A pretty good list. Individual tastes differ, so you can't please everyone.

For example, I won't replace "Nigeria My Beloved Country" with "Ahaye Yaro". It's either "Nigeria My Beloved Country" or "Ina Gizon Yake" for me (I think that "Ina Gizon Yake" was Funmi Adams best song).

There are a couple of other good songs that could make the list.

Victor Uwaifo's Guitar Boy should be there. Also Sonny Okosun's Mother and Child. Ahh those songs give me great feelings of nostalgia even though I'm in my 20s.

Great list!

Do you agree that Funmi Adams song "Ahaye Yaro" would make a better substitute for her "Nigeria my beloved country"?
Also, I would substitute "Biri Ka M'biri" for "Identity" when I consider the major hits by Oliver De Coque.

Your list has just made me start searching on Youtube for some songs I forgot ever existed, and some I don't think I've heard of.
My old boy still has several LP records that I play on occasions. I recently began converting them to mp3 so he can play them on portable devices.

Modified!
I had to add this. @OP: Admit it. You made this list mostly from a single page from Youtube cheesy
Or, rather, whoever compiled the list did so from almost a single Youtube page. Just search and play one of the above songs, then check out the rest of the songs displayed on the sideboard.
I searched for that song by Dan Maraya, and while it was playing, I realized that most of the songs on the list were displayed right there at the sideboard on the right.
Anyhow, you just made me give myself an assignment for the rest of today. Im gonna be searching for, and downloading some songs I could remember from childhood. Thanks!

I feel same way you feel. Very nostalgic!.

But let me help you with why you saw almost the same songs when you played one of them on youtube. It's not because the list was originally compiled by looking at youtube. But because thousands of people who listened one song remembered similar songs and watched it, then remembered another similar song and watched it, so on and so on, same way you acted. To make it short, there's an algorithm (software instruction) that tell youtube the similar songs to any song everybody listened. This's to make it easy for you to find songs. Exactly the same thing it have done to you as you can see for yourself. Hope you understand.
