zangality: Ok. Well, when her cycle was 40days, it was an indication the ovary, whose tube was ruptured, was releasing the egg(s). That explains why conception wasn't achieved because the sperm cells couldn't find their way to reach the egg. Fortunately, with the change in cycle from 40days to 31days, it might just be indicating the other ovary is now releasing its egg(s). But there might still be a problem. If the tube also has endometrial tissue, the zygote might lodge in the tube and cause another ectopic pregnancy. Your wife's best option is ACM(Assisted Conception Method). |

I stil don't understand why people don't pay complete attention to their health, and it baffles me. You may feel ok, look ok, seem ok, but might not actually be ok. Regular check up is advised at least 3 times a year. Let's do things right next year. |

Marc9, thanks for your efforts, however I like to get your advice on a patient who recently got exposed to the hepatitis B virus, via sexual contact, I think not up to a week, went for a test and was confirmed negative. Is it advisable to get the vaccination now or wait for 2-3 months time to test if he has been infected? |
Re: Health Advice: Doctors Online by Nobody: 9:11pm On Dec 31, 2014 |
sublimes: A week after exposure is stil within the window period. The test would come out negative. Personally, I'd advise he be placed on HB vaccine, or antiviral as prophylactic, and hope for the best. The HBV screening should be carried out in 3months time! HBV is more contagious than HIV. |

Re: Health Advice: Doctors Online by Nobody: 3:38pm On Jan 01, 2015 |
yIkEsDuDe: yIkEsDuDe: Her painful urination is likely due to vulvovaginal infection, or vaginal contusion or tear, caused by em, em, em, I rather not air out my suspicion openly. I'll advise you take your kid to see a family health doc, or a gynae, or a paediatrician for Vaginal Examination. Let me ask, was that girl left alone with anyone, maybe a stranger? Did she stray out of the house to somewhere you guys didn't know about? Do you have a househelp living with you? |

Re: Health Advice: Doctors Online by Nobody: 4:50pm On Jan 01, 2015 |
Marc9: lets take it as an infection and not ur em em assumption; what normal drugs can one administer? Access to a Dr is limited, holidays and health workers strike. |
Re: Health Advice: Doctors Online by Nobody: 7:40pm On Jan 01, 2015 |
yIkEsDuDe: Well, i've never heard of or come across a 4yrs old with VVI, unless it was em, em, let me still keep it discreet. But then, since you want me to play dumb, I'll assume urinary tract infection is responsible for her dysuria. I'll advise you take her to a private specialist hospital(paediatrics) so she can be examined, sample taken in situ, tested, and treatment administered. |

Sir, Please, I sometimes have reoccurring stomach ulcer pains which I am not really experiencing for now. However, I discover I frequented going to toilet these day mostly after eating or at morning { very unusual of me) after little stomach discomfort. This makes me to go lean {I guess as most people complain this about me these days}. I don't have appetite for food and gets tired of eating after some food intakes. I go hungry again after going to toilet in the middle of eating. Please doctor in the house help me out as your advise and prescription would help. Thanks |
Re: Health Advice: Doctors Online by Nobody: 8:44am On Jan 02, 2015 |
egbamio: Let's just say your unusual anorexia, postprandial defaecation, and phagy, are connected to the peptic ulcer you have. You're losing weight because you're not eating right. I'll implore you run a stool culture test, and gastroendoscopy. As for prescription/treatment, treatment will follow after the outcome of the mentioned tests above. Avoid acohol, avoid skipping meal, avoid very hot meals, avoid peppery food, avoid fried meals, and avoid unripe fruits. |

Re: Health Advice: Doctors Online by Nobody: 7:28am On Jan 05, 2015 |
bensky: The subserosal and the intramural fibroids are small enough in size not to reduce your chances of conceiving. The submucosal is the significant fibroid that would most likely affect your chances of conceiving because of it's size and location, which explains why you experince heavy menstrual flow. The indication for surgery depends on the size of the fibroids. Fibroids larger than 5cm are removed surgically, hysteroscopic shelling if it's submucosal and lesser than 4cm, myomectomy if it's larger than 4cm and located either intramurally, serously, or subserously. Your chances of conceiving without removing the fibroids(surgically) or shrinking the fibroids(medically) is very low. Your chances of conceiving after removal/shrinkage(surgically/medically) depends on how careful the surgery is carried out. Hysteroscopic shelling, if not carefully done, may pierce the uterus. The myomectomy, after the incision, the fibroids removed, the stitching has to be carefully done so it doesn't lead to complications. The cost of surgery varies, depending on the kind of hospitals. But then, fibroids can be treated non-invasively. Some medications can actually shrink the size of fibroids. Fibroids are estrogen and progesterone dependent. Anti-estrogen and anti-progesterone analogs can actually shrink fibroids and curtail their re-growth. |

Hello doc pls my 6yrs old child is having problems with her teeth we are expecting her to change her teeth just as kids of her age but we just noticed another teeth growing behind d ones she is suppose to change pls doc what can we do and what is d cause thank u |
Re: Health Advice: Doctors Online by Nobody: 9:25am On Jan 05, 2015 |
lanreadu: Your child is having 'dental outgrowth'. The cause is low calcium and phosphate diets right from when he/she started taking solid food. Well, you just have to take your child to see a dentist for tooth extraction. Then buy calcium and phosphate supplements to boost the level of calcium in him/her. |

Dadsonval: How do you know you don't ovulate naturally? Is your menstruation regular? Like do you menstruate consistently? What is your average menstrual cycle length? Do you observe Egg White Cervical Mucus(clear and stretchy vaginal discharge) within your mid-cycle? How old are you? Are you TTC? Or you're concerned about your ovarian cycle? |
Re: Health Advice: Doctors Online by lanreadu: 2:45pm On Jan 05, 2015 |
Marc9:thank u very much doctor |
Re: Health Advice: Doctors Online by Nobody: 2:52pm On Jan 05, 2015 |
Dadsonval: Your irregular menstruation, with your inconsistent cycle, your lack of cervical mucus, all are indicating an extreme hormonal imbalance. Differentials include OC, PCOS, hyperprolactinaemia. I'll recommend you run a hormonal profiling, then ultrasound to check the state of your ovaries. The results will determine the next line of action. |
Re: Health Advice: Doctors Online by Nobody: 6:54am On Jan 07, 2015 |
haemi: Between the devil and the deep sea, you just have to decide which is more dangerous, and opt for the other. Most prescriptive drugs and some OTC drugs are contra-indicated in early pregnancy, but discretion can be applied by your physician in prescribing these drugs depending on trimester/pregnancy progression You complained of constant headache and insomnia I supposed? And your physician had to use his discretion in prescribing sleep pills to relieve you of your insomnia and headache, in order to control your BP from rising. High blood pressure in pregnant women can actually lead to spontaneous abortion(miscarriage). So, your physician did the right thing, so long you're on his regular watch. |
Re: Health Advice: Doctors Online by Nobody: 7:15am On Jan 07, 2015 |
daisyidaghe: First of all, having sex everyday in a month for the sake of TTC is so unnecessary. A lady can only get pregnant within her fertile period which normally spans for 5days. If your menstruation is irregular, and you don't observe EWCM at your mid-cycle, then it means you're likely "anovulating(no egg was released)" Impression: I think your hormones are imbalance, and you may just happen to have a cyst in your ovary, likely shrinks and regrows. Indication: Run a hormonal profile for FSH, LH, Prolactin, E2, and Progesterone, at cd5 for the first three hormones, and cd21 for the last two hormones. Then run a pelvic UltraSound scan to observe the ovary, particularly the right ovary |

Doc Marc9 Happy New Year. My New Doctor Placed Me On Clomid 50mg Frm Cd3-7 And Monitor My Follicule Frm Cd 13 Cd 13 -left Ovarian Follicle Is 23mm,cd 14 Is 30 And Today Is Cd 15 And It Remain As 30. Pls Doctor Is There Any Problem Wit Cd 15 Reading Dsame Size With Cd 14? When Is It Likely To Rupture? And What Do U Advice I Do? This Is My First Experience Of Follicule Monitoring. Pls Help Me Out. Thanks |
Re: Health Advice: Doctors Online by Nobody: 3:30am On Jan 08, 2015 |
everfaithfulGod: I'm sorry for the delay in reply, it was due to technical issue. A matured follicle stops increasing in size after growing to 27mm, or in some cases like yours, 30mm. That explains why at cd15, it maintained the same size as that of cd14. The follicle should rupture anytime from cd16. You should have begun having intercourse with your partner from cd14 till cd18. If you've not, then you should begin immediately. |
Re: Health Advice: Doctors Online by Nobody: 3:50am On Jan 08, 2015 |
folababy9: The symptom of abdominal pain only is not diagnostic. Quite a number of conditions/factors can cause abdominalgia. If the pain is felt within your abdomen, then it could be associated with organs like d bladder(cystitis), spleen, and kidney. If the pain is felt within your pelvis, then it could be associated with your reproductive tract organs like your ovary(ovulatory symptom), your fallopian(salpingitis), your uterus(adenomyosis). What cycle day/date are you? |

Hello Doctors, I have some rashes at the back of my neck though it was just something simple but of resent its becoming much and also itching me allot , some people say I got it from the barbing saloon but I just need a solution its becoming too much and unbearable |
Re: Health Advice: Doctors Online by Nobody: 5:20am On Jan 08, 2015 |
segunyomi1: You might have contracted a skin infection at the barber's shop while having your back scalp trimmed with an unsterilized clipper. The blade of the clipper inflicted bruises at the back of your neck. I don't prescribe online, so I'll advise you go to a nearby pharmacy later in the day and tell the pharmacist you need antibiotics for scalp infection and skin pruritus. |
