Happy new year everybody kiss kiss

Yes u can make moimoi with no oil.
Normally, this is how I do mine.
Blend beans, onions, that long pepper(cayenne),tatashe, fish,if fish is not available!sardine and a cube of knorr. As per fish, I will remove d bones after steaming.
Then add salt to taste. Sometimes I add d sardine oil or I can do without it.
And it comes out good.

Eating healthy is d best o.

I have a very lovely testimony.
For close to 15 yrs my FIL has been on diabetics med.
I insisted he come and stay with me. Changed his regular routine, looked for healthy recipe(it was war, at times he will bring me to tears with his wahala, lol), he kept on rejecting some food, I keep on giving him those food that after one month, he reduced his drugs to half. Two months after, dr pronounced him diabetics free.

He was surprised when dr said no more drugs for u.

I gave this testimony so we all will know d value of eating healthy food. It's a choice.

pls Wat are d types of food u do give him dat cured him of d illness

This is Ose Ani served with pounded yam.

This is one of the tradtional delicacies of the Ahaba people. It is made from fried egusi seeds, fried pepper, crayfish and ground fish, among other ingredients. No form of oil is used in its preparation. There is also no boiling or 'cooking' required. As such it is a fast food of some sort.

This soup is currently going extinct as people of the younger generation now rarely prepare it, perhaps due to lack of knowledge of its existence and/or preparation.

While not looking like the most inviting of meals, it is certainly a very tasty soup. It is also quite nutritious due to its high protein content from ground fish, despite its lack of green vegetables.

It is not forbidden to serve it with cooked or fried or smoked meat/fish, but it is traditionally served as below.

I personally ensured the pounded yam was perfectly made, as I learnt from old Mumsi preparing her most cherished meal cheesy

Great job correct man, many of our traditional delicacies are going extinct and that is sad, personally I have never heard of "ose ani" until you mentioned it.

You are right. Very very sad. angry

In fact while eating the ose ani soup yesterday, she mentioned 2 other soup varieties I had never heard before, let alone eat. One is Ofe ogbodudu grin, cannot recall the other's name now.

Let's all try and stop the extinction smiley

While grinding the fried egusi seeds, dried fish, crayfish and fried pepper, boiled water is added appropriately to form the soup. The soup is only warm as a result, never hot.

'Uli', or boiled yam, is added along as thickening, esp if the consistency appears too watery after adding water

Salt/spices are added to taste.
