The locally made ones are cheaper. Why boost they economy of another country unnessarily? So you want Nigerians to keep wallowing in slavery?? This is not about GEJ. This is about our lives collectively as Nigerians. If we start importing plastics, how do you think our naira will fare? Positively? If we improve in our Scientific Research, come up with more products both new and old which we are alreding importing like AC Alternators, Fabrication Machines of various types etc., and start manufacturin(not assembling) all these products here in Nigeria and people start buying them, do you think Naira will bé the it is now? To finish a Race, you start from a Point. jingh: 3 Likes |

Yes, they say the import substitution strategy is to encourage local production. But a pertinent question begging for answer is, "where are these locally produced cars?" At a time the dollar exchange rate has shot through the roof, doesn't that also translate to a higher cost of these so-called locally produced cars as their imported parts are purchased in dollars? Only the mentally/intellectually retarded person will argue against a regime change come February 2015. As for me, I know where my heart lies. The GEJ govt has absolutely NOTHING to offer. 1 Like 1 Share |

bushdoc9919: Precisely. We cannot make cheap cars until we can source 50% or more of the raw goods needed for cars locally. Our Steel industry must be revived and we need Quality Control experts to set up testing facilities here. Also, let our govt put their money where their mouths are and USE MADE-IN-NIGERIA cars as their official vehicles, as vehicles of almost all parastatals. The only Innoson vehicles I've seen in Lagos were buses travelling to/fro the East, yet the man has been producing for over 2 years. FG should have patronised him and used banks to offer excellent loans to Nigerians to buy Made-In-Naija. 2 Likes |

kennaustine:don't mind them bro, every body shouting change jst to get into our pants. I wonder the type of change they expect than this. People blinded by sentiment and running the country aground while local manufacturers are pushed out of trade. Are u unemployed and against the auto policy? Maybe u will get bank loan to buy the cars, cos some will still remain unemployed till we have our own auto coys who are viable. Innoson, annamco et al has the potential to be like honda, toyota etc, only if we patronise them. That's the real change. GMB has this in mind but won't tell you,cos he needs ur vote 1 Like |
