sorry bro.. My mind isnt through with u.. U arent in the best position to say people should add u up for discussion.

People who're concerned whom we really know are the ones in the best position to bring up such idea and not u. e.g the op and other relevant people

NOTE: NOBODY! I REPEAT!! NOBODY SHOULD ADD HIM UP!!

@bizbloke, this dude has been scamming people since the inception of nairaland. A similar thread years back had also been opened warning folks about him if you search his name on Google or here on nairaland, you'll see so many threads on him.

I honestly think we as individuals can prevent being scammed by anyone by just following due process. For example, when we want to make payment for something, we should always be the 1st to contact the Original poster. Most service providers always have their contacts on the front page of their threads.

We should never wait to be contacted by the providers because that is what the scammer does. He always makes the 1st contact sounding all genuine. Also if anyone sends us any email /account detail, we can always double check with Google or the original posters by their front page contacts before going ahead with payment.

Trust me if those Emmanuel awatirefe scammed had made used of search buttons before paying, they would have escaped loosing money.

Some people say the dude operates from Dubai could be possible he also has so many user names and stalks most threads on technology market looking for his prey.

In summary, people should always make use of google/nairaland search buttons before paying any money to anyone for a service and we should always make the 1st contact through the contacts given by posters on their home page.

Peace!

Guys,

At this juncture folks must have a robust way of verifying and being sure they are dealing with the right person while transacting.
For example I personally find it embarrassing that many will just jump into such a thread without bothering to at least just go through the first page, which normally will contain the needed info such as contact details, account number, etc, the very vital few pieces of info which form the basis of the transaction.

Not meaning to begin to pass blames, What bothers me more now is that many are still certainly going to fall for crooks like this guy and will come back seeking for help, this thread and the info herein not even withstanding.

Pray this crook meets his waterloo.

Yet, Newbies should be wary!

Sir escrow can be applied to any transaction be it pre-order or outright purchase. In the case of pre-order the seller funds the purchase of item but escrow ensures his money is ready when goods or services are delivered. As a matter of fact, we make the buyer pay in full before we ask the seller to proceed with purchase.

Our Internet market is ripe and ready to go. Fraudsters will always be online but there is a way to check mate them. Sorry for this but the guy who lost 300k, if he had paid via escrow, it would have cost 4% of total sum but by now he would have had the power to call back all his money and absolutely no need for this heartache.

As for information gathering, get all parties involved offline. Discuss through phone calls. Please do everything offline and leave seun out of this. The primary aim of nairaland is to create an online community for Nigerians. What you do with your interaction is your interaction and the consequences thereof is your business.

You dont think that is too blunt, nay too harsh?

Just give him the little support he needs, pray it yields result. At the end of the day, it will still will be attended to offline anyway.

No, I haven't.. I just posted a comment on Nairaland then he sent me an email, I was in contact with the real Lagtech he just asked me to redirect all email to the fake email that it would be faster to reply...

Thanks for sharing, MzSunshine.

Please, for future transactions, it's best not to listen to any redirection tale/story. If you see any, post on the business person's thread for verification. Most Nairalanders (no matter the username) are well meaning and would rather fight with you on other threads than see your hard-earned money go to someone else who refuses to use his brain for positive things.

You're right, Jaydee87. That's the purpose of this awareness (for him to go underground). When he plans a major hit, the right people will hit him offline. He can't go scot-free again; his act is a disgrace to Nigeria.

Can you do me a favour?

1. This is more a collation pool. I can't catch him but the right people will. Is he a ghost?

2. Customer Care Service of banks will help freeze his account. That's help and part of the fight: we start by making life very uncomfortable for him.

3. Exactly.

I don't mean to come across as offensive but, why should you be added up on BBM?

By nightfall, I'll make available a detailed PDF document including all snapshots and screenshots. His account details will be there, too. I'll upload on Google Drive or DropBox.

Please, if you can spare few minutes:
i) Download and have it handy. Then, forward to Zenith and Sterling banks (these are the banks we've confirmed he operates accounts with).

ii) Copy the first post and other necessary info on this thread. Save it on Note Pad (if on PC) or anywhere else (if on mobile). Then, copy and paste on every thread as much as you can. You don't need to quote or mention me; I don't need it. Just do it and help create awareness (let it go viral on Nairaland and we'll see how many people he successfully scams in 2015). Let's wish him a Happy New Year with this.

Don't see this as minute. Don't WATCH & PRAY only. It's time to take action. Awareness is key in any fight - HIV/AIDS killed a lot of people back then because of lack of awareness. Help 1,2 Nigerians and tell them about this scam.

Bless![/b]

I've never been scammed by Him though, but when I dug up info about Him, I realised He has been scamming People on Nairaland since 2011. Both on importation thread, Pre-order threads and even Nairaland Punting thread.

I also found out he has over 15+ aliases on Nairaland, aside the 3 I've posted already, the the Îdiot once made a mistake of posting his original Facebook ID on Nairaland. And all his Bank names are his real Names.

So, You see, He's only Smart but a dull fella.
