

Details of the president’s tax payment also showed that the president did not earn any other income besides his fixed income as president of the country in that period. There were no indications of income from stocks or other businesses that the president could have had.

Despite earning a regular service of N14,410,290.48 in each of the three years, the president tax liabilities however increased in 2012 and 2013 to N2,510,775.77 up from the N1,242,670.21 paid in 2011.

The returns were displayed at the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, at Area 10, Abuja.

The income tax clearance certificate from the Federal Inland Revenue Service with Ref no- Abj/MDA/PAYE/09690150 and dated July 2, 2014 were part of the president’s submission as presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
The document tagged with: “To whom it may concern,” indicated that the president’s source of income was ‘employment’.

The clearance which was stamped and received in the Legal Services Department of INEC on December 18, 2014, reads- “This is to certify that Dr. Jonathan Ebele Goodluck (Presidency), has paid income tax assessment for the past three years.

Why are some Nairalanders obsessed with GEJ? For goodness sake, the man earn a LEGITIMATE income and PAID his taxes. What's the fuss about?

How come those who claim they are progressives as state governors, law makers, pensioners not give up or reduce their pay. The last time I checked they all get the salaries and all benefits that comes with their office.

Jonathan has brought TRANSPARENCY to governance.
