Happy New Year, everyone. May you run guided this year. May you learn to wait on God and not make the haste of men. May you be taught the works of God and made able to work them after Him. Amen Yetseyi, I'm still here...as promised I'm resuming the series. The following is where I paused last year. In the next post I'll continue. ihedinobi2: |

LESSON TWENTY TWO.... What sets Christians apart is the belief that Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ. The end of this belief is that whatever God did with this Jesus will be done with Christians too. That is, belief in Jesus translates to a deliberate pursuit of his destiny. Have you ever wondered how you can tell if someone is a Christian? How you can tell if you yourself are a Christian? Jesus once said that not everyone who acknowledge him are known by him. He also said that many people will protest that they did all manner of miracles and signs and wonders in his name but he will not recognize them as his on the day of judgment. Have you heard people say that we cannot tell who is approved of God and who isn't until the judgment day? That we will be surprised who is taken in and who is cast out? You may have. These are bits of evidence for some doctrinal losses we have incurred over time. Think about this: Paul admonished a church in his time to examine themselves and see if they are in the faith. What does that mean? It means that it can be known whether oneself is a Christian or not before the judgment day. It means too that there is specific evidence for the existence of Christianity in a person. When we speak of the connecting road between the belief and the destiny, this is where we come. We come to the working out of Christianity in a personal human life on earth. How does Christianity work out in human life? Take some time to think about this: how do humans live? What makes a human being do one thing and not another? 3 Likes |

LESSON TWENTY THREE.... Nobody is greater or less than the thoughts of their heart. How people think about life governs what they say and finally do. Ideology is the real father of character. Have you ever seriously wondered why repentance is a central theme in Christianity? The message of Christianity is that every man must repent in order to be saved. What does repentance mean? Yes, the popular idea is right. Repentance means to change orientation. But from what to what? And which orientation exactly? Typically, the thought is that the change is from having sex outside of marriage to being either celibate or faithful to one's spouse. Or from stealing to doing honest work. And so on. But if Jesus was right, a real change in action is really only the consequence of a change in ideology. If a man is what he thinks in his heart, then a man will only act in line with his ideologies. Do you see it yet? The connecting road is actually a consistent transformation of ideology. A change in how one thinks about life from one pattern to a new pattern. It's a change that is evidenced by a change in speech and a change in actual behavior. In other words, we are saying that Christianity is a proposal for new ideologies, for a different way of thinking about life than we had before, a whole new philosophy, right? Well, then, how do we learn it? And how do we know that we have learned it? Think about that until we meet again. 1 Like |

OH LORD I NEED MY ARROGANCE BACK: The pride of my destiny, When everything was bright and glaring, No thought of rivalry was born, The joy was young, The flame naively burn, Road or huddle not in consideration. When life toddle, And wisdom in cradle, When dreams so dazzle, Like joy of the redeemed, And beauty undimmed, Universe was like a yard, Before civility triggered. I need my pride back, When poetry was my reasoning, And music all my reins, When fame was ea'ier than sin, And challenges unborn, It was at the dawn, When hermon gave her dew, My tissues were not hewn, When heaven poured unbroken, And grace hid all the toils, When wheat were void of tares, The greens were green untattered I need my glory back. LESSON TWENTY FOUR.... I think we should first answer the question, 'what is Christian philosophy or ideology?' before going on to find out how we are to learn it. We already saw that the Christian belief is that the Man Jesus Christ is God come in humanity. We know too that the end of this belief is rulership or stewardship of all of God's domains. The connecting road has been claimed to be a transformation of ideologies to fit a certain pattern. Obviously, whatever the Christian ideology is is governed by the goal of Christianity and made possible by the unique Christian belief. Christian philosophy, in short, is that man is responsible to God for everything and everyone around him and God is responsible for everything and most especially for man. Does that surprise you? Think about it a little bit. Do you remember when Jesus said that he was leaving us only one law: to love one another as he had loved us? Do you remember also when he said that we should stop hankering after the things we need to live but look up to God for them? They mean just what the paragraph above said. Does the word 'responsibility' frighten you or jar you somewhat? It used to frighten me. I think that it probably frightens everyone at some point. Christian philosophy is that man is not a consumptive being, one who just takes and takes and takes, giving only in order to take some more. It holds that man is an administrative being designed to be able to properly assess the needs of his charge(s) and deploy the right resources to satisfy them. It also holds that God is a responsible King who provides for everyone all that they need for a fruitful existence. Can you see where this is going yet? This is an ideology or a philosophy that prohibits the frantic grasping and despoiling that characterizes life in this world. It's violently at odds with the 'normal' in this world. Now, how do we learn it? 1 Like |

GIVING GOD EVERYTHING(4) HEBREWS 11:4,GENESIS 4:3-5. By the special grace of God, I will continue on the lessons from our clouds of witnesses. I am going to talk about a man whom I am so much blessed by his life and the step he took that moved God. ABEL He was one of the heroes in the Bible who did not have the privileges we have today. What inspired me personally is the fact that there was no law written that would determine what to bring to God's presence. He believed that God deserves A MORE EXCELLENT SACRIFICE! The Bible says he gave the first fruit of his animals and the fat of his animals. These were some of the requirements for a worship before God Lev 7:23-25.What he did impressed God that he became a righteous man. What are we giving to God today? what is the value of what we are giving to the Lord? It is very important to know what God is expected from us before giving HIM anything at all. In Roman 12:1-2, The Bible instructs us to give our body to God in a holy and acceptable way. Why? Because He will not just take sacrifices like that of Cain from us. 1 Give God your life " He who loses his life for kingdom sake will find it" God is not like us ; we shall definitely have whatever we have given back in immeasurable folds. 2 Give Him your service " seek first His kingdom" men and women who have done so and are doing so are not foolish! They know the secret. It pays to serve Jesus, I speak from my heart" the song writer says .Dont just go to church because of blessings or miracles, go to church because He deserves more.... Do you know that when you see HIS FACE, you would have wished you give HIM more? Let your service comes from a sincere heart. Give Him you Treasure,Time and Talents Lay your treasures in heaven, He owns everything! Spend the quality of your time for Him, give substantial amount for the kingdom projects and use your talents to the glory of OUR MASTER.... Remember, we shall account for everything God has given us. Anna gave her Samuel, God blessed her with so many other children. Give Him everything and like Abel , even in eternity our names shall be written in GOLD! Have a great day. 1 Like 1 Share |

LESSON TWENTY FIVE.... When formal education was invented and popularized, the general idea was to provide groups of novices with a master who guides them in acquiring mastery of some craft or philosophy. The master would take time to explain things to them, entertain questions from them and stimulate their learning with puzzles of his own. This is what today's educational systems grew out of. Christianity works like that. We learn how to become responsible stewards as a group studying under one erudite and sensitive master. Also, ever since humans learned to record knowledge we have preserved knowledge we don't want lost in external, retrievable media. So masters have come to use such media to communicate knowledge to their charges. Christianity's medium is called the Bible. It is a body of organized knowledge. This knowledge is of the principles of the proposed philosophy and ideologies that Christ brings. There are examples in it to illustrate the workings of these principles when they are applied and when they are ignored or unknown. There are technical examinations of them. And there are intimations of the opposition they elicit once they are brought into material space and why these oppositions exist. Again, as with our various educational systems, provision is made to test what is learned and correct errors in Christianity. Also, there are incremental rewards within the learning process to motivate learning until the completion of the schooling. Think about what you know about the Church and about Christianity. Do you see any similarities to the picture painted here? 1 Like 1 Share |
