rooney plays as a midfielder - he receives and passes the ball where opponents can't be bothered about him(low pressure zones) of the pitch.

strikers have less than 2 seconds to decide what they do with the ball - they play in high pressure zones of the pitch. one of the reasons rooney drops deep even when played as a lone striker is because of his poor ball control - he runs to areas where defenders aren't breathing down his neck.



% accuracy of which passes? long or short passes? which area of the pitch was rooney receiving those passes & how many minutes has he played in the midfield? you can't just pluck stats out of a baboon's arsë and present it in an argument.



falcao is a striker - same argument applies. young operates as a winger, same argument applies. rooney plays cinderella in front of the back four - an area where opponents can't be bothered to press.

that's exactly the reason i think rooney is the most worthless player when it comes to losing possession. he's played less minutes than van persie & he's been dispossessed more times than van persie. if we factor in his position(CM + CDM) then rooney's a monumental disgrace to our badge.

Falcao unsuccessful touch and dispossessed is very woeful. Having 9 unsuccessful touches in just 60 mins vs Tottenam, 7 against Stoke . Rooney has played 90 mins a few times as a striker and has never had such figures.

Rooney had 79 touches........ only 1 unsuccessful touch
RVP 47 touches................... 4 unsuccessful touches.

you keep disgracing the respectable united fans with your poor english comprehension. what brought us here is rooney's poor first touch - not the number of touches he gets per game. first touch = his command of the ball when he receives a pass.

head, leg, chest, knee, bütt can all qualify as touches. rooney's poor first touch has nothing to do with number of touches he makes per game. don't colour the argument with your poor use of english language.

we had to literally tutor you yesterday when you were confusing shot on target with first touch. first touch is not the same as number of touches so your stats have no bearing with the argument. only a fool would argue that rooney has a better control of the ball than berbatov, RVP or mata.
